SUCH • DRY • SKIN 🥺😢

Hi all,

So I've been noticing recently that my skin is SUPER dry... to the point that when I put my foundation on (using a moisturiser and a primer first) you can clearly see the areas of dry skin and my makeup looks patchy 😢☹️

Does anybody recommend anything I can do? Any particular products?

Codliver oil tablets and Omega 3 tablets made no difference to me.

Vaseline overnight - over your usual moisturizer ! Recommended by my derm

Do you look after your skin? I used to suffer with patches of dry skin, can't afford the expensive products so looked into smaller brands and started using face theory stuff about a year ago. It's really made a big difference. I use a cleanser and a serum daily and also have an exfoliator which I use once every 10 days or so. I no longer have dry skin and I feel confident enough to go out with a bare face.
They have lots of peoducts suited to all different problems/ skin types so it's worth a look. Really reasonably priced too!

Mega dry here too, terrible this year. Round my eyes was so red and sore it was cracking. I ended up using sudocrem nappy cream to heal the skin as it was the only thing that was gentle enough to put on and it did the job - has taken ages and ages to properly recover though. Am now using child’s farm a LOT, it absorbs really easily so I pile it on through the day. Also second the use of Vaseline over moisturiser at night (I’ve been doing it round my eyes (not on actual eyelids!) during the day as well to stop them getting as bad as they did before) - it really helps. It’s horrible OP, hope you find something that works for you.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but my holy grail for dry skin is the Ultra Repair Cream by First Aid Beauty. It's got colloidal oatmeal in it and it is the only thing that helps my eczema flare ups and dry skin in general.

I am out hiking every day with my dogs and in the winter don’t want chapped skin so I use aloe Vera products as they moisturise, soothe and don’t clog pores.

The body shop aloe Vera range is good and this year I bought one by Eclat and it’s very good. I bought mine from Amazon but it won’t let me link to it.

It’s this one

this was me a few months ago. this is what helped me -
using a cleanser that doesn't dry me out. Like clinique take off the day balm, or estee lauder balm, pure balm from m and s
oskia liquid mask twice a week
ANR serum day and night
a rich moisturiser on day and night (I have a few)
few times a week I treat my skin to weleda skin food as well, or the blue orchid face oil from clarins, squalene (sp?) is also supposed to be good
and using a moisturising primer before make up (I use estee lauder skin perfecting, but clarins instant smooth was great when I was very dry)

good luck op
