Face wash recommendations

I have been using Superdrug's Naturally Radiant foaming facewash for a while and my face got on really well. My skin is great on it.

Unfortunately I just tried to buy more to find it has been discontinued.

Given my skin did well on that can anyone recommend an alternative?

I can go pricey if I have to. Obviously finding another high street product that does a good job is the dream though.

What skin type do you have?

My DD loves Sukin products , there's a foaming cleanser that is really mild .

I use a Konjac sponge
DS uses a Konjac sponge and Carbon Therapy soap

I like Superfacialist products; currently using their Hyaluronic Acid face wash.

My skin is pale and prone to flaking but also still have an oily t-zone. It's hard to explain. I definitely don't have dry skin, I'd say normal, but it can get a build up of dead skin that goes flaky very quickly, like a couple of days of not exfoliating. Menopausal - skin getting more sensitive with it. Not many wrinkles yet (I do face yoga). Other people say I have good skin. Whereas I know that using wrong products makes it go bad really rather quickly hence fear at my new favourite disappearing.

Anything oily or any heavy creams make me look like an oil slick by lunchtime, I end up spotty and rough skinned.

I'll have a look at superfacilist. Thanks.

I've been using Body Shop Carrot face wash since Salli Hughes recommended it and it's been great.

TorkTorkBam · 22/02/2020 17:53

I haven't been into Body Shop in years! That'll be a blast from the past.

For washing make-up off and daily cleaning, I use the pump version of Garnier micellar gel face wash. Its £2 per 100ml, so £4 a bottle! I find micellar water great for make up and oil removal, but cannot be bothered by the need for those make-up removal pads also. This one is a pump. Wet skin, pump liquid and rub into face, wash off. Easy!

Elouera · 22/02/2020 17:56

I too have an oily T-zone sometimes, but very dry, scaly cheeks too, to a strange combination!

Avene extremely gentle cleanser lotion. You can find It in boots or Superdrug, it's for sensitive skin and leaves your face feeling lovely and smooth!

GoldenKirst · 22/02/2020 18:53

I've started using Superdrug's naturally radiant hot cloth cleanser and my skin has never looked better! It was 50% off too!

TorkTorkBam · 22/02/2020 18:57

Thanks for all those recommendations. I shall report back when I work out the best one for me.

Cerave foaming cleanser

StormDenise · 22/02/2020 19:03

Two fairly cheap options that have really worked for me:

Cerave hydrating cleanser and the moisturiser is great too.

Cetaphil gentle cleanser.

afrikat · 22/02/2020 19:03

I like the Superfacialist Vitamin C cleansing oil

Squiggleness · 22/02/2020 19:05

Kiehls Calendula is the holy grail. One pump per use, SUPER foaming. Can take all your make up off and leaves you with the best skin you've (I've) ever had. Lasts ages and is divine! Followed by The Ordinary Buffet plus a rich moisturiser Halo

Sherloidbaisherloid · 22/02/2020 19:49

St ives apricot scrub is amazing. The blemish control one is really exfoliating I’ve used it for years

ChequerBoard · 22/02/2020 19:51

I have similar skin type to you OP and I really like Malin & Goetz Grapefruit Face Wash. it's not cheap at £29 but that's for a huge 236ml bottle that has lasted me forever. You only need a 5p sized amount to cleanse your face each time.

You can buy a travel size option to try it out. I actually decant from the full size into these as it helps me use less product.

Aldi Blush

TorkTorkBam · 22/02/2020 20:51

Can you be more specific than Aldi fluffy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/02/2020 21:05

They only do two, sensitive and oily. I’ve got the green one, very mild and not drying.

TorkTorkBam · 22/02/2020 21:07

Thanks fluffy

Mario Badescu is nice , there's a foaming face wash in the range .
My DD likes the Drying Lotion at £16 a pop but had discovered the Revolution dupe for £10..............but the Rose spray doesn't cut it with her , she likes Sukin or Badescu .

Sometimes when you go for an alternative you strike lucky . Other times its a wasted ££ on the shelf

TorkTorkBam · 22/02/2020 21:11

I like the idea if getting travel sizes to try them out. I hate buying things then finding they are wrong. It can take me six months to bring myself to bin them.

Tesco kind and pure is lovely.
