As above - needs to be cruelty free. Any suggestions, please?

Korean brands also do some fantastic cleansing balms. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is my fave.

I too will never be buying another thing from the Body Shop

bookish83 · 15/06/2020 08:58

Has something changed with the body shop? X

kingkuta · 15/06/2020 12:59

Many people are boycotting them because of their response to JK Rowling bookish83

Htbrinks · 15/06/2020 13:24

I actually use the Lyonsleaf balm i love it.

RyanBergarasTeeth · 15/06/2020 13:41

I bought the bodyshop one you mention a few weeks ago before their disgusting misogyny showed so i habe a full tin to use then i also need to find an alternative. I used to buy lots there too but never again.

'I too will never be buying another thing from the Body Shop'

Ditto, until they issue an apology to JK Rowling and women in general. I'm sure they've got that pencilled in for around the 12th of Never Hmm it's a shame, they've got some great products but no way after last week. I cant understand what on earth they were thinking

Carriemac · 15/06/2020 14:05

Yes I’d never buy from them again, I buy DDs beauty stuff too and I’m just looking for a more ethical company for her- she used the seaweed range any non body shop alternatives ?

WellTidy · 15/06/2020 14:25

The Elemis one is gorgeous. Elemis often does excellent offers if you buy direct from them online - I've had a 20g mini if this as a freebie before, and it lasts ages.

kingkuta · 15/06/2020 15:02

QVC often do great Elemis deals

I was going to suggest The Ordinary's Squalene Cleanser too!

Housewife2010 · 15/06/2020 15:31

I was just coming on to recommend The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser too. I prefer it to the Body Shop one too which I find too scented.

bookish83 · 15/06/2020 15:53

Ooh thank you will investigate this. I've been trying to limit how much news and media online I read recently. Definitely missed this x

ExpectTheWorst · 15/06/2020 16:05

OMG I want to cry. What madness is this? I cannot believe what is going on.

tuxedobeauty · 15/06/2020 16:27

Has anyone tried Egyptian magic cream?

Following! I'd already stopped supporting them after I found out they had an MLM as part of their business model, but the JKR thing was the nail in the coffin. They also have an all male board of directors despite most of their staff and customers being women, and consistently fail to report their "gender" pay gap. So definitely one to miss for anyone who wants to shop feminist. My sister has easily triggered excema and loves them, so that's where I usually get lots of her gifts from, plus a very expensive advent calender each Christmas, so looking for alternatives to these.

Lottapianos · 15/06/2020 17:13

The Superfacialist Vitamin C Cleansing Oil is also excellent if you like something with a bit more slip

violetgrey · 15/06/2020 17:27

Evolve cleansing melt is lovely.

Balm Balm has some nice cleansing balms and they have smaller sizes if you want to try it before committing to a full size.

Your daughter might like Glossier’s milky jelly cleanser. It’s really lovely.

Alsohuman · 15/06/2020 17:35

Yes, the Glossier’s nice. Doesn’t touch make up though, it’s more of a second cleanse thing.

violetgrey · 16/06/2020 17:09

Good point Alsohuman! I don’t wear foundation so it’s fine for me.

GellerYeller · 16/06/2020 17:15

Evolve gentle cleansing melt gets my vote too. Excellent customer service and they sent me samples when I asked politely. Stocked in John Lewis now too.

gaggiagirl · 17/06/2020 19:06

The ordinary squalane cleansing balm is great but I seemed to use it faster as it's a thinner texture that the body shop balm. I would buy it again though it comes in a large size now.
