No eczema anywhere else, but have dry skin and blisters round my eyes. Beauticican tells me it's eczema. Anyone experiened similar and found effective products to deal with it? Have tried Liz Earle eye products, E45 and sudocreme to no effect. Thanks.

My 14 year old DD suffers from this and it was very bad yesterday. I poured a few drops of olive oil into a cup of milk then dipped a cotton pad into it and gently patted her face a few times! Sounds odd but it's so much better today.

My pharmacist recommended Moo Goo when I had eczema round my eyes. It was originally formulated for cows' udders (!), it seemed to do the trick. The scalp one is safe to use around eyes.

I've had ezcema around one of my eyelids for a year and it is awful! I have no yet found anything that has settled it down, it's itchy, dry and red and angry! I've used loads of different steroids and creams including diprobase, aveeno, e45, cetraban, ointments, Vaseline and even coconut oil! My doctors are not really helping just fobbing me off with more creams. I'm beginning to think I'm allergic to something as after a week at work it seems to be worse.. Also seen someone say about blepharitis, may take a look into this. If anyone has any advice pleaseeee help!!!
I had it on my arms but after a year that's finally cleaned up after a new steroid cream ive got!

I get eczema around the eyes. I use cetraben moisturiser. I use sacra our ointment ( not cream when it really flares up) also use protopic but you need a dermatologist to prescribe you that. Definitely reccoomer seeing your gp.
Also keep make up brushes clean, change mascara regularly, always take eye make up off and limit how often you wear eye makeup.

Bodicea · 09/12/2015 20:02

Sorry that should say dactacourt ointment ( it's hydrocortisone with an antifungal element), although hydrocortisone should be ok too. Just make sure it is an ointment. All dermatologists prescribe ointment not creams but the gps haven't caught on to this yet.

DW has this every winter.

She has just been using Vaseline on it and it has stopped the itching more or less completely in a week.

Fozzleyplum · 09/12/2015 22:55

When I get this, I sort it out with Lush Celestial cream, which seems to be the only moisturiser which doesn't irritate and doesn't make my eyes puffy. If the eczema is really stubborn, I mix a small amount of 1% hydrocortisone with the cream, but only for one or two applications.

SuckingEggs · 09/12/2015 23:00

I used to get this every winter. It was really awful. And then I started applying nothing but a thin film of Vaseline each night. I've never had it since!

Aveeno moisturiser is amazing as it is oat based and oats are very soothing. When it is bad lie back, close your eyes and dab them with some oats in a sock/hanky/ tea towel which you have immersed in lukewarm water. The natural oats calm everything down and take away the redness and itching.

Graphite cream from books - it cured the eczema on my face

Boots!

Have had eyelid eczema very badly and elsewhere - used steroids(v. bad!) as was desperate but they didn't work that well. Found a natural balm called Pommade Divine that has worked wonders for me. Obviously eczema is very personal but worked for me and recommended to my sister, who is a severe sufferer, and she has had good results. Hope it helps.

amarmai · 17/03/2016 17:59

vaseline after washing keeps the moisture in .

Joey9909 · 20/03/2016 08:46

Try Aveeno for itchy

Thomkat24 · 07/04/2017 22:23

I have the same - I do not use anything or put water on my eyes as it makes it worse. Crying really irritates it too. It is 100% caused by stress. Try to be happy. Apparently according to the likes of Louise Hay it is caused by being "blind" to what it happening in your life. I also have vertigo which is apparently due to me not listening and being deaf to the truth. I have really started to think about what is making me so ill and stressed. It is direct cause of my worries about my children. Since I realised this the vertigo is better and the eczema is clearing up. Try to be happy and positive.

Any help with eczema is greatly appreciated. It only flares up when I am really stressed and I am trying to be relaxed but I also have vertigo! Any help but I can

Have it checked. I would rather that it be checked by gp rather than do any unnecessary medication that might just cause more trouble.

misscockerspaniel · 28/11/2017 14:25

I had bad eczema around my eyes for several winters running and tried loads of things. The only thing that worked for me (and I now use every day) is a tube of eye cream I bought from Waitrose called Argan A5 multi-action eye cream. It cleared the eczema.
