I've made an appointment for tear trough fillers

I hate the hollows under my eyes and am fed up with people asking me if I'm tired.
After months years of researching I've decided to bite the bullet.
I've found a Dr who seems to specialise on Alice Hart-Davis's website and saved the £450.
My biggest fear is lots of bruising but google tells me to eat pineapple and take Arnica.
A tips or experiences would be really welcome, I'm very nervous about it not reaching expectations.

Good luck, hope it goes well
I’ve not had them but it’s something I’ve considered. I also constantly get are you tired comments too

IndieTara · 10/10/2020 13:38

I had tear trough filler 2 months ago. I found it less painful than other areas of my face because they used a cannula.
I also really like the result, it's def helped the hollow look but hasn't reduced dark circles in any way

puffinclubmember · 10/10/2020 14:35

Thanks for the replies. This Dr uses a cannula too so I hoping not too painful. Did you get any bruising @IndieTara?
I do have dark circles but concealer takes the edge off, I'm hoping the fillers will make a difference to the hollows.

Hi OP no bruising at all but if you haven't had filler before it can be a weird sensation.

BlackSwan · 10/10/2020 15:31

I had this for the first time recently. I didn't enjoy having it done, but I gritted my teeth. Dr also used a cannula. I had minor bruising. Give it a week or two to settle. Hope it goes well for you, let us know.

I really want that done too but I’m scared!! Can you take a before and directly after and a month after pic of just the under eye area pls so we can see? That would be sooo helpful!
Good luck.

i've had it, it was fine - little bit of swelling for a couple of days but not bruising, i went back for a top up after a couple of weeks i think because my the doctor i saw prefers to under fill and then top it.

puffinclubmember · 10/10/2020 17:12

Thanks for the positive stories. Looks great @IndieTara, you are much younger than me, I'd be thrilled with results like that.
I'll take before and after photos, my appointment is early November.

Thanks Indie, appreciate that. If I could look that good I’d be well chuffed. I’m starting saving now so hopefully I can!!

trumpisaflump · 10/10/2020 17:25

I had this for the first time a month or so ago and I'm really happy with them. I look a lot less tired and more youthful. I bruise soooo easily but didn't bruise at all with this. I had a little mark on my cheek where she inserted the cannula but it was easily covered and went in a day or two. Good luck. You've obviously gone for a great clinician judging by the price so I'm sure you'll be happy.
Also I would say my dark circles are just as bad as before but easy to cover with concealer.

passmethewineplease · 10/10/2020 17:38

I really want this done. I’m 30 and under the eye area is so hollow it looks awful.

How much did everyone pay?

trumpisaflump · 10/10/2020 18:03

@passmethewineplease I paid £200 but I'm in Scotland so prices will be cheaper

BlackSwan · 10/10/2020 18:23

30 seems a bit young to need it! Without seeing a pic, that is. I'm mid 40's.
Realise the aesthetic these days is for younger women to be all plumped up and smooth...

BlackSwan · 10/10/2020 18:24

Indie you look great btw. Very natural result.

IndieTara · 10/10/2020 18:33

@puffinclubmember I'm 53

IndieTara · 10/10/2020 18:34

Thanks@BlackSwan I'm really happy with it

passmethewineplease · 10/10/2020 18:51

@BlackSwan I think mines down to genetics my mum has very hollow tear troughs. I’ve attached a pic.

Writersblock2 · 10/10/2020 18:52

I’m super tempted. I get Botox and lip filler and this just seems like a good natural progression.

BlackSwan · 10/10/2020 18:55

If it troubles you - go for it. But your eyes look totally fine & I'm sure the overall impression is very youthful still!

AuntMasha · 10/10/2020 18:57

I had this done a couple of years ago. They last longer than fillers on other parts of the face. I had my top-up recently and the aesthetic nurse said I didn’t need much since they had lasted so well. You won’t regret it, it makes such a difference.

AuntMasha · 10/10/2020 18:58

Though, yes as other PP said, your eyes look perfectly fine to me.

Savemyusername01 · 10/10/2020 19:05

I had it done with cheek fillers at the same time and I found it horrible (uncomfortable rather than painful,) I bruised badly and I’m not sure it helped.

The cheek fillers showed a subtle result but the tear trough fillers didn’t make any difference and in photos I could see a slight ridge which accentuated the bags. Waste of money for me!

IndieTara · 10/10/2020 19:14

When I had my tear troughs done I also had cheeks done to lift my naso labial folds, and some filler on the bridge of my nose. 2 weeks ago I went back and had some Botox :-))
I was made redundant in lockdown and used some of the money on myself for a change!

passmethewineplease · 10/10/2020 20:03

Ah thank you! Think they look better than they are in that pic! Grin
