Has anyone had a skin tag removed privately?

It's at the very top of my leg. I've had it years and it's been slow growing however it's now starting catching on clothes and is getting sore (and ugly).

The doctor will put me on the waiting list however it's months long. She said that an option would be private.

Does anyone have any experience or idea of costs?

Thanks all. I've booked a consultation with a clinic for epilation.

I had a huge one done on my bum a couple of months ago. Tried DIY on it first but couldn't get rid of it. Two weeks later and it fell off...somewhere Grin

Wow that looks good and very reasonably priced. I have a growing number of tags I need rid off.

Honestly it’s saved me and DP hundreds if not thousands of pounds. All the cherry angiomas are gone. The raised brown warts you get as you age -gone. Skin tags -gone. It’s even meant to work on verrucas though I’ve not tried that!

Ooh I have a cherry angioma (sort of a blood spot type of thing?) on Outer part of my eye near my temple I would really like rid of that!

Yep! You may have to zap. Leave the scab to fall off. Zap again and maybe even a third time till it’s gone completely. I’ve found the angiomas take a bit longer to disappear but they bugger off in the end. The skin tags just shrivel and fall off immediately.

Thanks for the tip that sounds amazing GrinI just assumed I would have to pay privately and I live in a very rural area so I was just leaving it - very exciting to think I could do something about it!

I've got an ugly wart (benign) on my nose, would the zapper work on that?

Now I think it’s a possibility but it depends on size and blood flow. It’s works best on keratinous lumps and bumps as it basically cauterises the top of them, they scab, the scab falls off. If the lump is fleshy it’s going to bleed like a bastard (I know this as I attacked the thing DP has on his shoulder) so I would be cautious, particularly on your face as it will go black and look terrible. Personally I’d want something large and in my face tackled by a professional.

If you look at these plasma pens on YouTube you can see how people are using them and the results they get. They’re fab but exercise caution. I looked like a Dalmatian for a while under my clothes 🤣

Thanks @justanotherneighinparadise , I might try it on a random mole on my thigh as an experiment.
I had a lesion removed from my ankle last year, when I showed the Dr she was dismissive about my ugly warty nose.

Is it not quite dangerous?

Silvernutmeg70 · 12/11/2020 11:19

I had two under my breast removed with electrolysis, a woman provided a private service at my health centre once a month. It cost £50 and took a couple of minutes. I didn't find it too painful and they've never come back - well worth it.

There's no blood supply so you can just snip it off with clean sterilised scissors, boil them in water.
