So, Charlotte Tilbury dropped her new magic serum crystal elixir today!
Apparently:

"Charlotte's Magic Serum combats dull, dehydrated skin with with a combination of Replexium, Golden Viatmin C, Polyglutamic Acid, and an unique combination of botanicals including Resurrection Leaf and Snow Leaf, to leave you with brighter, plumper and ultimately more youthful skin.

The serum has already been a hit with reviewers too.

After being tested on 209 men and women aged 18-80 over eight weeks, 93 per cent agreed they looked younger, with 97 per cent saying their skin felt more hydrated, and 93 per cent said their skin felt firmer"

I love charlotte tilbury and I want this so bad- anyone else trying this?

this is like an advert.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:05

lol I promise I'm not affiliated in any way.

I just saw this and thought it looked good. Plus I love her lip pencils.
I'm not too keen on her other products but this looked good

I don’t buy her stuff I don’t like her dahhhling, sweetie type approach

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/04/2020 20:14

Go on - how much?

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:16

£60.

Yeah, I know what you mean about her approach. I also side eye her a LOT for saying she never lets her husband see her without makeup.

That said, her lip pencils are the best ive ever tried. Of any brand.

Faffandahalf · 16/04/2020 20:18

This has got to be an advert.

Also £60! Give over

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:23

Why has it got to be an advert just because I attached a photo and quoted a newspaper?

It might be absolute shit. But for some reason it appeals to me

PR / Marketing fail.

Rosieposy4 · 16/04/2020 20:26

Do people really fall for this shit?
If this isn’t a joke or an advert and you really have £60 to piss around do something good or fun with it.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:28

Isn't buying makeup and skincare fun?
Do you never treat yourself? or do you spend all your free cash on donating to charity? being "good"

OP posts:
SinglePringle · 16/04/2020 20:28

(I can and do spend more than - waaaaay more than - £60 on a product. But no CT Style over Substance)

Ilovethekittehs · 16/04/2020 20:29

67% of 2,897 people agree it might make you look younger

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:30

The key being "might" lol

My skin is very dry so need something to attract moisture

OP posts:
Rosieposy4 · 16/04/2020 20:30

No I don’t think buying skincare is fun 😳 might be needed sometimes eg teenagers with acne, but fun, you need to get out more ( though obviously not until restrictions are lifted )

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:32

you need to get out more

Yeah. Great idea in a lockdown

Geez.
I DO enjoy buying makeup and skin care- isn't it odd how we are all different!

OP posts:
SinglePringle · 16/04/2020 20:36

You don't need something to 'attract moisture'. No such product exists. You cannot attract moisture to skin. You can use products such Vit C or Retinol to protect skin (but only high grade). If your skin is dehydrated, drink water, eat oily fish.

Butterymuffin · 16/04/2020 20:37

If you can afford it, get it. Life's tough at the moment and we all need a lift.

If you really need to know it's worthwhile, I would wait till it starts getting reviews by actual users on lookfantastic and the like - i.e. people who've bought it, not the company's reviewers.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/04/2020 20:40

@butterymuffin

Thank you! I think I will wait until the reviews are out before splashing out £60.

I'm not sure why people are being so nasty about this- its hardly shocking I am posting about a beauty/skin product on a beauty thread! But apparently, I need to "get out more". During lockdown Grin

Russellbrandshair · 16/04/2020 20:43

I think it looks interesting. I like CT.

bluebell34567 · 16/04/2020 20:50

agree with Butterymuffin.

SinglePringle · 16/04/2020 21:03

If you want to spend £60+ on a product, go for a company that has minimal advertising expenditure (so spends their revenue on R&D) and has built a reputation on word of mouth via therapists and salons. Decleor is a good example.

Also, look at Alumier, Medik8 and Omorovicza (more expensive than CT) Or Skinscueticals (similar price point).

Don’t buy into the CT hype. It’s the equivalent of Oil of Olay in a fancier pot.

JessicaPeach · 16/04/2020 21:07

I always like the look of Charlotte Tilbury products but can't bring myself to buy them for two reasons. One is the excessive gifting to terrible instagram influencers and the other is the alleged bullying culture in the organisation. Shame really as I do find the products very appealing!

DianaT1969 · 16/04/2020 21:23

Another thread was talking about product placement on MN today (Hush, Saltwater Sandals). Here we have a very unsubtle example!

thisenglishlife · 16/04/2020 21:29

I've just checked the ingredients list for you, don't bother. It's a niacinamide based serum, just buy a niacinamide product (maybe try Garden of Wisdom).

I'd also recommend this too (use before moisturiser): www.superdrug.com/Skin/Moisturisers/B-Essence-Facial-Lotion/p/605300

You could get both of those for less than £15.

thisenglishlife · 16/04/2020 21:34

The INKEY List do a polyglutamic acid, but the above essence will help sort out dryness, dehydration and irritation.
