What brands do posh people wear in London

I am northern, and not posh. However I do have a fancy job that usually requires a level of travel.

There is a dress code that I'm not very good at reading for my London based contemporaries. Think Meg and Julia in Motherland types.

What brands do these types wear? I can spot a Mulberry handbag at ten paces usually but the rest is baffling and I'm genuinely intrigued. They always look so well dressed!

Please help me, I can't ask in real life!

I, too, took it that the OP wanted to look well put together, in a professional manner, not that she wanted to pretend that she was a member of the royal family

Very much this Grin

My Ally Capellino arrived this morning and I LOVE it! It is so well made, and massive!

I have adored this thread and have a fabulous new bag to show for it.

My blue leather Ally Capellino bag arrived last week & I adore it- thanks to you starting this thread @MrsDeadlock! I didn't know this brand before but absolutely love it.

I have been reading this thread over several days now and I enjoyed it so much!!!
I don’t have any kids and don’t even live in UK, but just wanted to say thanks so now I have an account in Mumsnet 😅
Lots of love from Finland!

Glad you enjoyed it! Grin

You need to work out who works with your body shape or size
For example much as I like Ted Baker they are always too long - waist in wrong place for me

Remember this thread, it was a good one. Still love my Ally bag!

I always blame this thread for getting me into some serious shopping for the first time in years.

@jillypill

I'm a very pale celt. Neutral colours can look horrific on me.

Oh yes, those sandy colours just don't work on me either, same for pastels.
