Is anywhere actually doing bra fits?

I've just called one store and they are only doing shop floor measures where basically I have to do the.measuring myself and no one can try the bras on.

I'm going to be in MK this week for shoe fitting so I'd like to combine the two.

I can't think of anywhere that is offering them at the moment. Use the boob or bust measuring tool online then buy in store with the possibility of needing to return and exchange.

Bravissimo

Sadie The Bra Lady shops if you live near one. Having lost a lot of weight, I am beside myself with excitement that I have an appointment at 2pm today! These are weird times Blush

skeggycaggy · 12/04/2021 12:45

We ended up buying DD’s bras at M&S & going into the toilets to try them on, so we could return them straight away & buy the next ones to try on...

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/04/2021 12:46

Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near Darlington or Sunderland 🤣

Well done with the weight loss , not crazy at all I.hope you enjoy your fit and get some.lovely bras Smile

Thank you Smile. Bravissimo have shops further afield.

I might pop into bravissimo . Worse case scenario I can order online once she's measured.

How did your fit go?

Bangkokbaby · 12/04/2021 19:06

I had an online zoom fitting with bravissimo. They were great. It wasn't my local shop that did it, it was something from Newcastle. I'm surprised they were able to get an accurate fit from a video call!

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/04/2021 19:08

That is some skill!

Could you or your dd measure and see what sort of size she is?

If there are more than 5 inches between her under bust and over bust measurements then that is DD.

A - 1 inch
B - 2 inch
C - 3 inch
D - 4 inch
DD - 5 inch
Then its E, F, FF, G, GG, H, etc

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/04/2021 19:17

I did measure but it must be wrong cos it comes up as a 30 ( which wouldn't fit and hasn't fitted in a long time ) if I was to guess I'd say she's either a 32dd or a 34 c.

OP posts:
Whatwouldscullydo · 12/04/2021 19:21

Shes currently in a 32c /32 d ( 2 different types of bra) neither fit any more

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 19:54

If she measures 30 underneath then that's her back size. If the cup isn't big enough it will make the back feel tight. What dress size is she? What cup size did it give her when you deduct full bust measurement from under bust value?

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 19:54

Sorry I mean deduct under bust measurement from over bust measurements

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 19:56

34C is the same cup volume as 32D so would be too small

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/04/2021 19:58

Rigby & Peller are doing fittings again but you'll need to travel to London (or Cambridge / Guildford).

They really are the best though so worth a trip.

M&S are doing their bra fitting services as we booked one for oldest DD on Friday. They were booked up all week & only had 2 slots left on the Friday.
I know M&S gets trashed a bit on here for bra fitting but I've always found them excellent.

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 20:17

M&S tend to add inches to the back size and give a bra too big in the back and too small in the cup. They put me in a 40C and I'm actually a 36GG

Whatwouldscullydo · 12/04/2021 20:19

I know about about volume I was just unsure whether it was the cup or band that's too tight. She was measured in Victoria secret last time which was a pleasant experience. We have also done Debenhams but they obviously are closed now.

I'm.back at work this week so unfortunately getting to London is not feasible as I have to go to mk for the shoes. So I'm really pinning hopes on bravissimo now with perhaps a trip to primark after I purchase the one courtesy bra Blush

I have purchased bras before in m&s but their sizing was really weird fir us. She measured elsewhere at the same size we had purchased to try from m&s and it was several inches to small Confused if all else fails there is one there so I can pop in queues allowing

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 20:20

Did you get an idea of cup size from your measuring?

dementedpixie · 12/04/2021 20:21

I was just coming on to say M and S too. I know they are not popular on here, but my DD has needed a bra for about a year now and we've not had any luck with my attempts to measure her and trying on bras bought online. So even if its only for 6 months or so until normal life resumes, M and S will have to do as they are the only place near me that are doing fittings.

fizbosshoes · 12/04/2021 20:24

I really need to get DD measured. She wears a 30D but I think it might be a bit small (cupsize) shes been wearing that size for over a year but I know shes grown since then and I've just been buying crop top style bras (at her request) but I'm not sure they're supportive enough.
