Just based on your own height/weight/dress size. Sorry is this is a strange question but just wondering following a conversation with MIL what weight she thinks I am. Thanks

12/13 stone?

pucca · 25/10/2007 20:55

I would guess at (thinking about my height and weight) about 13 - 14 stone?

CarGirl · 25/10/2007 20:56

10-11 stone

onescarymummy · 25/10/2007 20:56

11 stone I think

RustyBear · 25/10/2007 20:56

I am 5'2.5 & just under 11st. I am size 16.

ScaryMonsterStories · 25/10/2007 20:57

I am 5'2
I am size 16-18
I weigh 13stone exactly

CarGirl · 25/10/2007 20:57

But I am a shorty so I think that it makes it easier to guess beause I know half a stone makes a big difference when vertically challenged

SenoraPostrophe · 25/10/2007 20:59

depends on your fat-muscle ratio!

PelvicfloorLotsofGore · 25/10/2007 21:00

10-11 stone?

See who knows cause rustybear I am same size and weight as you and wear a size 12.

I would have guessed at 13 to 14 stone TBH.

RosaTransylvania · 25/10/2007 21:03

About 12 stone. Based on the fact that I am 5'6" and when I was a size 16-18 I weighed just over 13 stone.

inamuckingfuddle · 25/10/2007 21:04

As gomez says, who knows - I am 5'7, size 14, 13 stone, so there really is no way of guessing!

suiledonn · 25/10/2007 21:05

Thanks for all the quick replies. So it varies from 10-14 stone in peoples opinions here. Just wondering cos was talking to MIL who is a couple of inches taller than me today and she was talking about how she found it hard to lose weight after her last child was born and at one stage she was nearly 12 stone and she went on an on about how massive it was. I was standing there wondering - she's looking at me, she knows what size clothes I wear so wtf does she think I weigh and is she not worried about hurting my feelings. She didn't though - I have been this size for years and know how to get rid of the weight I'm just not that bothered at the moment.
I am exactly 13 stone at the moment by the way.

well i'm 524 and weigh 12st2 and am 16/18 atm

HTH

Eddas · 25/10/2007 21:07

ok that should say 5'4

at some of the guesses, it really does vary doesn't it. How strange that a few inches and bodyshape makes such a difference

CarGirl · 25/10/2007 21:11

It's odd to me that people go on abut how much they weigh, we never had scales until recently - it was all about how I felt. When I was 9 stone I was boderline overweight and the practice nurse seemed to delight in telling me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eddas · 25/10/2007 21:12

I've had that and when i say how much i weigh. According to the charts, very recently i wa 12st 10 and obese but now i've lost 8lbs am only overweight. Still wear the same clothes. Stupid charts.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 25/10/2007 21:18

If I guess the weight correctly do I get a prize

I have no clue to be honest as people can weigh more or less than they look depending on muscle/ fat etc. ratios - I imagine somewhere between 11-14 stone... ?

Carbonel · 25/10/2007 21:32

Weel that sounds like me and I reckon I am 11 stone

hoarsewhisperer · 26/10/2007 08:51

i'm 5 foot 4 and a size 12. I weight 12 stone.

Post ds 1 when i crept up to a borderling size 16, i weighed 13.5 stone.

it varies so much

ProfYaffle · 26/10/2007 09:04

Dress sizes vary hugely too. I'm about 5' 4" (I think, not sure) when I weighed 11st 12lbs I was a size 18, now I'm 10st 2lbs and my M&S size 14 jeans are getting too big but I'm still a 16 in other shops.

I can sympathise re your mil, my Mum is very slim and goes on and on about how fat she is and how disgusting it is and she's not even a size 10.

My Nan was also very slim and used to think that 10stone was about as big as human being could be. If she saw a hugely obese person she'd say "she must have weighed ... oooh .... 10 stone at least"

I don't know what goes through their heads tbh.

gladbag · 26/10/2007 09:06

I am 5ft 3". At present I'm a size 12 at just under 10 stone. I was a size 16 after having ds, and was about 13 stone. But this must vary hugely, depending on your body shape.

Eddas · 26/10/2007 09:17

I really am at the variation, hoarsewhisperer how can we be the amse height and weight but you are a 12 and i'm a 16/18, makes no sense to me Madness.

I am pearshaped and def need an 18 to fit my wide bottom and I guess I carry my weight on my bottom half. My top half probably isn't a 16 more 14 but I feel more comfortable in 16. And I suppose also my 18's are too big but 16 is too small atm so what'd ya do?!

suedonim · 26/10/2007 10:00

This is all so weird - eg, Hoarsewhisperer is 5ft4, 12st and a size 12 while I am 5ft6, 10st and size 14!!

My dc do say my clothes are too baggy but tbh, after four pg's, my body is pretty baggy as well.
