Will you recommend me your best ever body moisturiser please?

I’ve been using Vaseline intensive care for about 1 year but it seems to have made no difference at all! I exfoliate regularly but despite this, and despite regular use of the Vaseline, my skin still looks dry.

I like the Vaseline because it’s not greasy, but if the payback is no improvement in my skin, I’m going to have to try something else.

Please help :). And thank you.

I’ve used lasses of different body moisturisers over the years and am given many as gifts. Beyond doubt, the best one imo is the Garnier intensive seven days one recommended upthread. You can get it in boots and Superdrug. Superdrug vitamin e body moisturiser is also very good. I also like the Clinique one in a yellow tube but that is maybe 10 times the price.

I have loads of Molton Brown, Elemis, laura Mercier etc but I don’t think they’re as good as the ones I’ve listed above.

Aveeno is also good but I don’t like the smell. It lingers a bit too much.

TeaAddict235 · 11/04/2020 21:58

The Dove Nourishing Moisture with avocado oil and calendula is a dream, the scent lasts all day and my skin feels soft too.

Same for the Marula oil one from Dove.

Agree that the Garnier Mango seven day Moisture is also good stuff.

I like Nivea soft touch and Loccitane Almond Supple Oil

Custardcreamies101 · 11/04/2020 22:06

You could use Shea butter

oncemorewithfeelingplease · 11/04/2020 23:41

My favourites are clarins moisture rich, love the smell and my skin feels amazing after using it.
I also rate the palmers fragrance free body butter, I can’t stand the smell of the normal one

Wolfgirrl · 11/04/2020 23:42

Second vote for Lush Dream Cream! Makes my skin feel moisturised for ages afterwards.

I just slather on Bio Oil, you will feel like an oil slick for 10 minutes but it smells divine and really sorts out dry skin.

notasportymum · 12/04/2020 00:07

Aveeno brings me out in a rash.

Lubriderm advanced therapy lotion is amazing though.

zeddybrek · 12/04/2020 00:15

Aveeno.

I have tried hundreds, I used to work in Boots and spent all my money trying so many products. Best body cream hands down. One with almond oil is great.

YourWinter · 12/04/2020 00:26

Aveeno creamy oil, it's in a pump bottle.

IdblowJonSnow · 12/04/2020 00:29

Palmers coco butter is amazing. Really rich, really makes a difference and smells lovely.
I've been using Aveeno on my hands and that's quite nice.

MandyDingle · 12/04/2020 00:30

The sleepy time or dream time or something baby moisturiser by Johnson’s. I had really dry skin on one patch of my leg (Confused) put some on and when I woke up I was baby soft Grin

stophuggingme · 12/04/2020 00:36

Clinique Deep Comfort is fantastic

ellanwood · 12/04/2020 00:37

Palmers cocoa butter body lotion. You'll smell like chocolate (attracts DC like a magnet! Grin ) but it really does work.

TheCanterburyWhales · 12/04/2020 00:46

Aveeno or Neutrogena super intensive something or other- the latter smells really fresh but is so hydrating.

Used to love Body Shop Body Butter- the nut ones but haven't had one for ages.

Grabbner · 12/04/2020 12:09

Oh I forgot about the Body Shop Butter ones.

Thank you so much for further recommendations. I’ll try Aveeno first since it’s been mentioned loads, and see how we go from there :)

Just a little touch of coconut oil. When I start a new jar I melt it and add a few drops of rose geranium oil. It's divine.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 12/04/2020 13:05

I bought a kilo for £2.50 last week. It's good stuff if your skin likes it Smile

squishedgrapes · 12/04/2020 13:24

I like Clarins, also oils can be good. It might be what you're using to shower with. I've had no problems since I switched to bar soap

NarniaBanarnia · 12/04/2020 13:41

Love thd body shop body yogurts, I find the butters too greasy but these are fabulous

For an amazing treat: Brazilian Bum Bum cream by Sol de Janeiro, ££££ but addictive

longtompot · 12/04/2020 14:52

@frugalkitty I love the lavender Aveeno too but haven't seen it anywhere for a few years. Where do you buy yours from?

Aveeno is good. I also like Palmers cocoa butter. The Bodyshops Shea body butter is delish too.

Sadiesnakes · 13/04/2020 06:19

Eucerin complete repair 10% urea, hands down.

MadamShazam · 13/04/2020 08:14

Nivea Soft and Neutrogena Comfort Balm are both lovely, and can be used on your face aswell.

TheBitterBoy · 13/04/2020 08:30

I've used Aveeno and the Garnier seven day intensive. Aveeno is good but the Garnier is better, I get very dry scaley shins at this time of year and this is the only thing that has solved it.

EngagedAgain · 13/04/2020 08:38

Aveeno - the body lotion one is good, but not tried the others.
