I'm off to a wedding in May and need a new dress. I found a picture of this dress online but couldn't find the name of the shop to buy it anywhereShock

Does anyone know where to get something similar? Or what this cut/ style of dress is called? Help!

Lovely! Right up my street. What's your budget? It's very similar to certain dresses by Suzannah, but they are £££.

rachll · 05/03/2020 12:51

Thanks nowlook! My budget is £150 max.

I just did a reverse image search on that photo, it's been around since at least 2014 so probably not available any more, sadly.

I'd look for something like formal or structured skater dress - I know Ted Baker often use that sort of thick fabric for dresses.

Thanks Abelino! I'd forgotten about reverse image searching!

Similar style but wrong colour

rachll · 05/03/2020 13:18

Thanks Raera! I'm not especially hung up on any colour, so all suggestions are welcome!
I do quite like the thicker fabric and more body look of my original picture but I can't seem to find that look anywhereConfused

Sister jane from memory do similar poofy skirts.

Asos can be a good place to start, even just for ideas or brands as they have such a gigantic range.

rachll · 05/03/2020 13:42

My last post should have read "more boxy look"!

Thanks Krong and Raera - I'll check out your suggestions.

Have you tried Vintage Vixen she had a original 1950s similar style dress on her website, she is on Facebook and Instagram

HappyHammy · 05/03/2020 16:28

No sorry I haven't but website says free returns which you can also do via Asda which is handy. I'm looking for dresses too so just saw their site.

Was going to come on and say chi chi London too. My bridesmaids wore dresses from there and they were lovely.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 05/03/2020 17:47

And yes we had to exchange one for a different size and it was fine.

rachll · 05/03/2020 18:58

Thanks FAQs, I'll check out Vintage vixen. x

Isn’t that what would be described as a tulip dress?
I just did a quick search under that and found this one which I think is quite nice.
