My Adidas Gazelles make it worse.

I hate horrible fabric trainers with fugly soles.

Any tips?

Try Brookes or Ryka.

(Or google for lists - I found a plantar fasciitis group who had rated their favourites.)

What worked for me was getting some good quality insoles and then using the shoes I had with them.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 07/09/2020 14:38

Did you have them specially measured?

Vionics are great (an American orthotic brand) with a very high instep which is what you need to support your falling arches and stretch your foot, which helps relieve heel pain.

www.vionicshoes.co.uk (Their ’Nana’ trainers on the home page are nice)

I did have orthotic made-to-measure inserts but I could never find any trainers where I could fit my feet into with them in, but when I was living in the States I discovered Vionic trainers so didn’t need the inserts anymore.

Jocasta2018 · 07/09/2020 14:48

I've got orthotic insoles & use ASIC trainers as you can remove the insoles.

artisanparsnips · 07/09/2020 14:51

No, just got a good quality brand from Amazon.

Having said that, I only had plantar fasciitis once, so this may not be a good tactic if you're getting it more regularly

linerforlife · 07/09/2020 14:53

I have PF and fit flop rally in white have been my go to lately!!

motherofawhirlwind · 07/09/2020 14:54

Skechers GO Walk are the best for me. Tried all sorts.

TheSeedsOfADream · 07/09/2020 15:01

Adidas are really bad for PF because they are very flat (gave my beautiful Gazelles to DD)
Fitflop fsporty are what I live in now.
And Skechers for supermarket shop etc.
Ecco are also very good.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 07/09/2020 16:51

I have some Vans canvas trainers. They don’t cause PF. (Hopeful)

Is it just a Gazelle thing?

I’ve tried really really hard to line all the kind suggestions on here. But looking at them all makes me want to cry😥😁

I’ve got leather ones from Ecco and fitflop. Very plain.

anxiousstanley · 07/09/2020 17:32

Can I just give you a ray of hope? It does go. One day you will wake up and the pain will have gone. It's so uncomfortable whilst you have it but I hope that it gives you a little comfort to know it's not forever. Sending hugs xx

Mellonsprite · 07/09/2020 17:33

I got some men’s under armour running shoes. Very cushioned and supportive on my high arches. I also ordered inserts for my shoes from amazon.

Iliketeaagain · 07/09/2020 17:51

I was going to suggest insoles too. I've managed to get vionics insoles in all my trainers, including my Stan smiths (hooray!). I just take the insole of the trainer out and replace with a vionics one - was recommended by the podiatrist I saw about my plantar fascitis.

Vionics shoes are also pretty good, I bought some in the sale. What you do need to be careful of is wearing orthopaedic insoles gradually - they can make the muscles in your feet ache if you wear them all day for the first to.

It might also be worth seeing an osteopath - I have planters fascitis, partly caused because I was walking funny because my hips and spine were squew-wiff, probably pregnancy related that just never went back to straight again (obvs the podiatrist and osteopath used more professional language),but a combo of insoles and osteopath sorted my pain out.

hellswelshy · 07/09/2020 17:53

I've just got some New Balance running trainers, £60 from Sports direct. They are sooo comfy...Not sure about stylish?

JeanneFrench · 07/09/2020 18:55

Asics

You can also put inner soles or othotics inside.

MostDefinitelyNot · 07/09/2020 18:58

Puma's have a comfort insole and I live by them.

pawpawpawpaw · 07/09/2020 20:49

I put a rigid arch support under the insole, but because the flatness can be a problem I also have heel inserts.
I have New Balance 997 and 667 which have a little height in the heel. (Like you I don't like fabric trainers, mine are suede, not sure if that works for you?) Some trainers look less flat but aren't, they're just deeper. I had to try on a lot of trainers.
You have all my sympathy, pf is miserable.

Elieza · 07/09/2020 21:02

Vionics is today’s special value on qvc U.K. at 9pm, now, but it’s boots. They will have lots of other things on the show too or check the qvc U.K. website

You can try them outside and everything for 60 days free and return if not suitable. You also get monthly payments at no extra cost.

Channel 660 on sky.

chocolatespiders · 08/09/2020 04:44

I have this for the second time now. I literally feel your pain. I have been looking at asics gel trainers but they are canvas.
I have heard good things about fit Flops.
Also scholl insole.

Gooseysgirl · 08/09/2020 06:36

FitFlop trainers

TeddyIsaHe · 08/09/2020 06:38

NOT Skechers - my ortho told me off royally, they are awful for painful feet.

I get an insole and put in my shoes, it works well.

If it’s really bothering you, get a referral and get some steroid injections, they do help for a good few months.

cheesycrisps · 08/09/2020 06:48

these insoles go in most things. I use them in converse and boots, they’ve been a live saver
Also fitflop slippers for the house so I’m always getting some support

Having painful feet it horrible

Indoctro · 08/09/2020 06:53

Oofos which are runners shoes made for PF

www.oofos.co.uk

FippertyGibbett · 08/09/2020 06:56

ASICS for me.
The only thing that got rid of my PF was the laser treatment.
