Stitch fix or lookiero?

So I’m looking for some new clothes, and trying to get out of a style rut.. I’ve had some luck with my cooking rut with things like HelloFresh, so wondered if the above would do the same for my style?! Has anyone used either, and would you rate them or not? Online reviews aren’t really helping as they go both ways. I’m 5’3” and a size 6/8, 37 years old and a wheelchair user. (If any of that sways your answers 😂)
And if they’re a big fat nope, can you suggest some shops or websites to try. Thanks!

A friend just tried both. Didnt like Stitch fix at all. Kept all of the Lookiero items, though I'm not sure i would have done.

Misty9 · 10/04/2021 21:13

I've had two boxes from stitch fix now, and kept one item from each. It's difficult to evaluate them as I'm the sort of clothes shopper who could take 40 items into a changing room pre-covid, and only a few fitted and even fewer looked good. So I'm hard to please! It hasn't really shaken my style up much but I'm not sure what I'm looking for either.

Not sure if that helps!

Tomcullenisahero · 10/04/2021 21:14

I used Lookiero and loved it. I hate clothes shopping so thought I'd give it a go as you can send everything back, you just lose your £10 styling fee. I kept everything from my first two boxes and only sent back a couple of items from the last box. I cancelled due to lockdown and working from home (PJ's and trackies at the moment lol). When things get back to normal for me I'll definitely start using them again. I found their customer service helpful too.

PollyThePony · 10/04/2021 21:18

I've done Lookiero a few times. The first box, I kept everything, BUT, I have since got rid of every, single item, so they weren't really keepers after all!

The second box, I kept two items. Again, I have since got rid of those items.

The third box, I kept one thing (a jacket). I still have that and I use it a lot.

So, all in all, the whole idea probably isn't for me. I'm fairly minimalist with my wardrobe, and I'm careful about what I add to it, (usually - the first two Lookiero boxes were moments of lockdown madness tbh). I don't think it really works efficiently if you are really careful with what clothes you buy. You would be a lot better researching what you want and buying the exact thing you want.

If you like trying new trends though, I think it could be good. The items I got were all fine, just not exactly right.

Misty9 · 10/04/2021 21:34

I mainly concluded that I really dislike online shopping of any kind!

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 10/04/2021 21:46

@PollyThePony I guess I’m looking for something a bit different? My usual go tos are boden jersey dresses, leggings and tunics, or jeggings and jumpers, but I’m not really sure what would suit me, or where to shop. Trends seem more aimed at teenagers and I want to avoid being mutton dressed as lamb!

No, I think what you are after is what they are really good for op. If you know your shape and are a pretty standard size, (even different sizes top and bottom), I think they are good. Especially if you want to try out something you wouldn't normally pick out yourself.

That isn't for me, (I realised a bit late), as I tend to wear boring classic pieces, I know what I like wearing and I don't really want to deviate from that. Don't I sound FUN Grin?!

Meripenopause · 11/04/2021 09:27

I have used both. Stitch Fix started well and I kept a bright green shirt dress and a turquoise top. I wanted to keep that stylist, but the next 2 boxes were different stylists and I got variations on the Mint Velvet leopard sweater and flared cropped jeans - in colours and styles I had indicated I didn't like.
They also sent trousers that were 2 sizes too big (not my-size-but-big, actually the wrong size) and a very nice necklace which unfortunately snapped on 2nd wearing.
In the meantime my 17 year old daughter got a Lookiero box. It included super-skinny jeans, a blazer and a slouchy shirt. She she likes the puffy-sleeve, bare midriff look, so I kept her things as they are easy, inexpensive basics. I've had a couple more Lookiero boxes and kept the same stylist. I liked 3 out 5 both times. The last box was a hassle to return, so I'm not in a hurry to get another just yet.

PolarnOPirate · 11/04/2021 09:31

I had my first box from stitch fix the other week after reading a thread here, I have a free delivery code if you want it. They got my style right - I liked everything that was sent:

Amazing comfortable jeans - kept, I never find comfy jeans
Stripy T-shirt - sent back as have lots similar
Oversize jumper - have similar, liked but it swamped me so sent back
Denim shirt dress - didn’t fit but loved
Lovely bag - loved, almost kept but decided £70 was too frivolous for me and wouldn’t use as more in the nappy bag phase of life.

Can’t wait for my next one!!! I did all the preamble for lookieroo a month or so ago but didn’t go through with it, can’t remember why, probably just having a skinflint day.

jobbyjg · 11/04/2021 10:54

I got my stich fix yesterday my 1st box. Loved everything keeping everything was really impressed

PollyThePony · 11/04/2021 11:44

Yes, I also found the returns process with Lookiero to not be that easy. It was fine. No worse than other shops, but since, in other shops, you are selecting your own items and not getting a bunch of, (sometimes quite random), stuff to try, it seems more worth the hassle returning those things. It also took quite a long time for them to acknowledge receipt of the returned items, which meant I had it in my mind that I had to chase soon.

These issues are obviously not a big deal, but, since the reason I did it in the first place was that it is meant to take some of the inconvenience out of shopping, I found the minor flaws with the process disproportionately annoying!

ferretface · 11/04/2021 14:07

Try Thread for Women instead of stitchfix or lookiero, you can tailor it more and only buy what you already think you'll like.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 12/04/2021 13:17

Well I’ve ordered a box, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I get.. will maybe have to update and ask for opinions!

Which did you go for in the end?

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 12/04/2021 14:40

I went with stitch fix, because I liked more of the bits on their Instagram. Depending on how I get on I might try one of the others next time..

I have a stitchfix code here if anyone wants to use it: StitchFix

Does anyone have a Lookiero code I could use please?

GeronimosDisco · 31/08/2021 19:36

I've had 2 stitch fix orders, the first one a beautiful Ichi dress that I would never have tried on. The second box tried on the day before a positive covid test. Their customer service is second to none, very personal and above all kind. They extended my return so that it would be safe.
I then spent 2 poorly shit weeks staring at a beautiful Whistles jacket that they'd sent me which I would have returned as rather expensive. I've kept it as my survived present and it's very beautiful and I feel fabulous every time I wear it. So for customer service alone I'd say Stitch fix.

Grumpasaurus · 31/08/2021 20:06

I have used both- Lookiero definitely gets my vote!

DocMarteens · 05/09/2021 15:27

lookiero.co.uk/user/referrals-landing?code=LKRAFF0EYXYC&mgm=c

Here's a lookiero code for anyone who wants to try it.

DocMarteens · 14/01/2022 20:18

£20 off code (don't know how long it will last for) lookiero.co.uk/user/referrals-landing?code=LKRAFF0EYXYC&mgm=c

I'm feeling pleased with these trainers. Never heard of the brand Tamaris but something I would never think to buy myself

Stitch fix or lookiero?
Northern12345 · 15/01/2022 00:02

Just in case anyone’s after a stitch fix order - here’s a £25 discount code

I’ve just had my 4th box and kept items from all
boxes, it’s helped push me outside of my clothing norms!

IvorCutler · 15/01/2022 22:53

@ColdTattyWaitingForSummer I noticed you on the what are you wearing thread and thought you looked really cool. Kind of giving Brighton vibes? Do you like Lucy & Yak? I could be way off the mark but your clothes looked fun and I feel like Lookiero and Stitch Fix aren’t really in that bracket.

tobee · 16/01/2022 22:38

Hmm I think that's a simplistic summary of the 2. If you search previous threads on stitch fix and lookiero I think subscribers have had very mixed results.

SusieSusieSoo · 16/01/2022 22:56

Have been doing stitch fix for a year. Had a face to face with a stylist last summer & she always does mine now. She has found me some lovely tops and I have 3 pairs of lovely jeans too. I never have time to clothes shop - I tend to like a good long search in tkmaxx and a lot of the shops I used to buy from have disappeared over the last 2 yrs, Also got a fab Boden summer dress altho most of the things I've kept have been their own brands

GettingStuffed · 17/01/2022 10:48

I suggest you watch some unboxing videos on YouTube as this will give you an idea of the items they send out.

I'm also using thread, they email you with outfit ideas which you can buy via their link.
