Good tinted moisturisers?

I'm lucky and have never had to wear foundation/anything on my skin. But not I'm getting older and wrinklier I think I'd benefit from a bit more coverage. I don't want to go the whole hog of foundation so thought I'd try a tinted moisturiser. But although I love makeup this is a totally new area to me so I was going for some recommendations.

Also, do you apply it by hand or with a brush? If a brush I'd love to know what sort!

Tia Thanks

@Blueroses14
I had to bite the bullet and use a magnifying mirror to get the finish I wanted ( especially on skin and eyes) but it has made SUCH a difference.

It's expensive but the la mer skin tint is the best I've ever used (and now in my 50s I've tried almost everything!) I like that it's also giving me skin care benefits. Also if you don't really wear make up the Chanel water fresh tint is really great. It's very very light but blurs everything and is cooling and comfortable to wear.
