Oh, no idea but Cult Beauty are charging £139. Sounds like you've found a bargain.

SheilaTheThief · 13/11/2020 10:53

Offer has ended 😭
But still wonder if any good? Will keep eye out if any more offers

I have one and love it. I have long straight hair which is prone to frizz. It smooths my hair out without the poker straight look you get from straighteners. I don't use it every day but good to have on hand when I need to tame the frizz!

iwanttolookbetter · 13/11/2020 15:02

I'm curious about this too - can anyone tell me if it's more or less the same thing as the Revlon one step in terms of result and effort?

severusfox · 13/11/2020 15:06

I hated it and gave it to my step-daughter

Worst thing I've ever bought

Oh..and I'm a trained hairdresser so I know what I'm doing 🤨

Joeyandpacey · 13/11/2020 15:20

It’s amaze! I have curly hair and I can style it in about 5 mins.

BammBamm · 13/11/2020 15:25

I love it. I have thick but fine curly hair. It makes mine look like a blow dry in 5 minutes. I thought it would be great for my sister who has thick, thick wavy hair and it was rubbish. I think it really depends on hair type.
FWIW I bought mine on eBay for £55. Advert said used once. Don't know whether that's true but it certainly hadn't had much use!

Redglitter · 13/11/2020 15:27

I've got one and I love it. Ive got thick hair and it really makes a difference. Worth every penny.

Thimbleberries · 13/11/2020 15:30

Is this the new one, the rise?

Or the glide? I have the glide, and I like it - but it leaves the ends of my hair looking a bit odd, straight and with a kind of edge (I've very thick hair). So I'm hoping for good things with the rise, which I've asked for for Christmas!

iwanttolookbetter · 13/11/2020 15:47

JoeyandPacey - how do you style your hair? Is it still curly once you've brushed it?

iwanttolookbetter · 13/11/2020 15:58

And how curly is your hair? I just got mine permed and styling it is a steep learning curve...

HappyGirlNow · 13/11/2020 18:41

I love the Glide, so easy and quick and less bother than straighteners with a slightly more natural result.

Coffeepot72 · 13/11/2020 23:20

If you mean the GHD glide, I bought the Babyliss version, for £30. I like it. You need to practice but it gives a smooth, sleek finish.

LadyFelsham · 14/11/2020 12:20

Can you use it on damp hair and can you do more with it than straighten hair?

I've looked at the video on their website but I couldn't work it out!

Dawnlassie · 14/11/2020 12:30

A food and their money. Put a regular hair brush in the microwave for a little while. Take out wearing oven mits and use as normal.

I should clarify this is not serious advice.

ForeverRedSkinhead · 14/11/2020 12:36

I have a dafni heated brush. I really like it as it gives you a bouncy , but neat blow dried look , rather than the poker straight look of a straightener.

I believe the dafni one is similar to the glide , reviews are very alike.

Thimbleberries · 14/11/2020 13:03

I don't think either the Glide or the Rise can be used on damp hair. It needs to be dried first - I've occasionally gone to bed with wet hair and then used the Glide in the morning, when my hair is a little damp in place, and it steams, but doesn't really dry it, and I don't think it would be a good idea to use it with hair that was damp all over.

Sasuma · 14/11/2020 14:17

I have the ghd one. I use it occasionally as I mostly air dry and leave my hair. But it does give a nice shine and smoothness without the poker straight look of straighteners.

LadyFelsham · 14/11/2020 14:19

Thanks @Thimbleberries.

I think I'll stick then to my bright pink L'oreal ones, as they really do steam the hair into submission for two or three days.

I'll probably go bald eventually!

Joeyandpacey · 15/11/2020 08:29

I’ve figured out how to do it with a twist so it comes out wavy. I can’t stand poker straight hair. Sometimes I spritz it after, put it in a bun while I’m getting ready then it comes out wavy but sleek if you know what I mean. Tbh I’m done with curly curly hair, I did CGM for 5 years and I missed styling it.

Sorry above reply was in answer to you!
iwanttolookbetter · 15/11/2020 14:48

I'd love to figure out how to do quick wavy hair - the holy grail of the hairstyle world in my opinion! I might try the bun thing but I'm worried that will kill the volume near the roots. Do you get volume at the roots?

Joeyandpacey · 15/11/2020 20:41

I have a lot of hair so I’m not prone to flat head!! Fingers crossed it will work for you.

ProudAuntie76 · 16/11/2020 11:53

Bought the glide and it’s pointless IMO. Hair has to be dry to use it, it’s a bit like the straighteners except it goes frizzy quicker and worst of all my hair got tangled in it and it was getting scorched as I was trying to get the knot out (even though I immediately unplugged). Don’t recommend at all.

shuttheblinds · 17/11/2020 01:27

Its rubbish. I bought one then sold it within a few weeks, didnt work for me at all. Not even comparable with straighterns.
