I’m in need of a pair of two of jeans and want to invest in something good quality. Can anyone recommend your favourite brands?

I’m probably looking for one lighter and one darker blue denim, and straight cut, classic/simple styles that I’ll wear all autumn/winter/spring.

I don’t mind spending up to around £200 for each pair as long as they’re amazing fit and will last really well.

Thanks in advance Smile

I think the next lift n shape jeans are fab (about £45)

I don’t think you should assume you are getting a better product for spending £200 - you are basically buying the name you do realise that?

Did you never see the (I think it was “Spend it well” or something - with the blonde presenter) programme where she went to the jeans factory in Bangladesh or wherever and all the high street jeans were made there as well as the designer ones? There were slight variations in the fabric used but generally the mid-range (£50 ish) Ones were thought to be as good as the cheaper ones (according to the woman who was in charge in the factory).

I'm tall and have tried a lot of jeans over the years and have recently stumbled across GStar, they fit my shape really well and somehow give me a perky bum 😂

Levi's - great fit. I get vintage 501's on eBay or Etsy. They mould to your body.

7 for all mankind - best brand I've ever bought. Very comfy and make your bum look amazing.

@WindyRose that’s interesting! I have thought about making my own clothes, and we have a decent sewing machine. I would have thought that jeans would be really difficult though! I’ll definitely look into it - thanks!

@Bleepbloopblarp thanks - I completely see where you’re coming from and agree that sometimes you are paying for the brand and also that paying more doesn’t guarantee that it’s ethical. However I’ve had jeans from Next, River Island, Topshop etc and they’ve only ever been just ok. I’ve had one pair from MiH and they’re amazing, and one from Levi’s which have lasted incredibly well. So in my experience it is worth paying for jeans. I also wear jeans a lot - most days apart from in summer, so I think it’s worth investing in a good pair or two. In general I’ve found spending more on clothes is worth it as I get something I love and wear a lot, I almost never find this in the cheaper/high street shops.

And thanks for the other posters for more suggestions! I’ve actually found a few to put on my short list so really appreciate all the ideas!

@Swiftier you could try some Curve ID jeans from Levi's. they don't make them anymore but eBay has lots some still new and tagged. They cater for women who have small waists and bigger hips.

OP, I have a budget similar to yours and am happy to spend on jeans because I am in them all the time (and can wear them to work). I always have at least 3 pairs on the go.

I have had good jeans from Nudie, Frame and J-Brand but my first choice for jeans is nearly always Comptoir des Cotonniers. Every pair is a winner no matter the cut - they have just been brilliant.

Currently eyeing up these from Comptoir des Cotonniers at the moment. Classic slightly nerdy blue, straight leg in a cool way.
