So, ive recently got a few bits from Glossier and really liking it so far, so thought it might be good to have a thread where people can share their likes, dislikes and recommendations.

So far i have:

Futuredew - love it so far. I cant see me using it makeup free as it's a bit too much, but beautiful under a light foundation / bb cream. Ive also used it before bed and my skin feels amazing the next day.

Cloudpaint - so this is what drew me to Glossier and i haven't been disappointed. I ordered in beam and it's very pretty, but just not quite the right colour for my pale skin, but it will be fab to mix with others. I love the texture, it seems very buildable and a little goes a long way. Have a found my HG blush? Once i have the right shade, yes possibly.

Holographic lipgloss - i should say that I wasn't planning to buy this, but it made sense to buy the set which includes a lipgloss, so i ended up with this one. I had low expectations tbh but i really love it. It catches the light beautifully when worn alone, but is also great over a blotted lipstick. So far, so good.

So far i would recommend all of the above. The price isn't cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. There's always a 10% off code which helps. (i posted my 10% off link in the promo codes board but worth asking friends or family if they have one, in case you would prefer to send a Glossier credit their way)

I've also now ordered the Perfecting Skin Tint and Stretch Concealer in G10 and i have high hopes for these. I know the PST gives very little coverage and that's fine with me. Hope i like it!

Sneakily i also added another cloudpaint to my order so I'm also waiting for Storm to arrive - I'm hoping this, possibly paired with beam on occasion, will be my dream blush.

Keen to know what you have liked / disliked - what lives up to the hype and what doesn't? Also any tips or hacks for application would be great. ❤️

I use the cleanser when I get up to clean my face and also before bed too. The bonus is that it takes off eye make up too!

You lot are costing me money! I’m sitting with a full basket but can’t get a promo code to work. There’s not that many posts in the referral thread I found and I’ve googled some codes but none seem to be working. Any ideas? Would love to order some make up.

TooMinty · 31/07/2020 16:26

@curlytops21 I got some Milk Jelly in my order - you can either use it as make up remover on dry skin then rinse off or use as face wash on wet skin. I've only used it once but it seemed nice, non scented so unlikely to irritate skin.

TooMinty · 31/07/2020 16:27

I tried my free sample of cloud paint today - was expecting Dusk to be way too dark on my pale skin but it looks good! I did cheeks and lips, handy multi purpose colour.

@Housewife2010

Even though Glossier are targeted at the millennial, as a woman "in my prime" I do find their products excellent. Admittedly I have good skin, but I like their light perfected aesthetic. My favourite item is the stretch concealer. I use it every day under my eyes and around my nose. My first pot lasted two years of daily use. I'm now on my second.
Housewife i agree with this entirely. I'm 42 and finding it all sits really nicely on my skin and is much more flattering than other brands I've tried. 👍🏻

Thanks - i think I'm going to order this too.

Had a bit of a breakthrough this morning. I didn't use futuredew this morning - just the skin tint, concealer and cloud paint and feel everything went on much smoother and settled nicer without future dew. As such, i may keep that as a wee nighttime serum/oil application or mix with a very slightly heavier foundation for a night out or something.

Yes I'm 41 - wonder if anyone younger does actually use it? 😂

My 14 year old does! She loves the Jelly Cleanser and Boy Brow in particular.

I've PM'd you.

Got my first order this morning!
Haven't used the cleanser as I'd already had my shower before the delivery. Got the Future Dew - it says to use as the last step in your routine and I'd already put my spf moisturiser on so it went on after that. Just sunk straight in nicely. Wasn't as shimmery as I thought. I also got the skin tint and concealer in G10. The skin tint is a bit hard to apply as it sinks right in so hard to tell how much to use. I think I got the shade just right, 2 Glossier people told me G10 and I was veering to that one anyway.
The skin tint is so light I wasn't sure it was worth it but I rarely use tinted moisturiser these days, let alone foundation so I wasn't expecting full coverage.
Love the concealer - again very light but does seem to brighten and cover.

Re the Futuredew, even though Glossier calls it the last step in your skincare routine, I think of it as the first step in my makeup routine - as a primer or it can be used as a highlighter. I would always put it over SPF. I tend to use 8 drops of the skin tint. I always give it a shake first. I find it useful sometimes to sheer out other bases. Skin Tint is my sheerest base.Sometimes I use Chantecaille Just Skin which is thicker and sometimes I mix the two together. I have G11 for winter and G9 for summer ( these are the original Glossier Light and Medium shades).

@Housewife2010 thanks

lotusbell · 01/08/2020 23:15

Helpful, @Housewife2010, thank you!

curlytops21 · 03/08/2020 22:52

Ok the good news is that i now know my favourite Cloud Paint - the bad news is that i don't own it... Yet 😉.

I tried the sample of Dawn today and wow - it's awesome. Brightened my whole face and actually seemed to last longer than the other colours I've tried.

So looks like i will be ordering this (and probably a Vinylic lip colour) tomorrow.

Happy days.

I haven't ever ordered from Glossier before but am tempted. I am thinking of ordering:

  • The Perfecting Skin Tint. I have recently stopped wearing foundation but I feel like a little bit of coverage would be perfect.
  • Stretch Concealer. I have quite prominent blue/purple under-eye circles so I layer quite a lot of concealer under my eyes which can end up looking cakey. I'm not sure whether the Stretch Concealer will give me enough coverage though?
  • Cloud Paint. I am leaning towards the colour Puff. I am pale with a blue undertone so I think the cool-toned pink will suit me but I'm not sure.
WrinklesShminkles · 04/08/2020 14:55

I'm cool toned and pale too; I have Puff and love it. But I didn't find it very cool-toned; on me it has a very slightly peachy tone. I'd describe it as a flattering neutral pale pink with a satin finish. I repurchased well before I ran out Smile I also have Haze and like that too, but it's a different texture (a stain). Puff is easier to apply.

I also recently bought Stretch Concealer in G11. Really like it, it's a very natural finish. Medium coverage for a concealer. Lasts quite well.

The Skin Tint and concealer are two of my favourite Glossier buys. I have replaced both and have the tint in two shades. It is sheer but is lovely and great for a touch of coverage. The concealer is excellent. It won't cover very dark circles - you may need a corrector underneath. I like it because my under eye area can be dry and it is very hydrating and lasts well. Don't forget to use a code on your first order. I would be very grateful if you would consider using mine ; it's on the Mumsnet promo codes board.

trumpisaflump · 05/08/2020 11:42

I received my delivery yesterday. So exciting! I got the Stretch concealer in G10 and I think I like it. Creamy and easy to blend and seems to have staying power. I love the lip balm (I got Rose). Lovely and moisturising. Trying out the Futuredew today but it looks lovely. I got two Generation G lipsticks which I think was a mistake. I love the thought of matte lipsticks but when I tried them on they immediately made me look older. I'm 46 so prob too old for matte lips 😭

Housewife2010 · 05/08/2020 14:24

Which lipsticks did you get? You can always put some balm on top. I love the concealer. So easy to use and doesn't drag on my dry under eyes. Katie Jane Hughes uses it as a foundation.

trumpisaflump · 05/08/2020 14:57

@Housewife2010 I got Poppy and Like. So a light, orangey red and a pale raspberry pink. Lovely colours but they seem to accentuate my lines. I'll try them with balm on top.
I've got the Futuredew on today under my make up and it's gorgeous! Not sparkly, just seems to light my face from within. I have oily skin on my t zone though and only put it on my cheeks so I hope I don't turn into an oil slick but the end of the day.

Housewife2010 · 05/08/2020 15:42

I haven't tried those. I have Zip but I never wear it because it's more obvious than I like - I prefer reds too be more sheer. Futuredew is a lovely texture.

curlytops21 · 11/08/2020 10:35

Morning all

Can anyone recommend the best place to sell a couple of Glossier products which have only been swatched / used once?

I've got two cloudpaints which just aren't my colour.

Thanks!
