So P50 is bloody amazing- any other equally amazing products out there?

BigButtons · 14/02/2021 09:21

So I splurged on P 50 less than a week ago( it is expensive) thanks to the help of lovely posters on here.
Seriously nothing has ever done to my face in 5 days what this stuff is doing . It’s hard to believe what I’m seeing. I will never be without.
Is there anything else that is this amazing?
I do use retin A but this is WAY better results wise.

Thanks so much. And also, do you double cleanse before you use it, or use moisturiser or how does it work?

BigButtons · 15/02/2021 20:35

@botemp The company just replied to my email- which is pretty impressive since it is the evening. Sadly they only send samples with orders but she said
"Masque Visolastine+ would be much more hydrating.
Masque Vivant is for unbalanced skin, combination to oily, with breakouts."

anyway- slightly off topic- but if anyone can recommend something to hydrate my face fire away. I just can't seem to keep it moisturised for more than about an hour atm Sad

Snail goo, if you're up for it. CosRX advanced snail 96 mucin power essence.

Timpeall · 15/02/2021 21:09

I love the CosRX mucin under a moisturiser. Very soothing on angry skin.

botemp · 15/02/2021 21:14

Yes, it's like a lush moisture sandwich. I hear there's a sheet mask version of them now too. Have you tried those by any chance? I tried the holy moly one when they released that but it was meh.

Timpeall · 15/02/2021 21:19

I haven't tried the sheet masks but I do have their All-In-One cream which isn't rich enough on its own for my dry skin, but works well as another layer in a hydration sandwich.

I'm up for anything that will give some lasting moisture to my face. Will go and hunt for it. Thanks.

I have been using my hada labo- hyaluronic serum under my moisturiser ( Nivea- I know but I don't know what else to use and the oils aren't cutting it any more- so nivea it its unless anyone can recommend something. I am not prepared to pay that much for the vernix stuff.)- anyway that hasn't helped. Is the snail goo different to the hada Labo?

OP posts:
botemp · 15/02/2021 21:45

Yeah it's pretty much the texture you expect snail goo to be and it hangs around on the skin surface longer, I use Hada Labo on top. Have you tried the Cerave Moisturising Cream? I find it a good one for winter and Tret combo. I get the tubes because I can't be bothered with dealing with the giant tub.

botemp · 15/02/2021 21:47

Since you already have HL, you can also try the seven skin method with that.

Timpeall · 15/02/2021 21:47

I found Hada Labo HA was irritating my skin. I persisted for a while thinking it was a product that benefited all skin types. But my face was happier when I ditched it.

BigButtons · 15/02/2021 21:48

@botemp I do have a cerave face wash that I used alongside a hada labo. I’m assuming the cream is different?

Yes, the cream is a moisturiser, not a cleanser. If you read the INCI it'll have you wondering what's so special about it but it just does the job really well, occlusive but not suffocatingly rich iykwim. I never really got on with the PM lotion everyone loves, it's fine but didn't wow me.

Off the back of this I’ve just purchased a tretinoin cream. I’ve been meaning to add this to my regime for ages and this was the push I needed. I already use a really nice retinol serum, so I’m going to alternate then and see how i get on.

botemp · 15/02/2021 22:03

Well that is new to me, is that the night cream? That's the only purple one I know, I thought it was only in the US for now.

BigButtons · 15/02/2021 22:06

yes the night cream- but eBay has some........

Good luck- go easy!

You’re right, I think I should start weekly and then build up. I fell down a rabbit hole last night with an influencer who recommended only using trey products twice a week. So I think I definitely need to go easier .

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/02/2021 10:56

So I received my order yesterday. I know it’s not strictly tret as that’s prescription only. It’s a french pommade called A313. It has a texture similar to Vaseline and you have to apply it to completely dry skin.

I put it on for the first time last night and it was absolutely fine. Not sure if I should apply it just once a week or twice a week? I’m thinking twice a week to see how my skin reacts. I know peeling can be an issue if you go mad.

I have a retinol serum I use without any issues so I might do one night A313 then two nights retinol serum then one night A313 🤔. I’m using Ultrasun 30 spf in the day under my make up as I got it in a beauty box. Not sure if I should use a stronger SPF? This is all new to me!

Corkina · 20/02/2021 09:46

I've just ordered the small version of p50w...I'll report back once I get it and start using it

BigButtons · 20/02/2021 09:59

@Corkina hope you enjoy using it.
Since my skin is tough and very non reactive I am now using the p50 in the mornings- followed by my lovely diy vit C serum and then buffered tret in the evenings.
No irritation so far, just lovely smooth skin🙂

Definitely worth a try, looking forward to using.
