I Want The Most Comfortable Shoes

I've had a baby recently, I'm almost 40 and my feet hurt. They seem to permanently hurt and when I get home I just want a massage.
I've started chucking on nice-ish sweaters and lounge pants because I'm always in a rush with the baby.

I'd really like a nice pair of sneakers/casual shoes but I want them to feel like I'm walking through a foot massage parlour. I've got Skechers, New Balance and Lacoste. None of those are working for me.

Please give me your suggestions....

I saw a presentation on Vionic shoes on QVC channel last year. Every shoe has an orthotic (removable) insole. I ordered a pair and have not looked back. I got these

I call them my nun shoes but I have got to the age where comfort wins over fashion every time. They have loads of fashionable but comfortable shoes too. I don't think I will buy shoes from anywhere else going forward

fridgemagnet71 · 11/07/2020 08:47

Definitely All Birds. They are expensive but really worth it.

4thtimesthecharm · 11/07/2020 18:53

I can recommend Fitflops or Dr martens. They're the only things that keep me going with no problems

Queenie8 · 12/07/2020 20:01

I swear by vionic shoes. I have 11 pairs 🙈.

If I wear a different brand of shoe, I know about it the next day, my feet, knees, hips and back are agony.

Yes they are expensive, but no more than the cost of two physio sessions!

RedRoverLockedIn · 12/07/2020 20:13

Definitely Fitflops! I have had lots of foot problems (flat feet, plantar fasciitis, tendon and Achilles problems) and fitflop shoes and trainers are amazing, it feels like walking on big squishy cushions and there are loads of different styles.

LimedTimbers · 12/07/2020 20:27

All birds definitely

All birds definitely

Hotter shoes are brill. Some styles bit meh. But search. They are so comfy. I’m a martyr to me feet! Clark’s are also great. Fitflops are good. But beware the stretch on the thong sandal. My toes had to grip on to them as they got too loose. Nearly went head down in road thanks to them, twice. So don’t wear them any more.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/07/2020 00:02

Fitflop trainers are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I am not a trainer person but I bought some in the sale in Jan as I’d had a painful foot ( think I fractured it, looking back, but I stupidly didn’t get an x-ray) .
I will definitely buy more. I have walked miles in them through lockdown and it has been bliss.

SirVixofVixHall · 13/07/2020 00:04

I tried in some Hotter sandals, sadly not quite wide enough for me, but so soft and lovely. Friend with foot issues has them and they look really nice. The style is Tourist, comes in lots of colours, if you also want simple sandals.

Saurus72 · 13/07/2020 09:26

All Birds - the wool runners are blissful. They take no breaking in at all. Since lockdown I’ve worn them most days to walk 3 miles first thing in the morning and it’s been a joy. For my next pair, I’m planning to buy the Mizzles which repel water. Can’t recommend highly enough.

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 13/07/2020 10:03

I also recommend Legero. They are quite expensive, but they are the most comfortable shoes I've every worn and very suppportive. I think there is a difference between comfortable, walking on clouds shoes and comfortable, supportive shoes. If I wear shoes, such as Sketchers, they feel wonderful, but I get very achey legs after wearing them, as they don't support my feet and they aren't structured enough. I do love my crocs though!

Toms are really good.. I can't stop wearing them and it's the kind of thing you're comfortable wearing inside and out.

LadyPrigsbottom · 14/07/2020 17:18

Thank you to the pps who recommended the Fit Flop trainers! I am wearing my brand new pair as we speak. They were at my house yesterday lunchtime, when I got back from a long walk in other shoes which had given me blisters on my heels. I've been wearing the Fit Flops ever since and they are so comfy on my sore feet! Very pleased.

Beatricemom89 · 16/07/2020 08:40

You can try using running shoes. I bought mine when I thought I will go running (I didn't). But they are the most comfortable for me. I really have flat feet, so it's difficult to choose comfortable shoes. But in running trainers, I feel great, even think about buying another one.

Ecco are good.

orinocosfavoritecake · 02/03/2022 10:28

Merrells. Ugly as sin, but bliss to walk miles in.
