I've acquired a cleavage, is it suitable for a wedding?

I've always been very slim but have hit 40, gained some weight and grown a fine pair of boobs. I've got a wedding to go to in the autumn, have bought a beautiful dress that's fully lined with a boned top section that gives me a cleavage. I've never ever had a cleavage before, I feel very exposed, I actually feel like I might as well be walking around with my boobs fully out. DH says I look lovely. I want to wear the dress but now I'm questioning if it's appropriate to have a cleavage in a church! It's not something I've ever taken notice of before and I suspect I'm being ridiculous but what's the general consensus on this?

joystir59 oh no, dont say that! I'm absolutely not trying to do that at all! It's a very close friend and I've been very mindful not to buy anything white/cream/lacey/matching with bridal party . I didn't even know it was boned until it arrived! (It's preloved so I only had 1 picture to go off).

I have big boobs , frankly you can't help it in most outfits . A lot of dresses are designed Like this so just wear it!

Disfordarkchocolate · 31/05/2021 07:25

You look lovely, definitely wear the dress.

LemonRoses · 31/05/2021 07:25

No. Sorry. Not elegant at all. Fine for a dance on a cruise ship, but not a traditional church wedding.

Passthecake30 · 31/05/2021 07:29

Could you add a small strip of satin across the front if you’re unsure? Also, how tall are you? Will people be peering down into your chest all day long?

MaybeWeShouldGoToEastbourne · 31/05/2021 07:31

You look absolutely knock out OP!

Mincepiesallyearround · 31/05/2021 07:35

You look fab op! It might be an idea to wear the dress out a couple of times to dinner or drinks out so you can work out if you’re going to end up feeling self conscious in it.

Lowlight282 · 31/05/2021 07:35

I think I'll wear it around the house a bit to get used to it and ask my mums opinion. Plenty of time to find something else and I can resell it if I decide not to go with it. Thanks everyone.

I would wear it to a wedding with pride. And so should you OP. We have breasts for goodness sake.

You will not upstage the bride.

I have taken into account that it is long too. The “rules” say you can have tits or you can have legs. You shouldn’t have both.

SoMuchForSummerLove · 31/05/2021 07:37

You look lovely! And it's balanced by not showing a load of leg.

Upstaging the bride by owning boobs Confused

StarlightLady · 31/05/2021 07:38

PS: Don’t spoil it by adding bits of fabric that shouldn’t be there!

Lowlight282 · 31/05/2021 07:40

The irony is that I've wanted breasts my whole life and now I've got them I'm self conscious of them!

You look lovely in that, it is not inappropriate at all and you have an amazing figure!

TenThousandSpoons · 31/05/2021 07:42

The dress looks absolutely lovely.

MistyMinge2 · 31/05/2021 07:42

You look lovely and it looks wedding appropriate imo. Definitely wear the dress.

Onlinedilema · 31/05/2021 07:50

It's a no from me, too low.

marie8989 · 31/05/2021 07:51

I think your cleavage looks fabulous in that dress, but not too much or inappropriate, wear the dress around the house just to make sure everything stays in place and your wearing the correct bra but honestly i think the dress looks great

fearfulfran · 31/05/2021 07:53

Looks lovely and not too much at all. The lack of leg balances it out too. It's one of t'other

That is lovely op! Perfectly appropriate for a wedding!

Wear the dress and enjoy the wedding!

MissTrip82 · 31/05/2021 07:54

@joystir59

Boned dress showing cleavage? Hope you aren't aiming to upstage the bride
You go to a lot of church weddings where cleavage is the main feature of the bridal gown?

Goodness.

In any event, the picture makes it clear that this is not what’s happening.

Amrapaali · 31/05/2021 07:56

No from me too sorry. Maybe try with a different bra? This one makes your boobs look squashed together uncomfortably. You need a well structured bra that lifts and separates each boob

Yellowcrockpot · 31/05/2021 07:57

Upstanding the bride Grin
C'mon MN stop being so dramatic.

OP, you look incredible, its a beautiful dress, very elegant, and take it from someone with huge boobs, nobody will think twice about yours in that dress.

It's causing you concern as you're not used to the size, but you have nothing to worry about.

Hope you enjoy the wedding Smile

Yellowcrockpot · 31/05/2021 07:57

*upstaging

whatswithtodaytoday · 31/05/2021 07:58

You look lovely, completely appropriate and still slim. Enjoy your boobs!

How the fuck can cleavage be outdated, pp? We can't all go around in those hideous high-necked dresses that are in fashion at the moment, they look terrible on big boobs and those of us who are well endowed can't just magic them away because they're not fashionable at the moment Hmm
