As above - needs to be cruelty free. Any suggestions, please?

There is a small brand called Lyonsleaf that might be suitable? It's more expensive though unfortunately.

homemadecommunistrussia · 11/06/2020 12:20

I like the boots one here I know it divides opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions! Lyonsleaf looks interesting. Will order that and the Boots one and see which one we like best ( daughter and I both use the Body Shop one, but want to swap).

@Pirrip my go to is clinique ttdo balm (but don't know about cruelty free)

Does it have to be a balm? (I do prefer a balm for travelling) but my favourite day to day for first cleanse and makeup removing is DHC deep cleansing oil.

Pirrip · 11/06/2020 12:52

Vax, I prefer a balm in the morning. I have an oil cleanser for evening.

I don't believe Clinique are cruelty free as they sell in China.

Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated.

Clinique is definitely not cruelty free. Boots Botanics are also not crystal clear on their cruelty free position. Cruelty free Kitty blog will give you more info

homemadecommunistrussia · 11/06/2020 16:17

this looks like it might be a gooer, but a bit pricey for me.

M&S Pure Ultimate Cleanse Rose Cleansing Balm?

Thirtyrock39 · 11/06/2020 21:13

Watching with interest
I'm also a fan of the vitamin c range but will be looking for non body shop products from now on (I feel like I've kept them going the last thirty years have bought loads so feel a little lost now )

gaggiagirl · 11/06/2020 21:17

I loved the elemis one but is very expensive. Really lovely product though.

M&S Pure Ultimate Cleanse Rose Cleansing Balm?
Yes, it’s excellent.
Dementedswan · 11/06/2020 21:28

Why is no one buying body shop?

Superdrug own brand are all vegan, or definitely vegetarian

Swiftier · 12/06/2020 14:43

I haven’t tried this myself - but a friend recommended this brand to me as I also buy cruelty free - it’s on my list to try.

I love the REN Rosa one - although I preferred it when they sold it in a big tub. Only use a small amount but really like the whole range

I wonder if Holland and Barrett might have one? I'm also dropping the body shop balm so following with great interest.

FreezerBird · 12/06/2020 23:26

I've recently started using stuff from The Beauty Kitchen which is available from Holland and Barrett and some boots stores, as well as online. I'm not sure if the whole range is vegan but certainly some of it is.

You can see the whole range online. I started using them because of the sustainability aspect (you return pumps, bottles etc to them for recycling/reuse), and can't comment on what would be similar to what you've been using.

The upcircle cleansing balm looks divine, but it's about £18 and I have a 'few' cleansers on the go at moment so can't justify it.Hmm

MooMinCow · 14/06/2020 08:24

I’ve been using the Inkey list oat cleansing balm - like it so far. Thick, oily balm in a tube, only need a tiny amount and rinses/come off clean with cloth. I think it has tiny oaty bits in it as feels slightly exfoliating when I rub it it and no fragrance as far as I can tell. The tube is gonna last me ages!

Carriemac · 14/06/2020 09:57

I’m dropping body shop too, am going to try the Elemis one

lotusbell · 14/06/2020 21:21

Fgs, @MooMinCow, bumping that one up to the top of my list!!! Grin

kingkuta · 14/06/2020 21:47

The Elemis one is lovely, quite pricey but lasts a long time. They also do a rose cleansing balm which is gorgeous.
