Advice needed! NuFace or Foreo?

Let me start off by saying you lot are all a horrible influence on me! I'd seen the micro current devices before and thought they looked like sex toys, and has assumed they were just a gimmicky waste of money. Then came across another post on here about the Foreo Bear and how great the results were. Did a quick google which led me onto the NuFace Trinity. Watched a few YouTube videos that demo'd it and sang its praises. I'm pretty much sold now on getting one of these devices, but they're not cheap and I don't have a load of spare cash to spend, but had put some money away for Botox / fillers that I can use on this instead.

So, what I'd like some advice on is - which is better? The NuFace Trinity or the Foreo Bear?

I had kind of settled on the NuFace Trinity with the additional double prong attachment, but want to make sure I'm making the right decision given the amount this thing costs. Is one of these a better option for me, or is there an even better one I don't know about? Perhaps the Foreo Bear and the separate Foreo Eye device?

I'm 40, hooded eyes, beginnings of jowls, deep forehead and '11' lines and very fine lines under the eyes. Skin is changing texture a bit now.

Any advice, reviews, first hand experience or tips very welcome. TIA

Update! So a week on from using the Foreo Bear these are the results to my jawline! I'm beyond thrilled! Going to get the mini to do around my eyes and for more targeted areas. Can't believe I didn't know about this sooner.

Left is before, right is after 1 week. It's plumped my face back up. I almost had a square jowly look to my face before, but now when I look in the mirror I feel my whole face is rounder and softer looking.

I had also come across the tutorial below on Youtube so have been following that one.

Does anyone use both the mini and the full sized versions?

Does it hurt at all? I’ve heard it can be painful if you have fillings in your teeth.

Wagsandclaws · 23/05/2021 21:41

This looks really interesting, I can't believe your results after just a week op! You must be delighted 😀

kittycrackles · 23/05/2021 21:46

Good stuff. It’s amazing and worth every Penny . I manage to use the big bear round my eyes on- and my mouth too.

Wagsandclaws · 23/05/2021 22:32

The serum is super expensive - what else can you use instead?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 23/05/2021 22:53

@KillingMeDeftly - no it doesn't hurt. It's supposed to have an anti-shock function on it, but I find sometimes I do get a tiny shock if the gel I'm using starts to dry out so I just apply more. But aside from that it doesn't hurt at all.

@Wagsandclaws thanks, I only really started to notice a visible difference on Friday. I didn't see much in the first 2-3 days, but just figured I'd keep going with it. Now I will never stop lol. Im also only using not on the strength setting 3, but it goes up to 5. I use an ultrasound gel from Amazon. It was only about £5 for two big bottles of it.

@kittycrackles I do slightly glide over the skin near my eye and do my eyebrows with this as well, but going to eventually get the mini so I can get in closer. The mini is a lower frequency so I've heard it's safer for the eye area.

I'm so impressed and happy with the results so far. My skin is noticeably firmer to the touch as well. Even putting eyeliner on is easier and I don't even go that close to my eyes.

@WineGetsMeThroughIt
Before you run and buy the mini, I have the full size bear and found a YouTube video of the mini "workout" and just follow it with the big bear.
It seems to work fine. I have definitely seen improvement

Can you link the vid please?

70sduvet · 26/05/2021 20:21

I can't find the video to link now as it was a while ago and I've been sort of doing my own thing....possibly wrongly but it's working Grin
I know one was Susan Yara (annoying but gave decent info) and a lot of other American YouTubers showing the app and following the tutorial online.
Possibly search YouTube for foreo bear mini app and it might come up, I'm sure that's how I got there eventually

My bear results are nowhere near that good. My eyes are improved but not the mouth area. How long do you use it for each day? I do 5 strokes for each area. Can I do more than that? Is there any implications for using it longer? I wasn’t sure if it’s safe.

prawnmocktail · 27/05/2021 00:31

Does it do anything for deep wrinkles? Specifically nose to mouth lines and lines under the eyes? And can you use it in areas you've got filler in? And by it I mean either although I'm swaying towards the bear...

I follow this routine and do the jawline slowly 10 times holding at the temple. The other passes along the nasal folds and cheeks I do 5 times and the forehead I honestly don't count. Maybe 5-10x

I'm not sure of the effect it has on deep deep wrinkles, but it has definitely made a difference to my forehead creases. They're still there, but I do think they've got less prominent, especially in the middle of my forehead. It always feels tight now. To the point where I actually find it harder than normal to raise my eyebrows. It's like I've had Botox!

Are you supposed to feel anything when you use these devices? I got a generic one to see if I'd use it enough to justify getting a proper one. The lights work and it beeps but that's all that seems to happen.

prawnmocktail · 27/05/2021 03:37

Thanks Wine - I'll maybe splash out!

kittycrackles · 27/05/2021 06:58

I do a whole cycle on each area not just 5 sweeps. So one cycle each on : neck, each side of face( including eyes) each side of forehead and also one cycle on the mouth area. Easy to do when watching tv or browsing MN!

Willlow · 27/05/2021 10:29

@kittycrackles do you have to keep replenishing the serum or does it still work if its soaked in?

kittycrackles · 27/05/2021 11:42

@Willlow I find simply rewetting it with a bit of water is fine. I have only ever used ultrasound gel and most of the time it doesn’t need re- wetting at all and is as cheap as chips🙃

Laburnam · 27/05/2021 16:31

As a migraine sufferer can it trigger it?

Gimmeaminute · 27/05/2021 18:10

How do you work it i to your evening routine with regards to skincare, ie. do you need to cleanse, use this with aloe vera or whatever, cleanse again before any treatments?

Willlow · 27/05/2021 21:18

*@kittycrackles * Thanks, that's good advice to use u/s gel

honeybuns007 · 27/05/2021 22:44

I have the nuface trinity and the FOREO bear. I can't really tell if one is better than the other. The NuFace feels more luxe and I get weird sensations around my eyes and mouth which makes me think something is happening. The bear has a buzzing feature which annoyingly someone's stops working. No idea why. I prefer the feel of the NuFace and I like the prongs. I hadn't seen Tripollar. Sigh. More to think about. I have an MZ LED mask also. Too much time being spent on this crap 🤣

SunSeeker2 · 28/05/2021 08:30

I am really confused as these gadgets seems to work miracles for some and not at all for others. Just cannot make my mind up whether I need one or go straight for Botox and fillers.
