Is Seasalt worth the price?

AcornAutumn · 07/11/2020 17:06

I’m mostly at the price range of Asda.

I’ve been looking at some seasalt sale stuff, even at the sale price, it’s more than I’d normally spend. Just eyeing up a couple of tops.

What do people think? Do they wash and wear well?

Thanks.

Decent quality in my experience.

Mycircusmymonkey · 07/11/2020 17:08

The only thing I have from seasalt is a winter coat and it is brilliant. Paid full price and worth every penny.

sittingonacornflake · 07/11/2020 17:10

1 of my sea salt coats I've had 10 years!

tilder · 07/11/2020 17:11

Good quality but size down. I'm an 8, possibly 6 in Sea salt. 12 elsewhere.

theotherfossilsister · 07/11/2020 17:11

Yes, I love their clothes.

InFlagranteDerelicto · 07/11/2020 17:13

I've not bought anything from their normal clothes range, however if it's on a par with their raincoats, it will be worth it. My Seasalt raincoat is about to do its 7th winter, still in great condition & no leaks even in pouring rain. And it's machine washable.

Wow, speedy replies! Thanks.

I’m about to do a workout and was going to check for replies after but interesting to hear the yes so quickly!

Only bought a coat and it’s great quality

Chottie · 07/11/2020 17:14

Yes, excellent quality, washes well. I've had some of my Seasalt coats for over 10 years too. If a coat says waterproof on the label, it is waterproof.

I bought the Seasalt Jinelle coat on a MN recommendation. And I have not been disappointed. I wore it in a hail storm last week and I was completely dry.

peekiboo · 07/11/2020 17:15

Yes definitely. I love their tops so comfy. I usually buy from ebay. Always great quality.

N0tfinished · 07/11/2020 17:17

I think so, especially if natural fabric is important to you. I hate synthetic fabrics. By the way, they sell sale items via eBay if you want to try at a lower price point first : here-

Comefromaway · 07/11/2020 17:19

I’m normally an Asda George/Sainsbury’s Tu person but I have a Seasalt dress and 2 tops bought in the sale and I’ve worn them constantly over the past year. Great quality and so flattering.

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 07/11/2020 17:21

I have a Seasalt winter coat and my only compliant is that it's faded and has suffered a bit from the dogs. I'm not sure how long I've had it- 5years+ I think.

You've reminded me to send DH a link asking for a new one for Christmas...

Yes, I like everything to be natural fabrics.

I’ll try eBay as well, thank you.

I bought a Protected Species coat with the MN half price thing and I was impressed with how waterproof it was, without suffocating me like a lot of cheap waterproofs. I’ve also been interested in how many people have commented on it looking good - including the guy in the chip shop. He’s known me forever X- yes I like chips 😂 - and has never once commented on anything like that but the coat, he really noticed!

Yes, they are my first choice for clothes; work & home alike.

Their sales always have good discounts.

Their bamboo fabric is wonderfully soft

movingonup20 · 07/11/2020 17:28

I like their dresses, not cheap but are decent quality so I don't mind. Would rather have 3 or 4 decent pieces than 15 cheap primark ones

gavisconismyfriend · 07/11/2020 17:33

Yes, great quality. Wash extremely well. Will last for years. Buy nearly all my clothes from there for work and play!

JaJaDingDong · 07/11/2020 17:39

Love Seasalt. And Joules.
I agree with the size down advice though.

LilacPebbles · 07/11/2020 17:42

Some of the tops come up very short and boxy but the quality is ok.

Craftycorvid · 07/11/2020 17:43

Yes, very good quality in my experience. I’m still wearing a cable knit cardi’ from about ten years ago - no shrinkage or bobbling. I did have a denim skirt but traded it on eBay when it got too big for me.

TooManyDogsandChildren · 07/11/2020 17:44

Yes I also buy nearly all my clothes there. Very few places have a decent selection of natural fabrics and I can't bear synthetics.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/11/2020 17:47

Really good

Can I just prompt you to thought clothing as well - wearethought.com - they have some great tops in the sale

They're my first place to turn to as they're all ethical fabrics and processes

AmeliaFolch · 07/11/2020 17:59

They’re great. I’ve a couple of tunics for 4/5 years now and they still look like new. I also have a couple of dresses that aren’t quite that old but have washed well too. Eyeing up a coat for Christmas at the moment. It’s pricey but worth it if you want things that will last.

Londonmummy66 · 07/11/2020 18:06

Nice fabrics and well made and wash well. However if you are well endowed in the chest area they are not a great cut - I find that most of their tops and dresses hang straight down off my boobs.....

DramaAlpaca · 07/11/2020 18:09

I love Seasalt, especially their shirts.
