Has anyone started Dermatica lately?

I've just signed up for Dermatica and the site says my pictures are awaiting review. I ended up googling and saw lots of awful reviews saying it was taking weeks for this to happen and customer service take forever to respond to emails. This has worried me a bit. Has anyone had any success signing up lately? How long did it take to receive your prescription?

I am 2 months in, about to start month theee. First month was .25 trentoin and 4% hydroquinone. Second increased to .5 trentoin. I see some improvement in pores and a difference with a brown patch I have been working on for years. Satisfied thus far.

Stripesnomore · 17/10/2020 16:50

It has taken three months for my pores to improve.

I’ve read it takes 6-12 for retin-a to start reversing lines.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 18/10/2020 09:06

Started recently and no issues with delivery so far. Some improvement as not many painful or large spots but I know it will take some time for the marks from previous breakouts to fade.

JonasKahnwald · 18/10/2020 13:37

@paastumho I've been using the tretinoin right up to my lashline as I have very dark circles. I'm hoping my skin gets thicker there or something 🤔 I'm also hoping it sorts out my saggy jowls but I don't hold out much hope 🤣

Anotheruser02 · 19/10/2020 16:17
This woman on youtube says it absorbs sideways too, she draws around where she puts hers.
Northernlass99 · 21/10/2020 16:25

Mine arrived within four days.

OllyBJolly · 24/10/2020 22:07

Oddly - I’ve found the Dermatica treatment has diminished some skin tags/facial warts I was developing. Worth it for that alone!

Anotheruser02 · 24/10/2020 22:15

What potion are you on Olly? Is it tret? I have some bumps which are not spots, I'm hoping they smooth out they are like tiny raised pores.

OllyBJolly · 24/10/2020 22:37

@Anotheruser02 Tretonin and Hydroquinine

Anotheruser02 · 25/10/2020 13:15

I'm such a mess right now, about 11 or 12 days in with tret 0.05%. I had such lovely results with 0.025 after just a few weeks, now I feel like I've gone backwards. I have a lot of sensitivity and very dark pink areas, my period has just arrived so also the usual spots.

I also bought Differin recently for my body acne (back and tops of arms) so I'm about 5 days in with that and itching like mad on my arms.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/10/2020 14:17

I'm on my second month of Tret and hydraquinone- first month was 0.25 second month 0.5 and the peeling has ramped up quite a bit - I don't want to aggravate my skin too much by using a mechanical exfoliator but equally I don't want to use too much in the way of acids. Hopefully it's a short phase and my skin sorts itself out soon.
The overall effects are so good, however that it does seem a small price to pay

popularinthe80s · 27/10/2020 08:13

Hi everyone, if this thread is still active, I'd really appreciate some feedback. I've been started on:
Tretinoin 0.015% / Niacinamide 4% / Azelaic Acid 4%
The tret seems really low to start with, where others are starting on 0.25 tret?
Also, I asked for help with pigmentation as well as fine lines. A patch of pigmentation actually seems to be getting worse, is this normal? Also my script didn't include any hydroquinone, but others seem to be getting offered this for pigmentation?
Thanks

LadyOfTheCanyon · 27/10/2020 17:37

Did you upload pictures?

JonasKahnwald · 27/10/2020 20:25

@popularinthe80s i started on 0.015% I'm being sent 0.025 next month ( my second month).

Anotheruser02 · 27/10/2020 21:47

I did read that pigmentation can get darker first, something to do with it surfacing everything.

popularinthe80s · 28/10/2020 07:02

@LadyOfTheCanyon, yes, I did.
@Anotheruser02 thanks, that's reassuring.
@JonasKahnwald, also reassuring.
I've emailed them for further info on their rationale for treatment, just to check.

gottakeeponmovin · 28/10/2020 07:07

Is this suitable for teenagers. Sounds like a great present for my acne prone 16 year old?

popularinthe80s · 29/10/2020 07:08

@gottakeeponmovin I don't know the age limit, but they definitely treat acne.

I know this because....Dermatica have sent me the wrong prescription- one for acne instead of fine lines/hyperpigmentation, despite clear instructions and photos.

They've made it worse by not reading my emails properly. I've asked about my concerns that the tret is increasing hyperpigmentation. Their response was that my prescription will definitely help with my acne and ignoring my concerns about the hyperpigmentation. They clearly haven't read my communications.

I know they've given brilliant service to others, but I'm not impressed, so far.

Anotheruser02 · 29/10/2020 11:07

Popular when you go into your dashboard what is the concern at the top? mine says anti ageing, tret, niacinamide and azelaic are all in their hyperpigmentation range, you have three out of the four pigmentation ingrediants the only one you don't have is hydroquinone, I might be wrong but I don't think anyone gets all four ingredients for their designated problem (from what I see on here) it looks like most people get three actives. I noticed some light browny patches I had fading with niacinamide serum before using dermatica (even though it was oilyness I was aiming to reduce).
I don't think the people responding to emails are quite as on the ball as the people processing the prescriptions because I sent pictures of my back acne as a separate issue wanting a separate cream, when I chased it they told me not to use my cream (which was for anti ageing) on the body, I never intended to I wanted a separate acne treatment!

The acne treatment would usually have some kind of anti biotic in, mine was for anti aging and mild face acne (congested pores rather than proper spots) and even that had clindamycin (an anti biotic) in it. I hope they get back to you with reassurance but I wouldn't loose heart in the mean time because you are using the usual actives for your issues.

popularinthe80s · 29/10/2020 11:29

@Anotheruser02 thanks for this.
Yep, it does say 'anti-ageing' on my dashboard.
Thanks for explaining all of this - this is more reassuring.
I'll see what their next communication brings.

ILookAtTheFloor · 30/10/2020 07:58

I did Dermatica Tret for over a year, had to quit because I'm TTC 😔😔😔 still miss it.

My skin looked great. My regime is still extensive but I do get more spots now.

Can't wait to get back on it, god knows when that'll be!

cloud1183 · 07/11/2020 08:34

I can’t recommend this enough. I started on adapalene/niacinamide/clindamycin and although my skin improved a bit, I still got about two giant cystic spots a month (better than the usual 5). They then put me on tret 0.5/niacinamide/clindamycin and my face is absolutely clear for the first time in years and I didn’t get one spot during my last period. My skin looks fresh and plump and I can even use facial oils without breaking out.

Dermatica told me to use it nightly but when I tried that I got really bad peeling around my chin/jaw so had to scale back to alternate nights and focus on moisture in my night off whuch I have never done before as my skin is usually very oily and I always targeted reducing my oily skin before.

I invested in Sunday Riley Juno facial oil and a good moisturiser and my peeling has gone now. I can’t recommend dermatica enough. I just hope it will hurry up and heal the red marks left from the cysts
