Help me find a skirt to go with...

...this top

I want to wear the top with a skirt and black tights (thick) with these shoes in black

I want a skirt that is partyish and short - well, mid thigh or at least above the knee.

I can't find anything suitable anywhere.

Heeelp!

dexter73 · 16/11/2007 16:42

What colour are you after?
Monsoon has this or this.

JackieNo · 16/11/2007 16:48

Something like this?

JackieNo · 16/11/2007 16:49

Or this?
Probably too much satin.

JackieNo · 16/11/2007 16:51

Silver?
Not a flattering picture but might be better on.
Lots of volume.

JackieNo · 16/11/2007 16:53

Velvet would be good with that.

Elphaba · 16/11/2007 17:52

Ooh some great suggestions there! Will browse that Littlewoods site!

Don't really want a straight one - the tulip shape or flared/bell shaped ones are what I have in mind.

Would love a teal colour but can't find one anywhere.

Otherwise I'd go for silver or dark grey/gun metal type colouring.

The teal skirt on the home page for TopShop looks nice but I can't find it! Arrrghg!

Some good ones on ASOS.

Gemy · 16/11/2007 20:32

I think because the top has a modest neckline and already has pleating, a pencil skirt - on the knee - would add sexiness and create a very flattering silhouette [perhaps add a waist belt too?] and look great with the shoes.

There's one here but it looks grey, even though the page says black..

Or there's this but maybe too much satin

Oasis has quite a few too:

Hmm, yes, pencil skirt would look nice. Just not as comfortable but will try on and see!

Mmm yes I understand. If not the pencil skirt, perhaps an 'as short as you dare go short' a-line skirt? The short skirt would also look good with the thick black tights and very "on trend".

I wouldn't personally go for anything with pleats as you may end up with a more "mature" look to the overall outfit, and the top you've bought may cover the top of the skirt (and so where the pleats start), which I don't think is ideal.

Elphaba · 17/11/2007 15:05

I like the look of the teal skirt on this homepage but I can't find it on the site!

Argh! Really I want teal or purple.

I agree with Jackie asos.com is the future!! boohoo.com also have some lovely stuff. Love the top though!

Elphaba · 19/11/2007 10:09

Thanks all - yes the top is lovely, I love it. Very simple but very flattering.

I really like that Chloe skirt - can I really let a £215 skirt go when it's only £86?! Hmmmm...thinking about it!
