I Want The Most Comfortable Shoes

I've had a baby recently, I'm almost 40 and my feet hurt. They seem to permanently hurt and when I get home I just want a massage.
I've started chucking on nice-ish sweaters and lounge pants because I'm always in a rush with the baby.

I'd really like a nice pair of sneakers/casual shoes but I want them to feel like I'm walking through a foot massage parlour. I've got Skechers, New Balance and Lacoste. None of those are working for me.

Please give me your suggestions....

Came on here to say Clarks Funny Dream. Absolutely divine, and come in loads of colours. I also adore Adidas Superstars or Sambas

ASICS trainers with one of those scholl foot support half soles in it.

Vionics trainers are good for me. I tend to overpronate and they have arches in them to support the foot.

Get a pair of barefoot shoes that actually work with your feet, instead of forcing your feet to adapt to the shoe. That's how most foot pain is caused.

You want a shoe with a flexible sole, plenty of room in the toe box, etc. so it's as comfortable as walking around barefoot.

Something like these www.vivobarefoot.com/uk/womens or www.happylittlesoles.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/index/?cat=8121&q=Merrell+

Have you been sized again after pregnancy? Because some people can go up a size permanently during pregnancy or a quick period of weightgain (Ifoundthatoutthepainfulway).

All birds All Birds All birds All birds All birds.
Like walking on a bouncy duvet. Like your feet are wrapped in clouds and you’re carried by fairies.
They are perfect. I’ve never had shoes like them.

This might not help with the foot massage aspect, but I was walking miles and miles when my DS was a baby and actually found that cushioned sneakers aggravated issues with my feet and ankles. I got some 'barefoot' sneakers (Vivo Barefoot) and although it doesn't feel like walking on a cloud, it is much much better for my feet. I don't get shin splits now...

Same here, except for me it was lower and mid back pain. It had been creeping up on me for years, any time I walked a lot, and I thought it was just a part of growing older...

Nope! After I got my first pair of vivos, no back pain after walking for miles. When I went back to my old sneakers for a day, the back pain returned... I now only wear barefoot-style footwear, though I still like my Birkenstock gizeh in the summer, and I haven't had back pain for years. Smile

I swear by my Crocs and my doctor is impressed by them. I have fallen arches and have to wear insoles in shoes and boots but not with the Crocs. Obviously they are not suitable for every occasion but casually speaking they are perfect and my feet can go on forever when I wear them

Go see a specialist and get some orthotics
It was the best 90 I ever spent my feet were in agony and I didn't realise how bad it got until I fixed it

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I'm looking into them all.

Yes my feet have definitely gone up a size since pregnancy @Isthisfinallyit
All my pre pregnancy shoes now pinch my toes.

I should probably go and see a podiatrist for orthotics but they are about $600. (Australia).

I like the sound of the All Birds being wool and keeping feet cosy! My feet are always cold. Walking on clouds and being carried by fairies also sounds amazing!

For a sandal option I recommend Birkenstocks. When I was pregnant with DD I did something to my foot (pulled something or other) and it was absolutely agony. I bought Birkenstocks and they were perfect (in fact I haven't worn any other sandals since). So supportive and a nice range of colours and styles. You can usually get them reduced from somewhere or other.

Try Hotter shoes. Some are definitely towards the more mature market but some aren't and are very supportive and comfortable.

Legero are my new favourites. They feel like an old familiar shoe as soon as I put them on and yet they are really supportive. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and these have been great.

I have the most hurty feet in the whole world. I absolutely love Allbirds- I have had two pairs of wool runners (I wore the first pair until they died), one pair of wool loungers, for... lounging and just being, and a pair of tree dashers- my favourite walking shoes.

I thoroughly recommend them!
