What is it. How much do you use? After drying or before

TIA

Shampoo, rinse, plenty of conditioner, comb it through, rinse.

Squeeze out excess water, wrap in towel for 5min.

A 50p sized dolop of olive oil if hair feels 'dry' (not actually dry because it's still half-wet at this point).

Mousse, a huge amount, enough to cover my palm and most of my fingers. That's it for products if I've used oil. If I didn't use oil then curl cream or gel is next, an amount that looks roughly like a sphere of an inch and a half diameter.

Comb it all through and style.

I have boob length fine hair and lots of it.

Extra virgin coconut oil (solid in a jar for a fiver) - spread that on your ends and leave for a couple of hours at least.

After you wash it off you shouldn't have dry ends anymore.

MissyB1 · 19/06/2021 17:22

I let my hair dry naturally (it's short) then use a small blob of Harry's taming cream, or very small squirt of Argon Oil.

longtompot · 19/06/2021 17:25

I use three pumps of Frizz Ease serum after conditioning my hair. I squeeze out the excess water before apply the serum to the ends. I wrap my hair in a towel while I get dry, moisturise etc. I then towel dry my hair and use a grape sized amount of V05 frizz creme on the ends and scrunch. It does seem to tame most of the frizz for me.

I’ve tried loads of products but I always come back to this leave in conditioner spray:

Equave by Revlon Professional Hydro Nutritive Detangling Conditioner 500ml www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0070P2E0C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7R519QX21NPVGAQHE1GA?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Watching with interest.

In the past I have combed conditioner through when wet and then used coconut oil on the ends, but the frizziness has been worse since pregnancy and I’m now 18 months on from that with no sign of any improvement.

Davines Oi hair oil on damp hair.

Aveda Dry Remedy oil. Pricey but lasts ages and smells lovely. Elasticizer mask once a week for swishiness.

MorrisZapp · 19/06/2021 17:58

Aveda damage remedy, but we warned it smells like 1940s consumption ward.

VaguelyInteresting · 19/06/2021 18:01

Tiny amount of nuxe oil. Like super tiny. Like, I use it on my body then just palm my hands through my hair, and the residue is enough.

I have a perm though, so my hair is thirsty.

Supersimkin2 · 19/06/2021 18:02

Any conditioner on wet, clean, hair. Leave it in. Don't rinse. Don't rinse (hard not to).

Changechangychange · 19/06/2021 18:03

Olive oil. Or any other oil, but olive oil is cheap and doesn’t smell of chips.

I use Cantu leave in conditioner, and either gel or mousse to hold the curls and prevent frizz. But dry ends definitely need oil, IME.

Supersimkin2 · 19/06/2021 18:04

Also works: fabric conditioner (same stuff as conditioner).

4PawsGood · 19/06/2021 18:07

Vitapointe mixed with a few drops of oil.

Was given a tiny bottle as a freeby and I’m still using it, only a tiny amount needed on damp hair before drying. I have fine hair so can’t use heavy products and it’s amazing. No fluffy, fly away ends, no frizz, no grease.

GiantToadstool · 19/06/2021 18:18

Palmers coconut oil spray

hamsterchump · 19/06/2021 18:21

@Laiste Lidl have Organic, extra virgin 100% raw coconut oil for only £1.65 a jar! It smells amazing.

Lanique · 19/06/2021 18:22

I use Moroccan Oil - the stuff in a brown bottle with a turquoise label that smells lovely. I use the one for fine hair so it doesn't weigh it down into a lank greasy mop.

LynetteScavo · 19/06/2021 19:44

I use L'Oréal Extraordinary Oil. This. It does the job. I'd like to try the Keratase one, but it's more expensive
I also use Bleach London Reincarnation Mask https://www.boots.com/bleach-reincarnation-mask-10250208?cmmmc=bmm-buk-google-ppccPLAsAs--(GB:Whoop!)+Bleach+London---(GB:Whoop!)+Boots+Shopping+-+Category+-+Beauty+-+Mobile&gclid=CjwKCAjwq7aGBhADEiwA6uGZp1HNKE2BMGrO77bmoNprT5qiFOyexXcx3rajAsqsQrIXo0FrhEgF8BoC11IQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

If you get Philip Kingsley elasticiser go for the extreme one. Superdrug do an elasticiser for a few pounds and I use that. It's not a copy, but it's good stuff.

Fashio · 19/06/2021 20:03

I’ve tried the oils. Thing is that my hairdresser dries it so it doesn’t looks fluffy and spikey. So wondering if it’s my styling

When wet L'Oréal extraordinary oil, but still slightly fluffy after that. And then when dry and getting ready for the day bed head after party.

Garnier 3 in 1 Hair food.
