The annual jeans/footwear combo confusion starts again

I always struggle with this!

So - skinny jeans are easy - tuck into boots.

Other jean shapes that are cropped or can be turned up - also ok with boots or trainers.

What about full length straight leg jeans? Boots don't work. Are trainers ok? What about socks with them, trainer socks or normal ankle socks?

Tips please?

All these women with jeans shorter than the boots look homeless

If you roll them up it's deliberate and cool

If they're just too short it looks weird

No way am I wearing jeans 2” too short, I’m 6ft, and I’d definitely look like I couldn’t find a pair to fit! I’ll stick to skinnies and boots, or wider and trainers.

Just bin all your full length straight leg jeans

I've got 2 relatively new pairs. It was a revelation trying straight legs, they are so much more flattering on me being an inverted triangle shape. Suppose I'll just wear trainers with them.

God all my jeans are skinnies. They still fit and haven’t fallen apart. So will stay unfashionable until the do - for the sake of the environment and all that!

Kate nails it, of course. Looks like heels are necessary though...
