The perfect blusher?

Uptonogoodtoo · 25/02/2021 19:10

Looking to update my make up now that life is returning. Any recommendations for a blusher? I’ve heard it’s best to avoid powders as they can be aging? I’m late 30s and looking for a rosy coloured natural blusher. I’ve used Benetint liquid blusher which I quite like? I don’t wear much makeup but I do like a rosy natural glow.
Any suggestions?

This is the stuff you need. I have 2 shades, one pinky and one peachy and I love them. You only need the tiniest most tiny dot on each cheek. They have lasted me 5 years so far.

I was just about to say the same thing! I love the Adam Sandler blusher.

Hottesttrikeintown · 25/02/2021 19:18

I use NARS liquid in orgasm. Warning - a little goes a long way but with a dot it’s lovely and natural and gives a nice glow

buckeejit · 25/02/2021 19:18

Hmmm, I didn't know that powder was ageing but do agree that the Daniel Sandler stuff is good. I have it in cherub & might get the more peachy one, (even though I have about 10 other powder blushes!)

GuyFawkesDay · 25/02/2021 19:26

I like glossier cloud paint. Tiny amount needed

Girlintheframe · 25/02/2021 19:27

Glossier cloud paints are lovely.
I have dusk and it's very natural.

I've recently discovered the Shiseido cream blush that is almost mousse in texture it's really lovely and blends extremely well - it's almost as good as the Guerlain bubble blushes that were rudely discontinued that I used for years. For powder blush I don't think Hourglass can be beaten they are excellent.

Also heard this about the powder blusher. How / why is it ageing?

I have been using clinique cheek chubby stick but quite tempted to broaden my horizons and try something else.. as although the colours are really really, it doesn't seem to last on my skin for as long as the powder blushers do.

BrilliantBetty · 25/02/2021 19:35

*really nice

daisydalrymple · 25/02/2021 19:38

I’m 49. I use Nars powder blush in orgasm and find it really flattering.

peachypetite · 25/02/2021 19:40

Bobbi brown pale pink

Uptonogoodtoo · 25/02/2021 19:49

I just heard that powders could be aging as they sit on the skin? I have an hourglass one at the moment, but wanted to try something that wasn’t a powder.
Are the Daniel Sandler ones easy to apply? I’m after a rosy pink rather than a peach. My skin is pale but does tan a little in summer and I like to be able to ‘see’ the blusher.
I tend to wear cc cream, blusher and a lipstick that is my regime!
Thanks all.

This is my favourite blush too.
Uptonogoodtoo · 25/02/2021 19:55

I do like the Nars orgasm colour. I’ve used it before.

I use my lipstick as a blush. Moisturise and while it's sinking in, dot on lipstick and blend.

tofuschnitzel · 25/02/2021 20:00

I'm not sure how powder blusher would be aging. I have recently been experimenting with using lipstick as blusher and I love it! It's buildable and I can use what I have, rather than buying more blusher that I will never finish before it expires.

Londontown12 · 25/02/2021 20:03

Nars orgasm liquid is the best I also use Nars Luster in liquid

Anjelika · 25/02/2021 20:09

I wear blusher every day. My faves are from Benefit and Revolution - I have a massive Revolution palette which I got in the sale one year and it's amazing - so many lovely colours. I've also got a smaller Revolution palate which is good as well as an old Benefit tin with different colours in - Coralista is my favourite from there and I've repurchased an indivdual one. I've also got a small Benefit palette with an amazing colour for the summer months but they don't seem to sell that shade any more.

millymoo1202 · 25/02/2021 20:46

I’ve moved over to a cream blusher and it’s definitely better on my almost 50 yr old skin, Bobbi brown little black pot, I’ve had mine for almost 3 years

schmalex · 25/02/2021 20:48

I like the Nudestix ones. Very creamy and natural looking and they have a buffing brush in the end of the stick.

Melange99 · 25/02/2021 21:01

For those who don't like the glitter, Nars Deep Throat (powder) is the same as Orgasm without the glitter.

I think powder can settle in wrinkles, but if you don't have any, powder blushes won't be ageing.

I love Hourglass ambient face powders but don't rate their blushes.

Kintsugi16 · 25/02/2021 21:07

I’ve used Daniel Sandler, Glossier Cloud paint and Bobbi Brown lip and cheek tint.

They’re all excellent.

Greencabin · 25/02/2021 21:10

I'm another one who uses my lipstick as a blusher. Lipstick is so pigmented that you only need the tiniest amount - I mix it with a dot of liquid gold highlighter and dab it on the top of my cheeks - it stays on alot longer then other cream blushes I've tried and gives me a nice glow.

I know you said you are not keen on powders but Delilah do the perfect peachy coral colour called Clementine. It's a really light powder so it doesn't cake. I alternate between that and my peachy mac lipstick.

Gwenhwyfar · 25/02/2021 21:16

Anyone know how I could learn to use blusher to make my cheeks look thinner?
