Hi i have wavy stubborn hair and im useless @ blowdrying it straight i just havent got enough hands! I use remington wet to straight wide straighteners which can get it pretty straight but wondered if ghds would get it straighter? With the w2s it takes nearly an hour and with 3 small kids i just dont get the time & im fed up wearing my hair up!

The best £85 I've ever spent.

Less than five mins on my thick shoulder length hair.

RustyBear · 25/10/2007 22:28

I thought not until DD got some for Christmas. Now i know there is straight and then there's GHD straight...

oliviaelanasmum · 25/10/2007 22:30

Is there anywhere to get them cheaper i was a bit wary of ebay.

Yep!!!

chocolatespiders · 25/10/2007 22:34

i use the paul mitchell heat seal spary to protect hair and it also wards off the damp so stays straight longer,
i do wash my hair everyday though,

do you know anyone with them that you could try

CrookshanksinJimmyChoos · 25/10/2007 22:35

The straightness does last longer as well

oliviaelanasmum · 25/10/2007 22:39

No my friends would have a fit if they knew how much they cost although they will spend £100 on a pair of wellies

the fhi ones are much better

Cosmo74 · 25/10/2007 22:45

My hair is very wiry and naturally curly, DH bought me the thick ones last Christmas - best Xmas present ever ever ever - I have going from taking 2 hours to get my hair straightened to 20 mins - and that includes blow drying - they are well worth the money - think of the money you would spend a year just going for a blowdry when you are going out and they pay for themselves twice over - I actually only go to hairdresser now for colour and cut cause my GHD's do my hair better than the hairdresser - treat yourself or start dropping hints for Xmas pressie - cheapest ones I got where off hairHQ - remember to google evoucher to get more money off though

Buy them I love mine

I may have to start being nice to dp then! Unfortunatly we are not having a christmas this year but if im now going to ebay all my maternity clothes that my do it! My poor dd2 has all this to come she has a wonderfull head of curls but will no doubt straighten it within an inch of its life!

nappyaddict · 25/10/2007 22:51

why no christmas

southeastastra · 25/10/2007 22:51

let your hair dry naturally be different, it'll all break off eventually otherwise

oliviaelanasmum · 25/10/2007 22:55

We are taking the kids to Spain for christmas as we havent had a foreign holiday for years, so we will take a small gift for them each with us. The girls are only 5,2 and 5 weeks so they are not fussed.

oliviaelanasmum · 25/10/2007 22:57

I dried my hair upside down a few weeks ago and ended up looking like michael bolton even the kids laughed at me

nappyaddict, why are they better? Can you do wavy/curly with them too? I need some to make my straight hair wavy, but am baulking at the ghd price tag too...

chipkid · 25/10/2007 23:06

yes

nappyaddict · 25/10/2007 23:09

i have had 3 pairs of ghds. they have all broken just over a year after i have gotten them. i gave up in the end. i asked my hairdresser which ones they use cos i always get just as good if not better results when i get my hair done using those and she said they were the FHI ones.

nappyaddict · 25/10/2007 23:11

got them from here

MeMySonAndI · 25/10/2007 23:13

I have used mine for 3 years now, mostly every day, sometimes twice a day. I have fine hair and surprise surprise... it doesn't get dammaged. However... I borrowed my sister's straightemers (as expensive as GHD and aparently the same spec)but japanese) and within 3 days I had split ends.

MeMySonAndI · 25/10/2007 23:14

i really need to do something about this keyboard
