Haircut disaster

I had my haircut on Sunday and the hairdresser has made a complete and utter balls up of it. I'm going back tomorrow to see the most senior/experienced stylist to see if he can do anything with it. Can any hairdressers on here advise me what he might suggest, or what I can suggest? Pics attached. First two is the haircut from hell, second two are what I showed the hairdresser to describe what I wanted.

Shall I start panic buying hats?

Sod the discount. Name and shame them.
Get yourself on Twitter.

Oh no! I'm glad that you're much happier with the salvage haircut but so annoying that it wasn't what you wanted. Angry

I sympathise - I had my hair done 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to just be a colour (which the stylist did a lovely job of and I'm happy with it) but while I was there she said she had time for a trim. It looked fine in the salon - she showed me the back and took photos but when I got home I realised that it was completely wonky! It looked like I had been the victim of a bad lockdown haircut.

I'm glad you're happier with it, but I personally, I wouldn't go back there.

MistyMinge2 · 05/08/2020 20:47

Glad you're feeling happier. I'm not sure I'd go back there though.

If you can afford it, I think it would look good if you went blonder, like the pictures you posted.

Bargebill19 · 05/08/2020 20:52

The salvage does make it look better.
You are braver than me at going in back - I’d have opted for the hat of the day look for awhile!

DianaT1969 · 05/08/2020 22:46

Don't go back there. They don't deserve your money in future. He was very cheeky to offer a future discount. Was the original stylist there watching the repair job?

BruceAndNosh · 05/08/2020 22:56

I don't know how he's managed it, but the top actually looks longer.
However no refund and a discount is not good enough. I'd want free trims until its grown to thr length and style you originally wanted.
Are you in Scotland by any chance?
I think your first stylist also does Nicola. Sturgeons hair!

goingtotown · 05/08/2020 23:00

I’d go back & ask for a refund.
The style is completely different to what you asked for, it’ll be months before it grows to have the style you originally asked for.
A discounted price is insulting he knows you won’t go back there CF.

loveskaka · 05/08/2020 23:03

Still has a lot of scissor marks, blunt lines etc. Just let it grow and go elsewhere.

ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon · 05/08/2020 23:12

Wait until you wash and dry it yourself OP. Unfortunately I suspect he's just styled the cut better.

DeRigueurMortis · 06/08/2020 00:41

@ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon

Sadly I think that's true.

On the first picture of the rescue cut it's still very "blocky" in the area you couldn't get to lie flat.

You could well find that when styled yourself it's not significantly better Sad

TheRealHousewife · 06/08/2020 07:01

That does look so much better and a better foundation to grow into the original cut you wanted.

FlibbertyGiblets · 06/08/2020 13:24

Quite fancy your tea .

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 06/08/2020 16:05

Just wanted to say that you cannot let a short cut air dry, unless you have poker straight hair or a buzz cut

My pixie has to be washed and dried (with a hairdryer) every day or it looks fucking terrible. It takes no time at all to do, but you do need to do it. Every day. Then whack a bit of product in.

I've had friends who go for the chop then wail 'why didn't you tell me' ? so i'm telling you Grin
