Tell me about Hush clothes

Just that really. With this lockdown I have realised I don’t have any nice comfy relaxing clothes. I have old tracksuit bottoms with paint stains and that is it. I obviously spend too much time in work clothes.

What is the fit like with hush and do you recommend. Thanks all.

Looks ok-ish on the website (once you're past the batwings, and shiny gaudy motifs) I saw a few things that looked quite nice, so went into JL on Oxford St to have a feel.
The quality is not good- it certainly doesn't justify the price- I know it's not a mega expensive brand, but it's almost all polyester synthetics and close up just looks cheap.

The fact that they product place by starting threads on here about themselves irritates me as well.

The sizing is proper mental- there's vanity sizing and then there's Hush. Kind of the opposite to Zara. In real life I am a 12 top. In Zara I need an XXL and in Hush probably about a 6 looking at some of the frocks.

ShleeAnKree · 14/04/2020 20:54

I like them but they are so over priced for what they are.

WatchoutfortheROUS · 14/04/2020 20:57

I had a cotton jumper from them that washed very badly and looked shapeless very quickly. I haven't got anything since

CountFosco · 14/04/2020 21:07

Agree the sizing is very very generous. Quality is a mixed bag, I have a tshirt I bought 2 years ago that is falling to pieces (I have older tshirts from Redbubble that were half the price and are in much better state) but the harem pants bought at the same time still look great. I've heard very good things about their leather goods but horrendous things about the knitwear. I've just bought my first jumper but I got it for £12 in the sale (it's a linen cotton mix, thin but not surprisingly so for a summer jumper) so if it falls to pieces I'll survive. I have a few dresses (Tara, Charlie, and a pure wool one) and they're reasonable quality but they don't have pockets which is very annoying.

lokoho · 14/04/2020 21:08

Used to do amazing pyjamas. Just amazing. I have about 10 pairs of Hush pyjamas so could put on an exhibition of declining fabric quality in my sitting room, should I choose to. Grin

I've had to ask people to stop buying them for me. Scratchy and bobbly now. And the old brushed cotton ones are still so great!

Basically the older stuff I have from them - a coral cashmere jumper, a merino henley, a perfect tube skirt - is timeless and beloved. The newer stuff looks fine for a few wears and then grey rags itself into oblivion.

The styling is always very good on the website.

MeMeMeYou · 14/04/2020 21:10

You have to be tall for the trousers or jeans. I’m 5 foot 4 and they’re always too long and the dresses are too long too. Sizing runs v large too

millymoo1202 · 14/04/2020 21:10

I was really disappointed in the quality of their t shirts looked great online but very cheap material for the price!

lokoho · 14/04/2020 21:15

Sizing is fine for me btw. I'm a M/L in Hush same as everywhere else on the high street. I'm a high street 12/14: 5'10 32F 29" waist 41" hips, long body.

SambaMamba · 14/04/2020 21:18

Overpriced

Neonyellow · 14/04/2020 21:20

Sizing is very generous. I’d size down. Quality depends on the individual item I’d say. The joggers wash well.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 14/04/2020 21:23

I love hush! The only thing I have that fell apart was a t-shirt but it was my fault for putting it in the dryer - the motif rubbed off.

I order loads from there and like the style - feels a bit more special than say, Next and typical high street places but more stylish than places like boden which I feel mumsy in now - It’s nice, relaxed styling. I love the harem pants with the zipped ankles.
Agree the sizes are on the larger end - I’m a 12 but can wear a small.

SambaMamba · 14/04/2020 21:47

Their Instagram feed atm is horrific

SambaMamba · 14/04/2020 21:48

Hush personifies mumsy

TheWordmeister · 14/04/2020 23:11

I love Hush. I am wearing the Amie joggers most days atm, the ones with the ankle zip. I have several pairs. Buy small and wear with a tight T-shirt to avoid full on mc hammer.

I also have an embarrassing amount of sweatshirts And jumpers with stars on 🤷‍♀️

And Tara dresses. I have 5 and wear them all summer.

I could go on...

tigerbear · 15/04/2020 00:04

I bought about 5 items from hush the first time I ordered from them. They all arrived very badly creased, a top had a hole in, and another top was a worse fit than Primark stuff. All the fabric was shockingly bad.

RubyViolet · 15/04/2020 00:05

Bad quality for the price IMO.

MoltonSilver · 15/04/2020 00:20

I love hushs style and I have bought quite a few things. I keep falling for the look but everything except for one sweatshirt has washed badly. It all looks tatty very quickly. There was one particularly expensive jumper that I was determined to keep in good condition so I had it dry cleaned instead of washing it myself. It still looked rubbish after a few weeks. I won't buy anything more.

SpokeTooSoon · 15/04/2020 00:22

I live on the Amie joggers. The tshirts are appealing but they don’t wash well, threadbare and baggy after a couple of washes.

tontie · 15/04/2020 00:35

I love their patterned joggers.

ProfessorRapson · 15/04/2020 07:32

I have 3 dresses from Hush, sadly, as others have said, they've shrunk after a couple of washes and I'm very careful to follow washing instructions. I've also had a few tops which, again, have shrunk. Very overpriced for the poor quality. I should have returned them but I like the styles and patterns - I wish I could shrink! I always get suckered in via their emails and I'm still occasionally tempted to buy but have, thus far, resisted! Sizing is very generous. Boden are similarly priced, although more realistically priced with a discount code, and I've never experienced shrinking with their clothing.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 15/04/2020 07:52

So where is better quality and value for similar styles?

I love the look of hush stuff but am sick of all my stuff having holes in! Such Poor quality.

darkchocolateeggs · 15/04/2020 08:08

I'm disappointed. I bought a few bits from them just as lockdown started. The joggers have bobbled after one cold wash on very low spin. One jumper feels like cheap quality although in a nice vibrant colour. I'm not holding out much hope for washing it. Another jumper had the thread lose at end of sleeve but is lovely. T shirt is massive so size down.

Overall overpriced and not great quality. Much prefer my joggers from the white company but kept bits as didn't want to be doing trips to the post office for returns and ordering other stuff and needed some comfy clothes.

Handsnotwands · 15/04/2020 08:09

The zip pulls on my Aimee joggers snapped off (despite never actually being used) and the seam came undone in umpteen places. Both those and the harems have faded horribly and unevenly. I’m not impressed with the quality for the price

ReginaGeorgeous · 15/04/2020 08:31

Before lockdown I went for a nosey round the Hush concession in John Lewis based on how much love it gets on S&B.

Tried on a pair of Amie joggers and they’re awful in real life. They looked like the elasticated waist slacks my Nan used to buy in Bon Marche.

Cheap nasty fabrics and frumpy designs.

PrimalLass · 15/04/2020 08:54

I love Hush - bought in the sale. I also live in the Amie joggers, have around 15 tshirts and many jumpers. But none of it at full price.
