If you have what did you try and what did you think of it?

Yes and I do love them. Especially their face elixir. But you could probably find similar products cheaper elsewhere.

VioletCharlotte · 09/05/2021 12:43

It's so expensive! A friend of mine sells it and she gave me some samples, it was nothing special at all and I couldn't believe the price!

MintMatchmaker · 09/05/2021 13:02

I know someone who sells it. She puts a FB post up once a month asking if anyone wants anything, but no sales posts or recruitment.

I avoid it because it is MLM, but it is certainly not pushed the same way that others I know are.

A friend of mine is a Tropic rep. She’s a beauty therapist so sells to customers, not friends. She is really happy with the deal she gets and never feels like she needs to pressure anyone into buying.

I did like the Tropic products but I get everything from The Ordinary now because it is cheap and spectacularly good!

notapizzaeater · 09/05/2021 15:26

I've 4 of my friends all started selling it, my Facebook feed is permanently full of the bloody stuff!

Whiskersokittens · 09/05/2021 15:26

I don't normally support MLMs and most of their stuff is overpriced, but I have stuck with their beauty booster which is like a BB cream. It suits my skin and smells gorgeous.
You can order their products directly and pay postage, or buy from an 'ambassador' which is what I do as she's a friend.

Soulstirring · 09/05/2021 16:53

Ok, for the MLM element. I do wonder why some are some adverse, it’s a way for women to support themselves. My friend sells and uses tropic for her home beauty treatment service. She is never pushy, very professional and knows I will only buy if I like something. Everything is good I’ve tried but I am honestly put off by the cost. I like their ethical stance, vegan, recycling
Options etc.

I also use a lot of body shop and buy via a friend too. I’d rather support them that way. Each to their own.

If the products don’t stack
Up I won’t purchase/repurchase. My tropic friend lends out her products so people try before they buy.

BSintolerant · 09/05/2021 18:14

If it’s a way for women to support themselves why do over 96% of MLM reps lose money?

NavigatingAdolescence · 09/05/2021 18:18

Tropic reps don’t, do they? They don’t keep stock and orders are taken via the website.

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/05/2021 18:41

I was given a body pebble for my birthday and it cleared the psoriasis in my hair better than anything else I have ever used. 18 months on I am still scabby scalp free. I don't advocate MLM but order this directly from a website as it works.

Roamingaround · 09/05/2021 18:49

@NavigatingAdolescence, my understanding is that they buy a set of the products, their kit, at a discounted price. I guess this impacts their profit during the months they purchase kit but hopefully they will sell enough to recoup their costs. My friend certainly isn’t being pressured to have her own team, increase her sales or anything but she does post frequently on her Tropic page.

They are encouraged to lend out their kits though so presumably need to buy extras and the kit that you get when you pay £200 to join with is just the skincare range I think so none of the body stuff or make up.
NavigatingAdolescence · 09/05/2021 18:55

Ah. Mine doesn’t. She uses hers for her!

I was tempted to sign up just for the 25% discount - that first kit is a cost effective way to try most of the range too IMV. Absolutely not interested in selling the stuff.

Some do, others don’t.

I love their cleanser. I recently got a freebie of Estée Lauder cleanser, face wash and creams. Absolutely covered in spots! Back to my tropic! Other than the cleanser, I like the deodorant. Really impressed with it. Everything else is nice but expensive for what it is!
