First thing you need is good underwear.

Buy a hold-it-all-in pair of pants (tummy warmers) and a good, well fitting maternity bra (get measured)

Both are essential!

Am off now to find some nice outfits.

Am chuffed to finally be able to put my fatness to good use to benefit mankind!

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2007 15:52

dear god, with an attitude like that about yourself, obviously only a binbag will do...

HuwEdwards · 26/09/2007 15:52

ok xposts - clothes woman!

fireflyfairy2 · 26/09/2007 15:52

Where do you usually shop at peskipixie?

RubySlippers · 26/09/2007 15:52

hold you in pants under anything are a must
my tummy has not been the same since DS was born

i would go for fab accesories too

RubySlippers · 26/09/2007 15:53

x posts, mtpw

nailpolish · 26/09/2007 15:54

wrapdress?

or would you rather have a skirt/trousers and top for feeding baby (ie a top you can lift up rather than dress you pull down)

Theclosetpagan · 26/09/2007 15:54

Simply Be are good peskipixie but look in the Summer sale and other areas as some items are £60 in one area and £30 in another.

nailpolish · 26/09/2007 15:54

i would recommend bravissimo for a new bra
but get them to size you first

mytwopenceworth · 26/09/2007 15:56

look here

nailpolish · 26/09/2007 15:57

whole outfit

fireflyfairy2 · 26/09/2007 15:57

here

Is this too much for you? Possibly a bit patterned...

I think it's very etheral, but I don't know your taste....

peskipixie · 26/09/2007 15:57

right, will get underwear. wrap dress is quite nice but i am ok to about waist then i just kind of flop so dont want anything remotely tight around waist and hips.

used to shop in gothy type shops, lots of floaty stuff, velvet etc but really cant get that sort of stuff in this size. never had to look particularly presentable til now!

hadnt though of simplybe will have a look, thanks. thats a fab link m2pw

That dress I have linked to is floaty & not tight... but might not be your style.

I'm only 4ft 10" so I can't wear stuff like this dress, though I would love to!

nailpolish · 26/09/2007 15:59

peskipix, i fyou have good underwear you will feel better about wearing something fitted, honest
and you can accessorise with belts etc

enjoy the wedding!

peskipixie · 26/09/2007 16:02

rather like the dress actually, will have to mull it over a bit. wrap top is good but not sure my slef esteem can cope with maternity wear lol, might have a look for something similar tho

mybabysinthegarden · 26/09/2007 16:05

I'm about your size and wore a strapless dress with a full skirt (just below knee-length, sort of like an abbreviated prom dress IYSWIM) to my SIL's wedding. Highlights the boobs and skims over everything else--you'll also need a pashmina or jacket (well you will now anyway as it's getting cold). You can get at your boobs quite easily but they're a bit naked without something over the top!

nailpolish · 26/09/2007 16:05

you know what, ive just realised i made a mistake and searched for maternity wear when i meant to search for breastfeeding/nursing -wear

I AM SO SORRY!

note to self: pay more attention

peskipixie · 26/09/2007 16:06

like this?

might work, and would have good excuse to buy very lovely necklace then

OP posts:
peskipixie · 26/09/2007 16:06

hahaha np

OP posts:
nailpolish · 26/09/2007 16:07

peski
please, again, accept my apologies
i meant to search for nursing clothes not maternity

peskipixie · 26/09/2007 16:09

really np, i am laughing!

I would go an look at Ann Harvey..

You certainly won't get a whole outfit there for £40 but you could find a really nice top and wear with a skirt/trousers that you already have.
