If you have mid to long hair how do you dry it quickly?

Drying hair is soooooo boring. I want my hair dried really quickly.

Is there a product that does it well?

Try rubbing Elvive Extraordinary oil into damp hair before drying. The oil forces water out quicker when blow drying and it gives a nice shine.

Don't blow dry from wet. Towel on head while getting dressed or having coffee then pat dry, squeeze in towel as much as possible and blow dry from semi wet.

To be fair, if it takes you ten minutes that's no time at all!

It takes me nearly an hour every morning to blow dry and style mine Grin I get up early and listen to the news while I do it.

On disaster mornings when I've overslept I comb into a pony tail and drive to work with the car heaters on full blast directed at my head, arriving at work red faced and sweating but at least my hairs dry.

chasingmytail4 · 06/02/2021 22:29

Another vote for dyson. It’s fast and my hair is in better condition than ever.

AnnaSW1 · 06/02/2021 22:32

Dyson hairdryer and sectioning off my hair. It dries with less frizz too.

If you get the hairdryer don't buy the holder!! Waste of money

SmileyClare · 06/02/2021 22:33

The Dyson hairdryer sounds good until you look at the price. £300! Shock

Another good tip which I do as well as making sections. I towel dry with a regular towel, and then I use a micro fibre towel to get out as much water as possible. Makes blow drying much faster.

FredaFox · 06/02/2021 22:42

I’ve got the dyson airwrap, definitely drys hair quicker
I don’t think it dries it out at all, much better than previous hairdryers

sherrystrull · 06/02/2021 22:44

Squeeze tightly with a fowl from the shower, comb out and squeeze again.

Dry for five minutes, comb and leave while I eat and get dressed then a final blast from the dryer.

Works for me!

sherrystrull · 06/02/2021 22:48

Towel!!!

Bumblebee1980a · 06/02/2021 22:50

I have long thick hair and I dry it upside down using a dyson hairdryer, it takes about 5 minutes.

SmileyClare · 06/02/2021 22:50

Squeeze tightly with a fowl

Which fowl would you recommend? I'm thinking a small chicken or grouse. A fully feathered turkey would be quite cumbersome.

Waterdropsdown · 06/02/2021 22:59

I hate drying my hair, one of life’s most boring chores. I have 3 set hair washing slots a week. I blow dry it for 10 minutes and then leave it still half wet. Usually I come back a few hours later and blow dry the rest (a positive to come out of lockdown as I would never previously have washed my hair in the morning of a work day!)

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 06/02/2021 23:03

I don't. I brush it and leave it to it then straighten it the next morning. Takes forever to dry it and goes bushy anyway so I just do it when I get in from work and its dry by the time I go to bed.

CocoPark · 06/02/2021 23:03

This thread is timely!!! I have a lot of fine hair which takes ages to dry and in this weather (and overdue a cut!) it knots easily. I'm sooo fed up of it.

Can anyone tell me if the Dyson would be suitable? I'd love to cut down on the drying time and improve the condition, but don't want to make it flatter/heavier!

PatsyJStone · 06/02/2021 23:03

Have long thick wavy hair, got a very similar revlon one step, to that mentioned on page 1,almost the same but not quite, from Amazon and they are in Tesco around £38. I really like it as you don’t have hairbrush in one hand and dryer in another. Gives you the hand you need free to select section of hair to dry. It does a good job of straightening it, I need to use straighteners a bit on mine as it’s wavy almost curly. That’s if it want it dead straight but not essential. Check out the videos on YouTube there are loads.

imadeitnice · 06/02/2021 23:12

I have a Dyson hairdryer, a dyson airwrap and the revlon brush you posted. I use the revlon more than the others, I love it. My hair is past my shoulders

jackstini · 06/02/2021 23:16

Wash at night, put in towel for 10 mins, wrap in bathrobe belt for curls in the morning

Cavagirl · 06/02/2021 23:21

Watts!!!
My hair is down to my bra strap on my back.
Recently got a new hairdryer GAMMA+ 3500 TORMALIONIC
Hairdrying time reduced from 10+mins to about 5-6.
Power is what you need OP.

Bagelsandbrie · 06/02/2021 23:21

I have long hair and just towel dry it as much as I can then blast it with a Boots hairdryer on the hottest setting. Think it was about £20. Takes me about 3-5 mins. We’re all different but I can’t imagine spending £££ on a hairdryer that to me would do the same thing.

ruthieness · 06/02/2021 23:39

I use two hairdryers - one in each hand to get my hair to damp - then I style it!

LudoTrouble · 06/02/2021 23:40

I'm quite shocked that anyone spends an hour each day drying and styling their hair.

Not judging, just genuinely shocked. It's like a glimpse into what life might involve if I were to take care of myself.

Tambourinetunes · 06/02/2021 23:43

I use a GHD hairdryer because it saves so much time

RiverSkater · 06/02/2021 23:48

Towel dry with microfibres towel
Dry upside down with a normal bristle straightening brush.

Sorry not very good at links!

PersonaNonGarter · 06/02/2021 23:51

Do a keratin blow dry. You can do one at home or have them done in a salon.

Honestly, they are game changing. Drying my medium/long hair goes from a 40min task to a 15min task.

GHD hairdryer - costs about £100 so cheaper than dyson.

I have medium length very thick frizzy hair. My hairdryer reduced my drying time from 20 mins to 7ish. It's also not frizzy & don't bother sectioning it either. If I wanted to take a little more time I could dry it completely straight.

100% worth the money!
