Perfume dupes

PeacheyPeach · 14/05/2021 09:04

Hi all, I see so many adverts on Facebook of people in the area advertising these perfume dupes, saying they are made in same factory not fakes etc think its called FM or something. Anyway has anyone actually ordered any and are they good copies? Do they smell the same or does it smell like a cheap copy 😅

I use perfume parlour, scents are very good and cheap

selfieelf · 14/05/2021 09:29

I have tons and they all smell almost identical. Perfumes smell different on different people so even if someone noted a very slightly different note they'd just assume that was why.

They don't last as long on the skin as the originals but I make sure to spritz my clothes and the scent will still be there the next time I pick that item up out the drawer. At that price you can carry on your bag and reapply.

Go for the "royals" for best quality

selfieelf · 14/05/2021 09:29

Identical to originals I mean, not to each other! The Dior hypnotic poison is particularly good

Elieza · 14/05/2021 09:52

I have Federico Mahora - Aqua di gio (FM’s number 7).

It’s an excellent copy. Parfum too not edt.

I also have Milton Lloyd, Stars (like alien) and their Woman America Pink (copy of Jean Paul galtiers original perfume in the woman shaped bottle)

All have been excellent.

I also have Yodema copy perfumes. Can’t remember what they are as I didn’t smell the originals I just liked the smell of the testers so ordered them, but they have changed colour despite being kept in the dark at room temperature. So presumably they have gone off. Despite being my most recent and kept with all my other perfumes.

PeacheyPeach · 14/05/2021 11:52

Thanks everyone x I really want a new jo Malone pomegranate noir perfume but can't really justify the price at the moment, maybe I will give the FM one a try then x

I tried Perfume Parlour but ended up chucking them away. They do smell synthetic and I wasn't sure about the safety of them tbh.

Ah yes I had this with the essence vault

If you want a Jo Malone dupe, the Primark ones are good. Student DS loves the Jo Malone Lime, Mandarin & Basil but uses the Primark one for day to day. The Jo Malone has slightly more depth if you compare them side by side but they are indistinguishable if you don't directly compare them IYSWIM? If anything, the Primark version has better staying power.

I also recommend the Aldi Jo Malone dupe toiletries for layering with the real perfume (or the Primark dupe). The real soap/shower gel are just too expensive to wash down the plughole every day!

@PeacheyPeach well worth it in my opinion. I bought a 52 for my partner 2.5 years ago, thinking 'well if it's useless it's my silly fault, too good to be true' sort of thing.

Anyway... it was a great match and I decided to join to sell the perfumes.

A poster above has said royals are higher quality, this is a common misconception, both the perfume ranges have the same strength, but the royal's raw ingredients cost a little more.

Hope this helpsSmile

Branleuse · 06/06/2021 07:47

Ive got some PP dupes and whilst not exactly the same, theyre pretty good in general.

FM world is an MLM and even if the perfume dupes are good, they are overpriced as propping up a top heavy pyramid model. Perfume parlour does a fantastic dupe for pomegranate noir at about £10 for a big bottle. I'm on my second bottle. I also have Gucci envy (discontinued), Gucci bloom and another Gucci perfume from there that are spot on. Definitely the perfume parlour not FM. FM lie about how their perfumes are produced and are generally shady.
MisiaMisia · 06/06/2021 11:21

FM is a polish MLM company. Their factory in Wroclaw, Poland, so no, their perfumes are not made in the same factory as original brands - and even if they were it would mean nothing. The guy who started it in the 90s (time when general population of Poland could not afford genuine perfumes), is a car mechanic and made fortune on it.

I recently ordered around 10 samples off Ebay, just to check how they were and they were bad - most of them were quite far from what they were trying to copy. To cover what they lack in composition and depth, they use higher concentration of synthetics, so the whole wall of scent hits you and the individual notes get lost in it.
The only one that was quite close to the original was Decadence.

On the side note I would rather look for good deals on line than buy dupes. Escentual runs 25% off everything almost every month, there is allbeauty, notino, parfumedreams etc.

MisiaMisia · 06/06/2021 12:20

And they are not cheap
FM Royal is £27 for 50ml
plain bottles are around £17 for 50ml

Just a quick look at Escentual:
Girl of Now Shine and Girl of Now Forever are £25.20 for 50ml (£18.90 when they are running 25% off)
MK Twilight Shimmer 30ml £19.80 (£14.85 with the offer)

From allbeauty:
30ml Ellie Saab La Parfum Royale £19.95
100ml Versace Vanitas £25
75ml Cavalli £25

Also Hot UK Deals is great for finding good perfume offers: two weeks ago Boots had almost all Guerlains down to £10 , £20 on their website.

epsilonzetaeta · 06/06/2021 12:35

Try Eden Perfumes in Brighton. They have a shop in Brighton and do mail order. I think they also have a shop in London. All of their perfumes are vegan and don't trigger my asthma like those from the Perfume Parlour.

I wear Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir and Oud and Bergamot. The Eden version of Pomegranate Noir is not quite the same but close. It is very nice in its own right. The Oud and Bergamot is a better match. I only wear these two perfumes but friends who wear other perfumes say they are a good match. They start at £18 for a £30ml spray bottle which lasts ages. You can also get the bottles refilled.

Branleuse · 06/06/2021 12:38

i have the PP dupe for jo malone french lime blossom, which i think is discontinued now. It smells much stronger and not quite as good as the JM, but if i only use a tiny bit its pretty good

Branleuse · 06/06/2021 12:39

i keep on with it, as I havent found any other perfume that is lime blossom

ihatebindweed · 06/06/2021 13:31

I'd avoid FM as it's a MLM. I bet all these recommendations are from people selling it themselves.

floppybit · 06/06/2021 13:36

I wear the Primark dupe of the Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir and I have had four customers where I work say "oh, you're wearing Jo Malone, I love it!" I was really surprised. I've never owned the original but this shows it must smell like the real thing. It often sells out so if it's in stock I grab it. It smells gorgeous.

Yes it's an MLM but that's not a bad thing, it's purely a business model.

I've recommended FM but I've not disclosed my business name/ contact details so there's no benefit to me to recommend the products to the original post, I've just shared my recommendation for the original poster to make her own mind up.

I'm more than happy to send a free sample of your favourite original poster, then you can make your own mind up, no pressure 🥰

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 08/06/2021 20:56

MLM is not purely a business model. MLM reps are unpaid reps who are their own best customers. 90%+ of MLM reps lose money.

bouncystorm · 08/06/2021 21:29

@amz1707 How does it work then ? I assume you have to sell a certain amount to get commission each campaign? Who buys it, your friends on Facebook? We have a local lady selling it around here on our residents group, but from what I can see she mainly sells to friends oh and Recruits other people, because she gave up her full time job because she was making so much money, well so she says. The items are expensive for copies.

Geamhradh · 08/06/2021 21:38

Perfume Parlour is excellent. I have about 50 and some are better than the real thing as they tend to be dupes of original formulations rather than the modern formulations. The classics are really good. I have Opium and Rive Gauche for example and they are more like the vintage 80s versions I have than the newer reformulated ones. The only ones I'd say were slightly off kilter are Chanel and Guerlain, probably because both houses are known to have their own je ne sais quoi mix.
Jo Malones are all spot on. (mind you, everyone's dupes of JMs are, as they are simple fragrances so easy to do- Superdrug Bloom's Lime Basil Mandarin is fab for a fiver.

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 08/06/2021 22:40

Don’t go with Essence Vault. Atrocious and just not like the actual perfumes. Not for me.

I’ve tried DIVAIN who are great but thanks to Brexit, don’t deliver to the UK anymore.

amz1707 · 09/06/2021 06:31

Hello, good morning ☀️
You earn instant profit off each item you sell, ie the difference between the ‘wholesale’ cost and retail price.
Then also there is the compensation plan which gains you commission.
I sell to a variety of people: friends, people that choose to follow me on social media etc. I very much hate a ‘pushy salesperson’ when I walk into a sofa shop etc, so I am exactly the same in my way of selling; share the information, be knowledgeable and then step back and be there if there are any questions.

Yes there are people making lots of money from the business, but there is no guarantee of making lots of money, of course, like any business. I’m a teacher and do this alongside, I really enjoy it. And the extra cash it brings in has helped us.

Hope this answers your questions, I’m in no way looking for any kind of argument, just wanted to answer your questions 😀
