Sweaty Betty leggings and camel toe

I bought some SB power leggings as I've read so much great stuff about them, but am I the only one to find the seam cuts right up their crotch giving camel toe? So annoyed as have been lusting after some decent leggings for a while. So what alternatives? I'm quite tall at 5'9 and a curvy size 10 (small waist big bum I mean) not particularly needing sucking in, just want nice squat proof leggings that don't fall down, wash well, and don't give me camel toe!

IUGA yoga pants from Amazon have been surprisingly good !
They wash well and have so far maintained their tummy control waistband.
Nice pockets too !

If you have long legs and a big bum pretty much everything high waisted can give a camel toe. I find sizing up on high waisted styles really helps - yes it does mean it sits a bit lower around the waist but you then don’t need to worry about crotch blisters (I got one once, trust me you don’t want them!!)

Ok either you’re pulling them up too far or they are too small for you. I’ve several pairs of sb and am the same size as you and don’t have this issue.

DumbestBlonde · 29/08/2021 22:04

What you wear underneath them might be a factor. I have Pure Lime shorts which are perfect for under everything, but my main exercise is cycling, a prime cause of prblems in that area.
Started wearing the when I was a size 6 - and now I am - um - not.....
Although not the same pair, obviously Blush

Oh OP, I share your disappointment with Sweaty Betty running leggings. So much money wasted, mine don’t even stay up and I end up looking like Nora Batty!! They feel cheap, look cheap and definitely give camel toe. I didn’t realise that it’s the same family as Boo Hoo and Pretty Little Thing. Same quality just with a hefty price tag.
I’m going to stick with my Nike running leggings from now on. My mum got me some fabulous ones from New York, but unfortunately it’s not a brand we get over here.

Bluntness100 · 29/08/2021 22:12

You get Nike in the Uk. Are you not in the Uk?

MummyJ12 · 29/08/2021 22:30

Yes @Bluntness100 in the U.K. and can get Nike no problem but not the brand that mum got in the U.K. (I’ll go upstairs and read the label, can’t even remember the brand name!)

MummyJ12 · 29/08/2021 22:35

The label doesn’t say what brand it is. Does anyone recognise this logo….?!

Sweaty Betty leggings and camel toe
MummyJ12 · 29/08/2021 22:41

Sorry, typo. Mum got them in the US (New York) not U.K. I haven’t seen the brand before.

Passthecake30 · 29/08/2021 22:49

Try some tall leggings like rainbow and sprinkles, llama leisure, sturdy by design.

Anordinarymum · 29/08/2021 22:50

If you wear a panty pad you won't get camel toe. Simples

Northernsoullover · 29/08/2021 22:51

Try an extra long panty liner. It hides everything!

OhRosalind · 29/08/2021 23:05

Lululemon do a pair without a centre seam that is designed to avoid this issue. It’s called ‘all the right places’ style I think. I haven’t tried them myself though.

emma6776 · 29/08/2021 23:52

SB powers don’t give me camel toe but the soft all day leggings do, which is a shame as they’re so comfortable x

AnnieSnap · 30/08/2021 02:21

I found this when I first got mine, then lost a little weight and they were fine. I think the poster who suggested you may have too smaller size could be right!

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2021 07:57

Yes the only way they give you camel toe is if they are too small, or pulled up too high, or both.

Can you return them for a bigger size op? It’s very likely going to solve the issue.

AnnaDyne · 30/08/2021 08:23

Maybe they're too small for you? I am similar size and height and buy a medium which seems to be the wrong size, but is the right size actually.

AuntieStella · 30/08/2021 08:27

Decathlon - squatproof, lots of useful pockets and drawstrings (which would be useful for OPs disproportionately small waist)

MummyJ12 · 30/08/2021 10:02

My Swetty Betty leggings are too big I think (hence the Nora Batty effect!) they still give me the dreaded camel toe 😱 the size definitely ain’t the issue. Just rubbish design.
I found out where my ultimate running leggings were from. Ideology at Macy’s, gonna have to cough up a hefty shipping fee but I think I can get my hands on some.

Insertdeadcatsnamehere · 30/08/2021 16:08

I'm the same height as you but a size bigger and had the same problem (tried a couple of different sizes). They wouldn't stay up either. I have a long body and came to the conclusion that the rise wasn't big enough. Got some Nike running trousers in the end.

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2021 16:12

Then you’re pulling them up too far. I’m sorry but you are. That’s the only way they can give you camel toe. If they are crumpling round your ankles, which is I assume what you mean by Nora batty then they are too long for you and to compensate you’re pulling them up too far and giving yourself camel toe in the process.
Franklyfrost · 30/08/2021 16:16

Nike and bam do ones with a big diamond between the legs. You need to check they’re squat proof tho, some are and some aren’t

Spodge · 30/08/2021 16:42

The Nike One line has a really long, narrow gusset that goes halfway down the inner thigh. They have a centre seam at the front and back, but the gusset seems to make all the difference.

Llamadog · 30/08/2021 18:04

It’s just a body shape thing. I am 5ft 10, 12/14, long body, short legs and sweaty Betty powers and the running leggings fit me perfectly in a medium. I used to wear Nike and loved that until I found SB. It’s not about one brand or another being crap, it’s just about finding the ones that work for you.
