Anyone here use the Pitrok crystal/salt deodorant?

I have come across this deodorant that's supposed to contain no bad ingredients for your skin. I like the fact that it's dry as I've never liked roll-on deodorants and would rather not use a spray one. Does anyone here use the Pitrok crystal one? Here it is www.amazon.co.uk/PitRok-W1060-Push-Up-Crystal-Deodorant/dp/B000S858L0/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-nc-drs1_0?psc=1&keywords=PitRok+W1060+Push-Up+Crystal+Deodorant+100g&pd_rd_i=B000S858L0&qid=1605279546&cv_ct_cx=PitRok+W1060+Push-Up+Crystal+Deodorant+100g&dchild=1&s=drugstore&pf_rd_p=344521d5-1bc6-4c7a-9776-9c81f49df30a&pd_rd_wg=lvbHc&pf_rd_r=DQBQ34ANSAVQDW1DY492&pd_rd_w=TywX9&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&pd_rd_r=32dc4bd1-00d5-4fb6-b180-5fdb4c0b1e29&sr=1-1-0f636240-5ebc-47e0-a5f7-bb2a7fa20976

@Joeyandpacey

It has aluminium in so I wouldn’t touch it
I just found this on the Pitrok website:

Free from Parabens, SLS/SLES, Propylene Glycol, Silicone, Aluminium Chlorohydrate and Aluminium Zirconium

Does that mean it has a different type of aluminium among the ingredients from the two types above?

I think the aluminium is most dangerous if you cut your arm. Otherwise the amount your skin can let in is tiny

Duckwit · 15/11/2020 15:39

Yes, I think part of the problem is that shaving can leave little cuts where aluminium can get in.

I switched to non-aluminium after having breast cancer myself, even though there is very little evidence to suggest it causes breast cancer, and no evidence to suggest it causes the type I had. But I figured that non-aluminium is provably better generally anyway, and it's fine, as I said I occasionally still use anti-perspirant when I really need it!

Can I ask what you switched to please, @Duckwit ?

Yes, I switched to Bionsen, the stick one - I get it from Boots Smile

The crystal stone deodorants contain potassium alum, which is an aluminium salt. Some research I've read says that the potassium alum molecule is much larger than aluminium and therefore not absorbed in the same way. Some people believe that it can be absorbed in the same way as the aluminium in normal deodorants and avoid using them.

Separatedandabitsad · 15/11/2020 16:59

Bionsen doesn’t cut it for me unfortunately but for those it works for that’s great as it’s a good price and easier to use than other ones.

Duckwit · 15/11/2020 17:50
Yes, that's the one 👍
