Need winter footwear that's as comfy as trainers (or winter trainers if they exist)

Since Covid I've started walking every day, just to the local shops and / or around the park. I've lived in my trainers, and they are so comfortable. I can't see me going back to wearing uncomfortable footwear now. But my trainers are flimsy fabric, so I get wet feet if it rains.

Can any of you suggest some winter footwear that's just as comfortable for local walking? I'd be open to more trainers that feel more wintery but whenever I google 'waterproof trainers' I get lots of fugly looking black walking shoes.

I like the idea of an ankle height boot but with the bouncy soles of a trainer but haven't found anything like this so far.

You can see the difference round the top of the boot in these two pictures - the pascal grips her ankle but the 1460 fastens stiffer instead.

I got a pair of Sorel high top boots for this winter and love them. The waterproof Vans look lovely too and I'm tempted by those now.

I have these boots by Skechers www.skechers.com/en-gb/style/48459/taxi-don-t-trip/blk and they are lovely. I have bought them in brown and black and they are so comfortable. I have worn them for three years now and they are in perfect condition. They are so so comfortable.

You can get leather converse,some good ones adult sizes,but as i take a 2 i have to buy youths and this year very few leather ones in those.Mine were bought in last couple years,grey,wine and gold and cream leather and ive whte leather pair.But this year very few but have seen good ones in adult sizes.

I have those black suede skechers and they are very comfy, I also have the mushroom colour.

hyperfish, those are two fab pairs of shoes! Are they both water proof?

I'm currently awaiting delivery of the most expensive pair of boots I've ever bought. Grensons on sale at £179.

Now the difficult part - deciding on one pair from all these amazing recommendations. Need to hurry up and buy some now!

I've narrowed it down to three pairs: The Vejas, The Vans and the North Face boots

Just to say my north face boots arrived and I love them! I bought them in black & replaced the laces to plain black. They are super comfortable, light and warm. Massive thanks to whoever posted about them here!

I have the vejas in a tan colour, they are gorgeous and I wear them a lot but not mud proof and not bouncy sole. But they make everything look marginally more stylish.

I think I’m going to get a pair of Skechers to leave in car for walks.

When I used to ride I had the most gorgeous pair of leather riding trainers, Ariat Terrains. Mine were dark brown lace ups but they do lots and lots of styles. They were soooo comfy, I used to wear them all the time whether riding or shopping!

NF ones are waterproof. I haven’t yet jumped into a stream to test them yet but they’ve definitely kept my feet dry during some very rainy weather.

I ordered the Vans in dark red. I'm going to ask for the North Face ones for Christmas.

I’m after stylish wellies now. I really want the Hunter ankle ones I think but £100 for wellies is mad!

Just to say I have the waterproof Vanns in grey and absolutely love them. Comfy, warm and we have been on grotty walks in the mud and they still clean easily.

I love that they look at home on a hike but also good with Mom jeans/ dress/ leather leggings etc.

Get leather trainers instead of fabric. There are lots of leather options available.

Ecco lace up shoes and boots are so comfortable. I found ecco lace up black boots in TKMaxx recently.
