Just that, really.
I’ve chosen someone to go it, and her instagram pictures of clients look good, although she hasn’t been qualified that long (about 9 months)
90% sure that I’m going to have it done, so from people who’ve had it - what’s your advice?
My biggest concern is the healing process - I’m scared of having to go out and about afterwards with massive slug brows that are flaky and scabby (although the therapist assured me they shouldn’t be too bad with correct aftercare).

I wore makeup on my face but not on eyes and forehead after. I removed it with micellar water and a flannel, keeping away from eye area.

I washed my hair In the morning before I got my brows done then waited as long as I could before washing it. I tipped my head as far back as I could and angled the shower head as away from my face as possible. I held a dry flannel over my eye area and was as careful as I could be. I managed to keep them dry until the 10 days was up .

Regina, yours are a lovely shape. I don't really like the ones with super high arches. They look very artificial and are also very ageing. Don't know why people still do that style. Yours have a lovely soft arch.

LouReidDododo · 04/02/2020 19:55

It’s your face. You don’t know if the pictures on her site are actually work she has done.

I get mine done by a micro blade trainer who teaches it. It costs a bit more but she is very very good. She does a lot of work on cancer patients.

Once I couldn’t get in and went with some one else and they missed a huge chunk out so I had to pay to go and see the original lady on top!

Do your research. Also ask if they only do one style as a lot of practitioners do the standard brow which can look a bit frightening when you’ve hardly had nothing there for years!

It hurts like a bitch! The second lady I went to see - it felt like she was dragging the blade across my scull Shock

FrankieGoesToLiverpool · 04/02/2020 19:56

It really hurt.
Yes my brows are perfect now but I had loads of numbing cream on and I still don’t think it’s worth it based on the pain/healing process.

Use a good eyebrow pencil and off you go. I have lash extensions every fortnight (infilled) and shellac on fingers every month, eyebrow microblading just wasn’t worth it for me,

Have a look at KarenBetts.com, I had mine down by her at a beauty trade show. Then the next time by one of her elite team in Manchester

I had powder brows about 6 months ago and I am so pleased with them (I have dark hair and had lost about 95% of the brow hair to alopecia, there was no shape left at all and it was stressful trying to draw them on from scratch every morning with no outline to follow). I was advised against microblading due to my oily skin.

It hardly hurt at all and I was given a little self adhesive thing to wear in the shower (like the peak of a cap but sticks onto your forehead) - still had to avoid sticking your head right under but I could tip my head back into the water. I had virtually no scabbing.

They are slightly lighter than my natural brows and I paint darker hairstrokes on with a Soap and Glory felt tip in the morning, takes no time at all. I can go out without this and they look fine just a bit less finished. I hated them for the first few days though, they felt huge and bright.

I've just decided not to do it. I've got naturally blonde eyebrows. I've heard that fading is particularly bad for paler skin, in particular patchy fading which then needs filling/more top ups. So I'm sticking with dyeing and shaping

tigerbear · 13/02/2020 15:34

I’m booked in to get them done tomorrow!! 😬😬
Very nervous, but excited too.
Will post pics if I feel brave enough.

Mine yesterday after pic
They didn’t hurt at all, just a bit scratchy!
I think mine go from being thicker at the front to thin at the ends too abruptly, so I’ve asked her to balance them out a bit at the top up, but overall, I’m really happy with them.

It entirely depends on your current eyebrow state. Someone that has half decent eyebrows or doesn't have/need/see the benefit filling eyebrows in with pencil, will think it's crazy! However, if your eyebrows are sparse, uneven or non existent or you hate/rubbish at filling eyebrows in or just like a really done up eyebrow, then you will be happy.

You must get someone that is experienced and you love their work. Research, research, research. It's not the type of treatment to be penny pinching on.

I love mine on the whole and feel my face looks more balanced now. That said, some days I still feel like they are a little blocky and would prefer a slightly more natural look. Feedback for my technician when I top up.

Do I regret it. No, 100% improvement and i love that i can go make up less. Do I think there are some Cons. Definitely.

tigerbear · 15/02/2020 09:23

@kmini - thanks, I got them done yesterday.

tigerbear they look so much better. I agree with you that they taper too much but as you say that can be rectified at the top up. Glad you like them.

ChubbyMummy12 · 15/02/2020 09:37

@tigerbear they look great!

kmini · 15/02/2020 09:42

They look fab. That's my bug bear too! It does become less obvious as they heal.

tigerbear · 15/02/2020 11:15

Thanks all! It seems weird to have brows after so long having none!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 15/02/2020 11:18

They were all I could see on my face for the first few weeks!

ExpletiveDelighted · 15/02/2020 12:06

I felt incredibly self conscious with mine for the first week or so but can't imagine going back now.

Brickswithstones · 15/02/2020 12:37

I've been thinking of getting this done.
Can I just ask, what happens with the hair growth, after micro blading?
Would you still need to get it threaded/ waxed regularly?

Bezalelle · 15/02/2020 16:23

I pluck any stray hairs that pop up outside of the micro bladed area.

HermioneWeasley · 15/02/2020 17:40

Just booked mine for a few weeks time.

I need to wash my hair every day - how are you keeping yours dry?

ReginaGeorgeous · 16/02/2020 08:36

@tigerbear they look fab!

@Brickswithstones once they've healed, you can do anything to your brows; waxing, threading, tinting are all fine.
