This is week 3 of the ninth WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007.

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a result. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, even though it's autumn
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Last night dh cooked an AMAZING crispy duck and roast potatoes (roasted in duck fat) and veg and wine. And Baileys (dh is getting into Christmas drinks mode, most odd!). We watched Die Hard (the original with Nakatomi Plaza, most amusing and retro) on our big screen and at 10.30 I went to bed. Woke at 3.30am though and didn't manage to get back to sleep til 5.30 and then dd came in at 6.30 but we went back to sleep so that was ok. It's a lovely drizzly winter day today, may walk later. Have just had soft boiled egg and dippies made with white bread and slathered with cold butter, gorgeous.

Bama, the quiet contemplation sounds lovely.
batters, ah dd sounds sweet
sobernow, nice to see you
well done everyone

Will start another thread later today so confess all your sins here first!

Batters I too have a 9yr old with attitude, along with the 11yr old and 13yr old, lol. DS3 is one of those children you either "get" or you don't, and just this morning friends have said they have to hide their faces if he starts, because he is quite funny when he's answering back.

Had a mixed weekend so far.

It has been really peaceful having just DS3 at home, although he hasn't been here much with karate and rehearsals. Did take the opportunity to sneak back to bed yesterday afternoon for an hour or so - good job cos we were both awake half the night coughing.

He has been entertaining when he has been around. All three lads are lovely when we manage to get some one-to-one time.

We took him out for a meal last night and I impressed myself by eating two bowls of salad....alongside the chicken dripping in herb butter, lol. We had desert at home as DH had to shoot off to work - and we ate far too much of course.

Having been dragged out of bed by DS3 to attend the early service at church, ended up having chocolate raisins for breakfast - well it's fruit, does it count??

No alcohol (halo emoticon required) don't feel I could cope with the alcohol as I'm on my third cough and cold in four weeks, although maybe the alcohol is required to kill the germs once and for all.

Have decided to eat what I want today as I'm feeling grotty, and get back on track tomorrow. Only five weeks for our holiday (and Christmas of course).

Peace officially ends at 2 pm.

Handbag is big and black and slouchy - exactly the bag that is missing from my already extensive collection. And it's got a caribiner (sp?) fastening, becuase I'm going climbing on wednesday (as suggested on my "find me a non result orientated hobby thread) and dh thought it was apt - bless him. As the last time he went away he bought me a lovely, but so completely not my taste brown suede loewe bowling bag with gold trimmings, I have to applaud his improved listening skills.

I had more wine last night (a robust aussie Shiraz here as well bama, to go with sausages, mash with cream and cider and onion gravy). And so far today I've had 3 coffes, a slice of cake, (spent the morning at soft play reading papers whilst dh had a deserved lie in) and dh is now cooking me a bacon and egg sandwich. BUt Janice (our personal trainer)is coming later and I think she'll probably force me to box.

Hope the McD's was nice Duch - sometimes it just has to be done doesn't it.
FIS - we have an apple tree in our garden that is great for climbing. My two are still a little young for it, but I can't waituntil they start - I have photo's of me on my wedding day at my parents house sitting in the tree that I used to climb - soem of my favourite memories are around that tree.

Marina, I don't make Xmas cake, for the same reasons as you, and as you may remember I go totally overboard on everything else. We aren't actualy having anyone here this year, so I've decided to just have a simple party for 100 of my closest friends the wekend before! It's just not a proper Xmas for me without some form of entertaining and resultant stress.

www- good luck on Monday
