Botox fillers and the likes

Thinking of some mild improvements to my looks...main concerns are neck,
Nasal folds and my cheeks are sagging a bit..

I am so inexperienced in the territory of cosmetic surgery and procedures and just don't know where to begin.. it feels too overwhelming to start Googling..

So where do you go for stuff like that? I am not the easily trusting type so always looking for the top professionals with good track record of success.. assume you would want that before you hand over your face for fixing...

Based in London.. any tips would be much appropriated xx

Try and go to personal recommendations. Or research.
My lady is also a qualified nurse which makes me feel SO much better after my bi-yearly trips.

I would advice try and find somebody very reputable with some sort of medical license. Although not too easy to find! My lady is quite a bit more pricey than others. But it's because of her medical qualifications and extensive training.

Reviews too - if you find somebody, ask if they have a Facebook page and have a look at the reviews. And never be afraid to ask to look at their previous work and how long they've been practicing for!

The Tweakments Guide has a list of clinics on their website and a list of all tweakments inc Botox and fillers. It’s my bible for stuff like this.

I have fillers in my cheeks and nasal folds and it smooths these away and gives my cheeks volume. I look fresher and plumper but not ‘done’ IYSWIM. I don’t want to look like I’ve had my face done, I just want to look like me but better.

I go to a Dr who I trust after doing a lot of research. Dentists are also meant to be very good as they know the structure of the face. Please don’t go to one of the salons that advertise a complete new face for £150, you need to really feel comfortable with the person you choose and you should be offered a consultation- again, if they go in with the hard sell I’d avoid.

My Dr told me what he could do, then what he would do. I wanted all this stuff but he told me we had to look at what’s possible, I can’t have Ultherapy cos my jowls are too fatty and they won’t reach the muscle properly. I trust him completely. In fact I’m seeing him in July for my first treatments since I got the all clear and can’t wait!

I know research is a pain but you’ve only got one face and it’s on show all the time so you have to make sure you get it right and are comfortable with your choice.

The Cosmetic Skin Clinic off Harley St has a good reputation from the press. See their website.

Yellow85 · 20/06/2021 20:40

Also try speaking to your dentist. That’s where I go. For me, I like the idea that they’ve studied facial nerve and structure in depth!

fiorentina · 20/06/2021 21:15

I’ve been to the aesthetic specialist at my dentist for Botox. She held a free consultation, spent a lot of time discussing options and when I went for the treatment advised I came back the following week as I had an inflamed skin breakout in the area and she wanted to be cautious infection wise, which made me feel more comfortable she wasn’t just about the £. When she did the Botox follow up was also good. I’d go back to her for other treatments if I wanted them.

SwimBaby · 20/06/2021 21:19

I go to a dermatologist who works at a private hospital. I found him by recommendation. I have botox twice a year and fillers once a year (varying it slightly each year). I’m very happy with the results.

RolyPolyBatFace · 20/06/2021 21:21

You need Dr Ayad. He has a clinic in London a couple of times a week. He's the best, bar none (in my opinion of course!) check him out on trust pilot etc

RolyPolyBatFace · 20/06/2021 21:21

Should put his full name! Dr ayad harb

A consultation at a clinic will help you to work out the tweaks that are possible and would help you feel better/more attractive.

Ensure they are a medical professional. There are many independent practitioners working from small clinics. There are also many that work from big name clinics too.

My dentist is crap and I am actually looking for a new one.. so feel free to share details of yours also Grin... since I came back from Canada (lived there for a few years) I just can't find a decent dentist that come close to the the standards practices over there...but I will save this for another thread ..

Interesting you can have your Botox at the dentist though.. Would not have cross my mind..

so is that easy to get licensed for sticking needles in peoples faces?

dorathyparker · 20/06/2021 22:10

@Goldenoodle thanks! Makes total sense.. can you recommend a clinic? That's why I was posting as I don't even know where to begin looking for the right place and looking for names/websites etc....my beauty regime don't go beyond the hair salon and the local nails bar 😀..and I don't know of any beauty clinics in my areas.. x

@RolyPolyBatFace just checked his website.. I can get to Oxford if he is The one (need to read a bit more a check reviews..) but omg it's an expensive "treat"!

With Botox... I heard that if you start you can't never stop .. or at least it will looks worst if you did.. is this true? And with fillers.. you need to come back every few months for top up? So is this the new waxing slavery...just a lot more expensive?

And Is it painful??

OP posts:
SwimBaby · 20/06/2021 22:30

My fillers last almost a year.

SwimBaby · 20/06/2021 22:33

I spend £800 per year on one lot of fillers and two lots of Botox so I put £60 away each month. Which is less than paying for one facial a month .

stevalnamechanger · 21/06/2021 00:17

Secret Aesthetics clinic .

Only ever use medical professional ran clinics !

Danidandan · 21/06/2021 09:58

@dorathyparker

I'm in Hampshire, she's based in Berkshire so it might be a bit far to travel! I'm more than happy to pass her details on if you wanted them though!

RolyPolyBatFace · 21/06/2021 10:08

@dorathyparker yep he's based in Bicester too and he's about the best

No none of that is true . You don't have fillers every few months and Botox isn't painful. Why not do some more research first as you need to get a little more clued up
