Non-frumpy rain jacket?

I recently bought a Joules Coast jacket from eBay, but since wearing it I’ve noticed that nearly everyone else I’ve noticed in similar styles is about a decade older than me! It’s a perfectly nice jacket but I’ve realised it makes me feel just a little bit frumpy in it... (Also, it hasn’t actually kept me dry, which is kind of essential for a raincoat, I think.)

Can anyone recommend a warmish, stylish raincoat that’s vegan (no down or wool), above the knee, available in colours other than black, and not covered in logos? Oh, and preferably not shaped at the waist, because I’m built like a brick with tits and any waist shaping just makes me look about three feet across.

Thank you!

Thanks, I actually had it reproofed but now it's just a bit sad and faded looking, and still lets in the rain round the arm seams. I'm hoping it'll survive this winter and I'll get something new in the sales next year.

Thanks for all the suggestions! @bookish83 I really like the look of that Asda one, but it’s sold out online Sad @CosmoMacaroon Had never heard of Stutterheim but the Stockholm looks perfect for me!

@thedevilinablackdress The thing is that the coat doesn’t do the job. And I’m just hitting the age now (mid-40s) where I’m actually starting to notice the signs of ageing (crepey neck, frown lines) and so, although I’m not in denial about getting older, I don’t want to wear something that might suggest at first glance that I’m older than I am, if that makes sense? Also, I know that older doesn’t equal frumpy, but I do feel frumpy in that coat, and while that may be internalised sexism, I’m not so confident in myself that I can just shrug off my possibly distorted ideas of what other people may perceive.

Hey I get it BabC none of us are immune to the decades of conditioning and there's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel good.
I'm just waging a campaign on MN S&B against the word Frumpy at the moment 😄

@BabCNesbitt

I'm not a huge George fan but seeing the coats instore yesterday really impressed me. It was the matt, muted tones, and the detail on the coat. X

@Gillybobs

They definitely keep the rain offs, they are proper technical fabric (hence the price) but I've had mine a few years and they look brand new. Definitely wind proof too. On extremely cold days I wear a uniqlo lightweight down jacket underneath. I'm kind of evangelical about them as before discovering them I spent a lifetime cold and wet due to refusing to wear a sensible jacket!
I want reiterate everything @Gillybobs said. Fab rainproof jackets and coats that still look brand new a few years on

I just bought this from Uniqlo. Hasn't arrived yet so can't give a review
