Anyone else feel like this?
I’ve always been high maintenance since my teens but in the last year or so, the list of what I need to keep me looking well presented and feeling “normal” seems to be getting longer.

This morning I’ve just placed orders for what I now consider essentials - plumping serum, vaginal moisturiser, hair dye, neck and chest cream, hair styling cream, 4 different supplements and progesterone cream. I’m 48 and my budget seems to be going more and more on these types of products and there is less and less for clothes and pretty things like make up.

At this age I thought I would be shopping at Jaegar and John Lewis and buying Bobbi Brown or Charlotte Tilbury. Instead I have to buy from eBay and Primark and most of my makeup is MUA or NYX.

@CharlottesComplicatedWeb: I had to do the training first as well. I genuinely tried it. I think they ask you to do it to rule out pelvic floor issues.

I've looked for over the counter stuff but found nothing. I'm medicated now with Regurin/Vesicare (which I've bought online if my pills have run out).

I think the rule is not to drink anything that will further irritate your bladder such as caffeine based drinks and anything citric. I don't drink so wine not an issue for me.

So you end up drinking practically nothing and dehydrating, which makes it worse.

I haven't had a proper pee since 2002. Sad

One of the best advice I got was to wear my face skincare on my neck and the back of my hands.

Basically I "rub off" any excess serum/active ingredient etc. in those areas and it makes a massive difference.

I take skincare quite seriously, but refuse to buy separate products for eyes/neck and hands.

I cant remember for certain but i think i did that anyway and my neck still looks 50 even though my face looks 45.

@ageingdisgracefully... I’ll need to call them. Again.

For libido parsley tea and avocados help. Dont make the tea too strong or it loosens the bowels. No need for progesterone cream! Surely better to treat within.

hallelujah for this thread...Im learning sooooo much 🎉🌺

@CharlottesComplicatedWeb some issues can be caused by tight pelvic floor muscles so all the training and tightening can make things worse.

See your GP about meds.

@JMAngel1

So is it a general rule that once the menopause is over (defined by 12 months since last period?), all the menopause symptoms go away?
God, no. If only.

The only things I've got recently have been:-

L'oreal serum in a red bottle and Vit C Serum (Revolution) also Rosehip Oil which I now get from Ebay. None of the latter apart from Rosehip Oil appears to have made a difference.

I've always used a night cream but just use any of them, cheapest really.

I don't bother with a neck or chest cream either. Hair dye or hair styling cream - always have either got highlights or got hair dyed. Hair styling cream, yes but more finishing creams, leave in conditioners etc - have to use a serum and finishing cream on my hair.

Vaginal moisturiser - no - you can get this if you need it via prescription but not wanted to use this - if I do get dry there I can use other things.

This! I try to do this when I remember but sometimes get spots on neck if I do this.

My nana used to always tell me to 'moisturise your hands and neck as they show ageing' - at almost 50 I've not noticed wrinkles there so had better get moisturising quick!

Since my periods finally stopped in the spring (I am 56!) all the nasty perimenopausal symptoms have gone.

To be honest i feel a lot healthier now. I still take Vogel Menopause Support supplements as a precaution mind.
