Tummy Tuck

So I have an opportunity to have a tummy tuck

I'm 45, had 3 children, and a very traumatic 3rd delivery requiring 2 surgeries and left me with severe PTSD

I had a consultation with a surgeon I had another procedure with about the tummy tuck, but he was concerned I wouldn't cope with it mentally

But even though I'm a size10-12 and slim, I always have a belly and an overhang and it really bothers me. I train, fast, diet etc and although I have good boobs, legs & bum this is one area that doesn't change.
I think I'd have to starve myself forever for a slightly less baggy belly

So I'm just asking for opinions, would you? Have you? What are others experiences of tummy tuck?

Wow @Diadora30 8 stone is a phenomenal amount of weight to lose.
Keep us updated when you decide to take the plunge

Why did you decide on your surgeon. My choice in south west would be Nigel mercer at Bristol plastic surgery

I have messaged Iain Whittaker today to see what he has to offer.

@FelicityFlamingo what are you basing those recommendations on? (Just wondering not being difficult)

I totally agree re recovery. Unfortunately my last surgery was emergency and I was terrified which affected my recovery physically and mentally

Luckily have fab DP who says he will look after me post surgery as long as it takes

Glad you're feeling ok, you know your body just take it easy and no bed changing Grin

All have excellent reviews. They're all highly skilled. Their work is readily available online to see. They all post regularly and all practice up to date techniques. I follow a group and see all their work.

I was impressed by your surgeons information online
I wonder if it's better to stay closer to home though for major surgery

When do you plan on going back to work?
I'm a community nurse but mostly office based so nothing particularly physical

I'm lucky in that I don't need to go back to work as such so that's something. I have my own business and it's quite niche I suppose - I can do everything I need to online as that's where my business is.

I think being a community nurse you'd have to allow 4 weeks perhaps

MozzchopsThirty · 04/11/2020 17:33

Oh that's lucky Smile

It took me 3 months to physically recover last time, I don't want to feel like that again

I has one and am so pleased I did it. I hated my apron tummy, it didn’t feel like it belonged to me. I had many negative thoughts about it everyday. Now I never think about my tummy, I’m definitely happier.

I simply could not risk a GA for elective surgery.

@LilyTheMink

I simply could not risk a GA for elective surgery.
Do you ever drive a car, or cross the road, or walk down stairs? Because your chances of dying from doing those things are much higher than having a GA.
LilyTheMink · 26/04/2021 20:13

Sorry should have made it clear- not for me. There would be far greater risks for me.

Twinkie01 · 26/04/2021 20:24

I've had one. Totally flat tummy, wasn't too bad on the pain front. Was up and taking myself to the loo a couple of hours later, (I am v fit though) scar was pretty shocking but 2 years on it's hardly noticeable.

My surgeon does a Brazilian one where you don't have drains which was what I wanted.

PM me if you'd like any info x

Thanks for this thread - I do hate my tummy with a passion! The chances of me ever having 8K to spend on myself is completely non existent though 😂

I'm dying for a tummy tuck and breast lift. I've lost about 80lbs and had two kids - one of which was a c-section that left me with the most disgusting flappy apron. I hate my body with a passion and I'm just squishy all over from the loose skin. I had a consultation for a tummy tuck and breast lift 2 years ago. The surgeon who came highly recommended from friends recommended a 360 body lift for the best results plus the breast lift and implants. The total for both came to just under £18k. I'm currently trying to figure out how the hell I can afford that. 😭😭😭
