Plantar Fasciitis and slippers anyone?

I have PF and it’s been going on a while. Podiatrist has given me some insoles which do seem to have helped a bit. However when I’m at home, which I am all the time and have been since March , I’m wearing slippers which my insoles don’t go into. Any recommendations for Cosy slippers (but not too old lady-ish Smile) with enough shape to fit an insole in, and maybe a tiny little bit of heel because completely flat shoes are a no/no.
Thank you in advance.

I like Totes Isotoners. Once your PF has subsided they should be good enough to keep wearing without the insoles to prevent another flare up.

I have Birkenstock slippers for this reason, they do help.

linerforlife · 30/11/2020 12:25

Birkinstock slippers are good but very solid, fit flop ones are a bit more springy but the arch support is a little less robust. Neither you need insoles for.

I have Moshulu bootees with a pair of orthotics inside them.

Scarby9 · 30/11/2020 12:41

My mum's podiatrist told her not to wear slippers at all, but to wear supportive shoes all the time in the house.

ScrapThatThen · 30/11/2020 12:42

I definitely found slippers seemed to cause a recurrence of PF every time I tried them. I wear two pairs of socks.

GiraffeNecked · 30/11/2020 12:43

While it’s bad...wear shoes all the time. Just sheepskin mules slippers have support.

CoronaCurls · 30/11/2020 12:53

Fitflop slippers totally keep my PF under control without the need for orthotics.

Thanks for all these... off to Google...

@ExpensivelyDecorated

Me too, works brilliantly!
TheGonnagle · 30/11/2020 13:09

Birkenstock slippers are the best!

PawsAndPhytoncides · 30/11/2020 13:10

My mum had this and swore by sketchers slip ons for inside the house.

SageRosemary · 30/11/2020 13:16

Might be worth having a look at Nordika slippers too

NotMeekNotObedient · 30/11/2020 14:58

Not tried but Vionics do slippers www.vionicshoes.co.uk/women/slippers.html

Birkenstock slippers cured it for my husband and me. In my husband’s case it was a cheaper and more effective option than several sessions of physio that went before!

Lamentations · 30/11/2020 17:22

Birkenstock Amsterdams. Actually very stylish IMO.

Petrarkanian · 30/11/2020 17:23

Pavers mule slippers.

whysorude · 30/11/2020 17:26

Lidle knock-off crocs. Works a treat.

Sometimesonly · 30/11/2020 17:30

Mine are similar to Birkenstock Amsterdams and really help with PF.

Ace1185 · 30/11/2020 17:33

Can't recommend Sketchers enough they have been amazing for my plantar fasciitis. I have slippers, winter boots, slip ons, trainers, work shoes and flip flops that are all Sketchers. They can be expensive but finding them worth the money. Don't know why I insisted on cheap shoes for so many years

Deadringer · 30/11/2020 17:36

Not very cosy but i wear crocs as slippers. I wear my shoes almost all the time tho, my feet need the support.

Deadringer · 30/11/2020 17:39

Meant to say, the podiatrist told me to avoid sketchers, they are comfy but have no real support. I have fallen arches too though, so perhaps that's why.

MrsMoastyToasty · 30/11/2020 17:41

Crocs work for me and they're roomy enough for a pair of thick socks.

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/11/2020 17:43

I wear birkenstocks in summer and Mahabi slippers in winter. Sketchers made my pf worse. I don't have it any more but still wear them and put Boots orthotics in my shoes to keep it away.
