Anyone tried Stitch Fix?

I'm 5 months post c-section after DC2 and needing some new clothes ideally with some styling help!
Have come across Stitch Fix and wondering if anyone has used them?
What did you think of the clothes they sent you according to your stated preferences and sizes?
Really curious to hear your thoughts before I go ahead and try it!
Thanks 😊

Seeing this has reminded me to post my discount code! It's a £25 one so worth somebody having!

I've just received my 5th or 6th box and kept everything. There's been very little I've sent back; I think Stitch Fix seem to 'get' my style pretty well. I get really excited when I know my boxes are on their waySmile

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 06/10/2021 14:26

So interesting reading these comments-I’ve just got my latest box and it’s all starting to click for me and I’m getting some great stuff. Worth persevering I would say! I have a £25 discount code if anyone is keen to try it, PM me.

Ps don’t do what I did and fall down a rabbit hole of watching people unboxing their stitch fix deliveries on YouTube. Weirdly addictive Grin

BrownTableMat · 06/10/2021 14:52

Such obvious astroturfing

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 06/10/2021 15:19

What’s astroturf got to do with anything @BrownTableMat? Not sure what you mean!

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 06/10/2021 15:21

Ah just googled it-you think I’m a PR person advertising! I can promise I’m not, I’ve had some crap deliveries from stitch fix before and nearly cancelled but for me it seems to be working now. I’m a regular poster (who is enough of a loser to genuinely watch some unboxings on YouTube!) if you want to check my history. Or just believe I’m advertising if you want, doesn’t really matter!

sospspsp · 07/10/2021 10:29

I've tried stitch fix and it was so crap.
I thought (wrongly) maybe because they were 'stylists' picking out your clothes that the clothes would be interesting and original.
Instead you get a box full of supermarket clothes - at high street prices rather than supermarket prices. The look was school run (I don't have children!)
I had about 5 boxes before I gave up - it was actually quite time consuming trying things on that were never going to be suitable and packing/posting everything back.

You are better off booking childcare for the day and going to your nearest shopping centre/department store and choosing things for yourself. I don't think many women are that clueless about what clothing they like that they couldn't do a better job than stitch fix.

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 07/10/2021 10:58

Wow @sospspsp I didn’t realise they even did supermarket brands - I would not be happy to get those. Mine has been a mix of High St and their own brands which suits me, I wouldn’t be happy to get supermarket brands though! For me I find the drop off pretty easy as I live in a city and have a Post Office down the road and I enjoy the delivery and trying on so I don’t mind spending a bit of time on that part. I personally find it less hassle than ordering online from lots of individual places then dealing with their multiple returns processes when I inevitably send a lot back. Real shops just stress me out these days so I couldn’t face a whole day of shopping but if you can do that then I agree stitch fix probably isn’t for you.

MayorGoodwaysChicken · 07/10/2021 10:59

The other thing I’m thinking of trying is the John Lewis personal styling service as it’s free with no minimum spend and they have lots of brands under one roof - I think I could cope with that sort of in person shopping! Has anyone used that and found it good?

(Can you tell I’m trying to sort my wardrobe out at the moment?!)

Annoyedandirritated · 07/10/2021 11:01

I got my first box last week and kept it all! Can’t wait for the next one!

sospspsp · 07/10/2021 11:39

@MayorGoodwaysChicken - sorry I phrased that badly, I didn't mean literally supermarket brand clothes like Asda/Sainburys etc, just that they are very much like them!

I'm not knocking supermarket clothes, but you don't need to pay a 'stylist' to buy those sort of clothes, most large supermarkets have a selection these days.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 07/10/2021 13:12

I've just canceled my subscription, my boxes were 50/50 and usually either everything was great or everything went back. It's fun but I've never been a 'buy full price' kind of person and its just too spendy. I would consider a one off box for a specific event though!

JumperandJacket · 07/10/2021 13:51

Have never understood the appeal of this sort of thing. I always imagine the "stylist" is just offloading whatever end-of-line stuff they've managed to get on the cheap that month.

TertiusLydgate · 07/10/2021 13:57

I’d not heard of them but Rosie Ramsey is promoting them on IG. Apparently StichFix are dressing her and her husband for a tour.

Have to say, it does not look good. It looks like she’s had a spending spree in Asda.

WhyOhWhyOhWhyyyy · 07/10/2021 14:04

I used them for a little while and got some really nice stuff. I got a box every 2 months and usually kept 2 or 3 things.
But I’m someone who hates shopping and will wear the same things for years just because I can’t be bothered, so it was really beneficial for me. It also helped me to try new things that I wouldn’t have picked otherwise.
I stopped using it when I got pregnant because I don’t want to spend much money on maternity clothes, but would consider starting it up again after once my weight stabilises.

I was surprised at that choice as an ambassador too. I think she is a lovely looking woman who is always well groomed but she and Chris don’t really fit with how they are marketing everywhere else on social media. Not someone I would in any way class as a style icon or influencer.
Northern12345 · 29/10/2021 21:46

I love the idea of stitch fix to try and push me out of my comfort zone. I really enjoyed my first 2 stitch fix boxes - and kept 3 items from the first and all 5 from the second. This time the stylist has changed and they just don’t get me! Full of frumpy shapeless woolly things. Plus they sent me a top I’ve had previously which is poor. Is there a way to choose a good stylist?!

PS I have a limited time £25 off code if anyone wants it www.stitchfix.co.uk/invite/bhhtrf5rmg?pbid=12084262&sod=i&som=c

hopeishere · 05/04/2022 14:04

Anyone else still getting this? I've had my latest offer - most of it I would wear after rejecting several items in the preview. Nice top - but too similar to one I have, a Whistles sweatshirt, a Hush tee-shirt that is nice but not good quality, a horrible jacket and a dress that I need to try on to see if I like it. I am trying to buy less so this is a good way of restricting what I browse!

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 05/04/2022 14:48

I just got my first delivery and I was quite impressed. I kept a jumpsuit from Sugarhill Brighton, some Superga trainers and Boden jeans. Everything was a brand I had heard of and there was nothing I would have picked up myself when shopping. I sent back two dresses because they were too long on me which was annoying because I had made a point of stressing on my profile that because I'm only 5ft that's often an issue for me

I get stuck in a style rut and end up buying very similar things over and over again so it was nice to get find new looks. I've ordered another delivery soon.

I do one of these every couple of years. Some stylists are better than others but I nearly always end up buying a couple of things. I'm planning another one soon.
