So naturally I have dark circles. The added trouble is when I put concealer on (doesn’t matter what brand) it goes on looking like I have dry skin but when I have no make up it doesn’t look dry and doesn’t feel dry when I have no make up on?

My skin is very sensitive around my eyes so have to be careful what I use around them. I am prone to eczema but don’t have any at all a present.

I use Mac Pro longwear concealer at the moment and the foundation.

I have dreadful dark circles and have recently discovered pale pink colour corrector - this lightens the dark areas so much that I no longer need concealer. Once the corrector is applied, it’s invisible, no dryness or caking.

Bananaman123 · 13/02/2021 15:34

Another vote for corrector, i use a pale peach as very light skintone. The formula is a bit more oily than concealer so i think it sits better. I use the rimmel one

Drawmelikeoneofyourfrenchgirls · 13/02/2021 15:38

I don’t know if it’s one you’ve tried but I find nars concealer very good

Whatnamesareleft · 13/02/2021 15:38

I have tried corrector and it still is patchy?

Can/do you moisturise around your eyes before applying concealer? I use eye cream as a concealer base, and usually find it goes on smoothly. Eucerin eye creams are quite good.

Melange99 · 13/02/2021 16:35

@Coffeepot72 which corrector do you use? My DH told me I looked like a zombie last night. He wasn't wrong, I have sinus issues and they are bad at the mo. It has a knock on effect on my eye circles.

Moomoolandmoomooland · 13/02/2021 16:39

I use a revlon eye primer/colour corrector. It's light pink and does the trick. It doesn't look dry. I put it on after my moisturiser and before my foundation. Usually, I only need a tiny bit of concealer if I use it.

Twistedrainbow · 13/02/2021 16:58

I have found something that works for me recently. It's a yellow colour corrector from Nip Fab. It took ages for me to try it, as I thought the yellow would be way too bright but it properly calms down the dark circles, and I pop a little concealer over the top (maybelline instant anti age eraser) .and I'm done

Coffeepot72 · 13/02/2021 17:57

@Melange99 Boots Sleek Corrector in pale pink is very good and it’s only £6.99, but the best I’ve tried so far is Chanel Correcteur in Rose (this has more staying power). I’ve also had another go with YSL Touché Eclat, using it to brighten the whole under eye area, and that’s quite good too.

Once you brighten your entire under eye area, your whole face looks better, I wish I’d realised this before!

Coffeepot72 · 13/02/2021 18:03

@Moomoolandmoomooland could you post a link to the Revlon product you recommended?

Whatnamesareleft · 13/02/2021 18:19

Yeah I do use eye cream twice a day. Doesn’t matter what I use. I now use I think one of the la Roche ones as it doesn’t aggravate my eczema?

I've also got very dark circles.
I've just bought the Revolution
Corrector in peach. I use it over moisturiser and then apply my foundation.
It works quite well.
Don't think I'll ever be able to completely disguise my dark circles,

Gwenhwyfar · 13/02/2021 19:49

I've heard this many times, but never see it in the shops. I could look online, but then how would I find my shade? (shops are open where I am)

I have permanent dark circles and NOTHING works. I'm ready to try tear trough fillers, just need to take the plunge. I'm living abroad and don't know how to check out the practician.

AfterSchoolWorry · 13/02/2021 19:50

Get tear trough fillers. The only thing that worked for mine.

Whatnamesareleft · 13/02/2021 20:12

The fillers won’t stop the concealer going on patchy though?

OP posts:
Faith50 · 13/02/2021 20:18

I have dark circles and recommend MAC concealer and foundation powder. It completely disguises them.

Whatnamesareleft · 13/02/2021 21:10

@Faith50 that’s exactly what I already use. Yes so much better than without but it dries patchy

@Bananaman123 any chance you could show me a picture/link to the one you use? Maybe I need something oilier?? Will also have a look at a couple of these others.

My most natural looking concealer is Glossier's Stretch Concealer but it's not full coverage so may not be any good for very dark circles.

Melange99 · 14/02/2021 08:53

I can confirm that the Glossier concealer is indeed too sheer for dark circles. I have both. 🐼

Gwenhwyfar · 14/02/2021 13:06

I'm presuming you'd have less need for concealer once you have filler.
Whatnamesareleft · 14/02/2021 13:10

Ok.

I have even tried using vitamin e skin oil. I am currently covered in it round my eyeshadow doesn’t make my eyes sting and is good on my hair as well as dry hands but even that doesn’t change my under eyes?

Has anyone tried the new ysl touch eclait? Says it’s more of a concealer with benefits of the original lightening? I loved it in the old days when I was young but crap for my bags as I got older so haven’t used it for years...

OP posts:
Coffeepot72 · 14/02/2021 13:28

The original touché eclat is actually rather good (I thought I’d give this a try before I tried the concealer version) it brightens my under eye area to the point that concealer isn’t required. And there’s no caking.

It's of no use for anyone with proper dark circles though.
Gwenhwyfar · 14/02/2021 13:34

Facial fake tan drops is the only thing I've ever found that helps. Makes the contrast between dark circles and a pale face less obvious. Then makeup, whether foundation or concealer helps only a tiny bit.
