I’m in need of a pair of two of jeans and want to invest in something good quality. Can anyone recommend your favourite brands?

I’m probably looking for one lighter and one darker blue denim, and straight cut, classic/simple styles that I’ll wear all autumn/winter/spring.

I don’t mind spending up to around £200 for each pair as long as they’re amazing fit and will last really well.

Thanks in advance Smile

I like Jbrand. Lovely soft denim and great fit.

MabelMoo23 · 17/05/2020 20:57

NYDJ bloody love them

And also 7 for all Mankind. Also love

damnthatanxiety · 17/05/2020 20:58

OP just go look on Netaporter, Matches Fashions, My Theresa etc. You will get a good idea of premium denim on there

@Swiftier it's not a shop it's a brand created by an Irish model. They are lovely and all online.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/05/2020 21:12

I like Whistles barrel leg, Levi’s 501s, and Levi’s balloon legs. I have also just ordered some Cos jeans.

PenfoldsFive · 17/05/2020 21:24

Lee make a style called Carole (I think), which are 100% cotton, no stretch.

NewbieSM · 17/05/2020 21:40

Levi's wedgie straight jeans are a favourite, make your bum look amazing. Nobody denim are also good, sustainable and you can find in netaporter

lonelySam · 17/05/2020 21:56

MUD jeans - made in Amsterdam (I think) and you can rent them for a year and even repair THEM.

CLOSED are hand made in Italy. I bought a pair last week and the shop will hem them to my size.
7 for all mankind are very good - I love mine and they wash well.
Levi's have a sustainable line too.

Thank you all! Some great ideas here, I’ll enjoy looking at all of these brands!

@Swiftier Up to £200? You don't know how lucky you are

SundayReilly · 18/05/2020 17:54

GAP in size A27 perfect every time.
Levis when I was younger and really skinny but don't seem to work on me now.

hinckley · 18/05/2020 18:37

Have you thought about Ruth Ruth Langsford's Jean's on QVC. Meant to be a great fit.

Ermmmmname · 18/05/2020 18:42

I’ve tried on many jeans and the ones I’ve gone for are some from AllSaints and a pair of Levi’s. Trying them on it’s quite important for jeans. I’ve managed to get them for £50-£80 on sale
I also prefer slim not skinny and they’re so hard to find!

SarBear1980 · 18/05/2020 19:26

I keep always coming back to my Levi’s...501s. Such a classic and last so well. 😀

Atthebottomofthegarden · 18/05/2020 19:37

Surely it depends on your shape? Personally I am always after recommendations for the holy grail of jeans, that looks good on pear shapes?

BeNiceToYourSister · 18/05/2020 20:50

I’ve been really impressed with All Saints jeans... I have the same skinnies in 5 different colours as they’re so flattering! £100 RRP but I only buy outlet/sales so they’ve been good value and still look great after plenty of wear

BloodyNorasNeighbour · 18/05/2020 21:00

love love love NYDJ - they are amazing adn I have mutliple pairs but you need to size down at least 2 sizes if not more - im a 12 and wear a 8 or 6!!!

Bloomburger · 18/05/2020 21:05

I've tried loads expensive and cheap but always come back to Top shop Jamie jeans. Nice long legs and don't gape at the bottom.

Verite1 · 18/05/2020 21:15

MiH are the most flattering jeans I Have ever owned. I have a few pairs in different styles. I also have some lovely Mother and Frame jeans. If you look on OUTNET they always have some on discount. I haven’t paid full price for a pair of jeans for years!

Swiftier · 18/05/2020 22:24

@Verite1 thanks! I actually have a pair of MiH jeans which are lovely so that’s a good shout, I’ll have a look. Mother and Frame seem to be quite popular with others recommending them too!

@Atthebottomofthegarden yes it really does depend on shape. Part of my issue is that I’m probably a 26 waist but my hips and bum are about two sizes bigger so I often get a bigger size that I can belt up, or a shape that fits on the waist but is looser on the legs. I don’t wear skinnies, either really straight leg or a slim/crop with a slight flare would be ideal.

Thanks for the All Saints recommendations too, I wouldn’t think of there so good tip and I’ll have a look! And I’ll definitely look at Levi’s too. Got lots to look at, thanks so much!

Hiut denim, who also do free returns for life.

PhoneLock · 19/05/2020 08:22

Topshop Leigh. The cut really suits my figure. I have loads, none have worn out yet.

Ebay, less than £10 each delivered.

JessicaDay · 19/05/2020 08:34

Nudie or Hiut

WindyRose · 19/05/2020 08:43

Swiftier Have you thought of custom made jeans? if you are between sizes (as mentioned) then jeans made to fit 'you' would be your best option, it also means you can choose the style/denim/etc.

Another option is to make them yourself, but unless you have some fitting experience or the help of a friend who does, then this might be more than you want to do?

Jeans aren't difficult to make 'but' they are time consuming due to all the topstitching and made much simpler if you have the correct sewing machines. Might be something to consider for the future??

Just a thought!
